A CCP Official: "We Will Not Arrest Falun Gong Practitioners in Our Area"
Not long ago, a local Chinese Communist Party (CCP) branch followed orders to set up plans to arrest Falun Gong practitioners in its counties and districts, including an arrest quota. This upset the district and county officials, including the policemen and members of the 610 Office. A top district official told a practitioner, "We were ordered to arrest Falun Gong practitioners again. But we will not arrest them in our area."
As practitioners continue to clarify the truth about Falun Gong and spread the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, more and more people in China now know the facts about Falun Gong.
A Village Secretary Studies Zhuan Falun
There are over 20 practitioners in a village in Laixi City, Shandong Province. Before Jiang Zemin and the CCP began the suppression of Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, the practitioners of the village conducted themselves strictly according to the standard of Falun Gong. They were law-abiding citizens that put others before themselves. When it was time to submit grains for tax, they always selected from their best crops. They volunteered to repair roads, and they were kind and tried their best to be thoughtful to others. They were well-respected by the other villagers.
When the suppression of Falun Gong began, some of the practitioners in the village traveled to Beijing to exercise their constitutional right to appeal for Falun Gong. Afterwards, many levels of the Chinese government and public security bureau repeatedly pressured the village secretary to suppress practitioners in the village.
At first, the village secretary didn't agree with the practitioners' decision to appeal for Falun Gong, so he pressured them to renounce Falun Gong and had them under watch. The practitioners repeatedly clarified the truth about Falun Gong to the village secretary and gave him Falun Gong truth-clarification materials. Because the village secretary was a victim of the Cultural Revolution, he knew about CCP propaganda firsthand. Soon the village secretary saw through the lies and realized the Party's despicable nature. He decided to withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations that he had once joined. He was determined to side with the righteous and to do his best to protect Falun Gong practitioners.
One day many banners showed up in and nearby the village bearing such messages as "Falun Gong is good," "Withdraw from the CCP for your own safety," and "A new China is born when the CCP collapses." The police went to the village secretary and accused him of neglecting his duty. The village secretary played dumb to protect the practