1. [Liaoning Province] Practitioners Unlawfully Held at Panjin Prison

We are eleven Falun Gong practitioners unlawfully sentenced and held at the No. 1 Ward of the Panjin Prison in Liaoning Province.

For past several years, we have undergone inhuman torture, including being placed on the Tiger Bench, shocked for extended periods of time with electric batons, and otherwise hit and beaten. Each practitioner has been placed under close monitoring by several inmates serving terms on criminal charges. We have been prohibited from doing Falun Gong exercises and contacting or talking to each other. Our Falun Gong books have often been searched for and confiscated. Our basic human rights have been severely been violated.

List of eleven practitioners held in the No. 1 Ward of Panjin Prison in Liaoning Province:

2. [Jilin Province] Four Practitioners Unlawfully Placed on Trial Again at Changchun Intermediate Court

On May 9, 2007, Mr. Gao Weixi, Mr. Shi Guoliang, Ms. Yang Defang and Ms. Wang Fuxia were taken into custody by officers of the Shuguang Road Police Station. The four practitioners have been held at the No. 3 Detention Center. The Nanguan District police filed a so-called "important case" against them in the Nanguan District Court.

In January 2008, the Nanguan District Court in Changchun City held a secret hearing. All four practitioners made statements maintaining their innocence. Due to lack of evidence, the case was rejected by the Nanguan District Court and sent back to the Nanguan District Police Department.

Under the continuous pressure of officers of the Jilin Province Police Department, who tried to sentence the practitioners to prison, Nanguan District Court forwarded the case to the Changchun City Intermediate Court. The intermediate court also rejected the case due to lack of evidence.

On the morning of March 31, 2008, the Changchun City Intermediate Court held a hearing on the case of these four practitioners again.

3. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Du Jie Harassed by the Laoshan Police; Her Family Taken into Custody

On April 1, 2008, Li Yunlong (male) and other police officers of the Laoshan Police Department in Qingdao City broke into Ms. Du Jie's home in Zhanghan Town. The police ransacked Ms. Du's home, confiscated Falun Dafa books, a computer, and over a thousand copies of truth-clarification materials. Ms. Du Jie managed to escape while the officers were busy ransacking her home. The officers took into custody Ms. Du's family, Mr. Wang Qiang, and Mr. Wang Mingzhe, who have been unlawfully held at the Zhanghan Police Station in Laoshan District, Qingdao City.

6. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Several Practitioners in Hanting District Taken into Custody

Between February and March 2008, six practitioners in Hanting District, Weifang City, were unlawfully taken into custody. Some were released after the police extorted cash from their families. Two practitioners remain in custody.

7. [Macheng City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhao Renhua Taken into Custody in Beijing

On February 7, 2008, Ms. Zhao Renhua was taken into custody while she was distributing truth-clarification materials in the Huanghoudian area in Beijing. She was transferred to the Sujiatuo Detention Center after being held at the Qinghe Detention Center for some time. Her family went to Haidian District, Beijing, demanding her release but was not successful.

8. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Longtan District Court to Sentence Mr. Liu Guangzhi

Mr. Liu Guangzhi, 38, was a chef at the Wusong Guest House before the persecution started on July 20, 1999. Mr. Liu was taken into custody numerous times for appealing on behalf of Falun Gong. He was severely tortured.

On July 10, 2007, Mr. Liu Guangzhi was taken into custody again. It was reported that Mr. Liu was brutally treated.

In March 2008, Mr. Liu's family received several notices that he was to be placed on trial, but the trial was postponed several times. The authorities told his family that a notice would be issued on March 25. On March 24, Mr. Liu's family asked for information and learned that the trial was to be held on March 25. According to internal sources, there was no sentencing on March 25, but it will happen soon.

9. [Ya'an City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Li Wenfu and Other Practitioners Taken into Custody

On March 10, 2008, two practitioners, Ms. Ma and a driver from Chengdu City, visited Tianquan County in Ya'an City. After they left, a practitioner in Tianquan County was taken into custody. When Ms. Ma and the driver were in Fengming Township in Ya'an City, they were taken into custody by officers of the Ya'an Domestic Security Division. Two hours later, the driver managed to escape. Ms. Ma is being held at the Duoying Detention Center in Ya'an City. Mr. Li Wenfu, a practitioner in Fengming Township, was also taken into custody.

10. [Beijing] Ms. Dai Mingmei Taken into Police Custody

On December 21, 2007, Ms. Dai Mingmei, in her 30s, was taken into custody by the police while she was distributing truth-clarification materials in the Erqi Playhouse.

11. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Wu Qingli, Daughter of Ms. Wu Jinli, Taken into Custody

Ms. Wu Qingli, who is the youngest daughter of practitioner Ms. Yao Jinli, went to work on March 28, 2008, but never returned home. It was reported that she had been taken to a brainwashing center.

12. [Xiangfan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Chen Xinan Held at Fancheng District Detention Center

At 7:30 p.m. on March 30, 2008, Mr. Chen Xinan was distributing truth-clarification materials in Qiantangningxing Garden, a section of the Wanhu Residential Community in Xiangfan City. He was turned in to the authorities. Officers from the Hanjiang Police Station took him into custody. Mr. Chen is being held at the Fancheng District Detention Center in Xiangfan City.

At 11:00 a.m. on April 1, 2008, Wang Bihao (male) and other officials of the Security Division of the Hangyu Company, in association with officers of the Hanjiang Police Station in Fancheng District, Xiangfan City, searched the homes of Falun Gong practitioners. 13. [Qihe County, Shandong Province] Ms. Huang Yuping Taken to Dezhou Detention Center; Her Home Searched

On the morning of March 31, 2008, Ms. Huang Yuping was clarifying the truth at a fruit market. She was turned in to the police. Half a dozen police officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Qihe County 610 Office took Ms. Huang to the Political Security Section of the county police department. Ms. Huang was taken to the county detention center the same afternoon, but she was denied admission. The police then took her to Yucheng County Detention Center, which again denied her admission. Ms. Huang was later taken to Dezhou Detention Center.

At 12:30 p.m., Huang Jilong and other officers of the Domestic Security Division presented the paperwork for Ms. Huang to be "detained for disrupting social law implementation" and searched her home. The police took Falun Dafa books, electronic versions of books, an MP3 player, a portrait of the founder of Falun Gong, an incense holder, a personal computer, and some truth-clarification materials.

14. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Ma Shujie, an Elementary School Teacher, Prohibited from Working Because of Her Beliefs

Ms. Ma Shujie is a teacher at the Ximudan Elementary School. In early February 2008, officers of the Mudanjiang City Domestic Security Division took her into custody. She recently returned home, but the elementary school officials and officials of the Xi'an District Education Department in Mudanjiang City have prohibited her from working on the grounds that she has refused to be "transformed."

15. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Ping Taken into Custody

At 8:30 a.m. on March 12, 2008, Ms. Li Ping, 57, was taken into custody at her home by officers of the Haping Police Station in the Xiangfang area of Harbin City. She was taken to the Harbin No. 2 Detention Center. It has been learned that her neighbor turned her in to the police for clarifying the truth.

16. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Xia Xin Taken into Custody; Her Home Searched

On February 25, 2008, Ms. Xia Xin was unlawfully taken into custody by the Changchun police. The officers confiscated her computer and cellular phone. They even confiscated the computer she used at work. Her QQ (instant messaging) account and cellular phone have been placed under police surveillance. The Jilin Province police monitored her instant messaging account for two months. Her family has been denied any visits.

17. [Fusong County, Jilin Province] Additional Information on Mr. Chen Shude and Three Other Practitioners Taken into Custody

Mr. Chen Shude, an electrician who lives in Lushuihe Town in Fusong County, left home on the morning of March 2, 2008. He did not return that evening. At around 9:00 p.m., Guo Jun (male), a police officer from the Fusong County Police Department, knocked on Mr. Chen's door and claimed to be collecting electric bill payments. When the door was opened, a dozen police officers forced their way in. They confiscated three cellular phones, two MP3 players, and 2,900 yuan in cash from Mr. Chen's wife, Ms. Li Shuqin. In addition, the police took Ms. Li's retirement bank account information and the tuition money she had saved for her child's graduate study, totaling over 4,000 yuan. The tools and accessories Mr. Chen uses for his electric repair work were also taken. The police did not present any paperwork. They tried to take Ms. Li Shuqin into custody and eventually gave up as she suffered from severe heart problems due to intimidation. Later, it was confirmed that Mr. Chen had been taken into custody.

At around 11:00 a.m. on March 6, the police showed up at Mr. Chen's home again and took pictures. Three other practitioners have been taken into custody.

18. [Zhanjiang City, Guagndong Province] A Female Retired Teacher Taken to Brainwashing Center

A female teacher, who is in her sixties and retired from the Zhanjiang City No. 7 Middle School, was taken to a "legal school" (brainwashing center) about ten days ago.

20. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Additional Information on Mr. Li Guochen's Unlawful Detention

Mr. Li Guochen, 34, is a practitioner in Houluotun Hamlet, Fengchan Village, Yutan Town, in the Development District of Changchun City. At 9:00 p.m. on March 17, 2007, he was taken into custody and beaten by the police. On March 31, he was transferred to the Weizigou No. 4 Detention Center from the Weizigou Detention Center.

21. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Retired Employee Ms. Tang Yingxia Taken into Custody

Ms. Tang Yingxia, in her 50s, lives in Kaifu District, Changsha City. On March 27, 2008, she went out to distribute truth-clarification materials and was taken into police custody. When her husband returned home from out of town on April 1, the police had ransacked the place. The whereabouts of Ms. Tang remains unknown.

22. [Shanghai] Ms. Zhang Enmei Unlawfully Placed under Arrest

Ms. Zhang Enmei, a practitioner in Minhang District, Shanghai, has been placed under arrest by the Minhang District Police Department. Her family refused to cooperate, so officials of the local residential committee signed the warrant.

23. [Shandong Province] Ms. Zheng Changfeng and Two Other Practitioners Taken to Zhucheng City Detention Center

On the afternoon of March 31, 2008, officers from the Shunwang Police Station and others from the Cheng'gezhuang Police Station broke into the homes of Ms. Zheng Changfeng, Ms. Yu Dexiiu, and Ms. Sun in Cheng'gezhuang Village, under the jurisdiction of the Shunwang Neighborhood Administration Office. The three practitioners were taken to the Zhucheng City Detention Center.

On the morning of March 28, 2008, Mr. Sun Mingyou, 65, a retired worker of the No. 7111 Factory in Wenjiang District, was taken into custody at the Baimamiao Farmer's Market in Wenjiang District. His home was searched. Mr. Sun is being held at the Yongsheng Detention Center in Wenjiang District, Chengdu City.

25. [Shan County, Shandong Province] Seven Practitioners, Including Mr. Huang Pingping, Held at the Shan County Canine Training Base

Between 4:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. on March 30, 2008, Mr. Huang Pingping, Mr. Zhi Yongping, Ms. Meng Fanxiu, Ms. Shen Jinhua, Mr. Wang Jun, and two other practitioners were taken into custody at their homes by half a dozen police officers from the Heze City Police Department, the Domestic Security Division, and the Crime Response Unit of the Shan County Police Department. The seven practitioners were taken to the Shan County Canine Training Base. On the morning of April 2, Mr. Huang Pingping, Mr. Zhi Yongping, and another practitioner were transferred to the Heze City Police Department.

26. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Additional Information on Ms. Li Hong, Taken to Drug Rehabilitation Center

Ms. Li Hong, 45, lives in the Jinxiu Residential Community in Ganjingzi District, Dalian City, Liaoning Province. She works at the Dalian Special Steel Factory (formerly the Dalian Steel Factory). At around 1:00 p.m. on March 30, she was clarifying the truth to three male junior high school students in the Xianglujiao area. The students turned her in to the police. Ms. Li was taken to the Xianglujiao Police Station. The police searched her home at around 2:00 p.m. the same afternoon and confiscated all of her books and DVDs.

On March 31, Ms. Li Hong was taken to the Jinjiajie Drug Rehabilitation Center. The guards ordered Ms. Li to put on the uniform for inmates, but she refused. When her family went to visit her, the guards told them that visits would not be granted unless Ms. Li wore an inmate uniform. Ms. Li's mother and younger sister had to leave the personal items they brought in without seeing her.

27. [Shanghai] Ms. Qin Fengxian Sentenced to One Year of Forced Labor

Ms. Qin Fengxian, a practitioner in Chuansha Town, Puding District, was turned in to the police while she was clarifying the truth in early February. She has been unlawfully sentenced to one year of forced labor.

Ms. Qin was unlawfully sentenced to five years in prison in December 2000 when she was taken into custody; her home was searched by the police.

At the end of 2007, the following practitioners remained in custody:

Ms. Dong Jiurong, 72, is a practitioner in Lingzishang Village in Fengnan District, Tangshan City. The director of the security office in Wangjiahe Village turned Ms. Dong in to the police for clarifying the truth. At 11:00 a.m. on April 2, 2008, the police took Ms. Dong into custody.

30. [Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Dai Qihong, Working at Mudanjiang Prison, and Another Falun Gong Practitioner Taken into Police Custody

Mr. Dai Qihong, a clerk at Mudanjiang Prison, lives in the family quarters at Mudanjiang Prison. He was videotaped while distributing truth-clarification materials near the Mudanjiang Airport and subsequently taken into custody.

On March 20, 2008, officers from the Mudanjiang City 610 Office and the Domestic Security Division searched Mr. Dai's home. The police confiscated a computer, two printers, and many copies of truth-clarification materials. Mr. Dai was interrogated by officers of the Yanjiang Police Station in Mudanjiang City. He has been taken to a detention center for custody.

Another practitioner who also works at Mudanjiang Prison (in the finance section) was implicated. Agents of the Mudanjiang City 610 Office and the Domestic Security Division unlawfully took the practitioner to the detention center.

31. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Jiang Qinfang's Forced Labor Term Extended for Three Months Without Cause

In March 2005, Ms. Jiang Qinfang was unlawfully sentenced to three years of forced labor. She has been held at the Shandong Province Women's No. 2 Forced Labor Camp. Her term should have ended in March 2008, but it has been extended for three months without a reason.

32. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Several Practitioners Taken into Custody

At 11:00 a.m. on March 31, 2008, Ms. Xu Daoxiu and Ms. Qiu Chunhua were taken into custody by officers of the Ziyang Road Police Station in Wuhan City. At 1:00 p.m., practitioners Mr. Xu Jie, Mr. Chen Song, Ms. Chu Lin, Mr. Zhu Yi, and a practitioner with the surname Zhou were taken into custody by the Hongshan Police Department. Mr. Chen Song, Mr. Zhu Yi, and practitioner Zhou have been released. Mr. Xu Jie has been taken to the Erzhigou Detention Center. Details on other practitioners are not available.

33. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Mr. Lai Jinming Sent to Forced Labor Camp

On April 2, 2008, Mr. Lai Jinming was sentenced to one and a half years of forced labor. He has been taken to the Baimalong Forced Labor Camp.

34. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Recent Situation of Elderly Practitioner Mr. Xie Wutang

Mr. Xie Wutang is a practitioner close to 70 years old in Changsha City. He has been in poor health since being taken to Wuling Prison in Changde City. He has suffered from chest pain, dizziness, poor hearing, and slow reflexes. Prison guards told him that he could be released on medical parole, but he had to write a guarantee statement saying he would stop practicing Falun Gong. It was said that the statement was required by the Hunan Province Justice Department.

35. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Practitioner Ms. Zhu Jiaqi Taken into Custody at Work by Hanting Police Department on March 31, 2008

36. [Renshou County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Huang Qunfang Taken into Custody

Ms. Huang Qunfang is a practitioner in her 50s. She was clarifying the truth in public while visiting her daughter in Beijing. She was taken into custody and sent back to a detention center in Renshou County, Sichuan Province.

37. [Tianjin] Ms. Liu Hongqin Taken into Custody

On March 26, 2008, Ms. Liu Hongqin, a practitioner who lives at Gate 3 on Wuheng Lane, Wuma Road, Nankai District, Tianjin, was taken into custody while distributing and posting truth-clarification materials near a police station.

38. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Follow-Up Report on Four Practitioners Recently Taken into Custody

On the morning of March 24, 2008, Ju Peng (male), officers from the Jiuzhai Township Police Station in Mengyin County, and officers of the Mengyin County 610 Office broke into Mr. Zhao Shengju's home in Lijiazhaizi Village, Jiuzhai Township, to conduct an unlawful search. The officers took Mr. Zhao's wife to the township courtyard and held her there for three days before transferring her to the Yinan County Detention Center on March 27.

On the morning of March 25, Ju Peng and half a dozen officers from the Mengyin County 610 Office broke into Mr. Ma Fumin's home in Majialiang Village in Jiuzhai Township, for an unlawful search. The police took Mr. Ma Fumin, 60, to the Mengyin County Detention Center.

On March 27, the police broke into Mr. Guo Changde's home in Beilou Village, Jiuzhai Township, twice. Mr. Guo is a retired school principal. He and his wife, both of whom are in their 70s, were taken to the Mengyin County 610 Office. They were forced to pay 20,000 yuan before being released.

Practitioners who were taken into custody on March 12, 2008, have been released, with the exception of Ms. Zeng Lingqin. Other practitioners or their families who were taken into custody earlier were also released some time ago. The police extorted tens of thousands of yuan from some families.

41. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Che Hongfei's Situation Remains Unknown

Mr. Che Hongfei, a practitioner from the Yingkou area in Dalian City, was transferred to Dalian Prison in December 2007. Recent unconfirmed reports indicate that Mr. Che died due to inhuman treatment.

43. [Shandong Province] Several Dozen Practitioners Remain in Custody in Yantai Area

Since 2007, almost a hundred practitioners in the Yantai area have been taken into custody. Most of them are from Zhaoyuan City, Laizhou City, and Laiyang City. Recently, some practitioners in Penglai, Longkou, Mouping, and Xixia areas have been taken into custody.

Some practitioners have been rescued from police custody. Several dozen more remain in custody in detention centers or brainwashing centers enduring inhuman treatment.

44. [Fuzhou City, Fujian Province] Ms. Zhao Fengrong Taken to Prison Hospital

Ms. Zhao Fengrong, around 70 years old, is a practitioner from Fuzhou City, Fujian Province. She suffered from high blood pressure due to mistreatment. She has recently been taken to the Fujian Province Prison Administration Central Hospital from the the Fuzhou No. 1 Detention Center.

45. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Zongshun Taken into Custody

At noon on April 2, 2008, officers of the local police station took into custody Mr. Wang Zongshun, a practitioner who lives in Pozhuang Village, Mucun Town in Fangzi District, Weifang City. The officers also took into custody his second eldest grandson and the wife of his eldest grandson (neither are practitioners). The police confiscated a notebook computer and two bags of Falun Dafa materials.

46. [Beijing] Ms. Ma Sufen Taken into Custody Again

Ms. Ma Sufen is a practitioner who lives in the Maxinzhuang area in Beixiaoying Town, Shunyi District. She has been persecuted numerous times. In 2001, she was turned in to the police for clarifying the truth to Ma Changren (male), the village accountant. Ma Kuren (male), director of the village security office, threatened her several times. Song Yingjie (male), police officer of the Xiaoying Town Police Station, also kept harassing her and confiscated her Falun Dafa books.

On November 16, 2002, Zheng Min (gender unknown), former head of the 610 Office, led a dozen people, including police officers, joint security officials, the head of the group security office, and Tang Shumin (female), director of village women's affairs office, to take Ms. Ma Sufen into custody and sentenced her to three years of forced labor. The officers confiscated Falun Dafa books, a television set, and a cassette player that was in her home.

Prior to October 2007, Ms. Ma Sufen was taken into custody again. Her home was unlawfully searched. The police did not find what they were looking for, and Ms. Ma was granted parole pending court hearings the same night. The police continued to call her over the phone to harass her.

On January 9, 2008, Liu Shui (male), an officer of the Xiaoying Police Station, and several joint security officials arrived at Ms. Ma Sufen's work unit. They forcibly took Ms. Ma to the detention center.

47. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Additional Information on Ms. Chen Xin's Detention

Ms. Chen Xin was taken to the Fengyutan Police Station by police officer Wang Wei. Ms. Chen refused to give out her name for three or four days. Later she was identified when the police searched through archives of saved pictures. She was transferred to the Shenhe District Domestic Security Division. It has been reported that Ms. Chen has been held in isolation in a small room. Her family has been denied visitation. Ms. Chen's term of detention has ended, but she has not been released. It is possible that she has been taken to a brainwashing facility.

48. [Chengde City, Hebei Province] Notice Posted by Shuangqiao District 610 Office Poisons Citizens' Minds

Recently, the Shuangqiao District 610 Office has been posting notices in residential communities, encouraging people to turn in Falun Gong practitioners. An informant will receive an award ranging from 200 to 1,000 yuan for each report to the police regarding practitioners.
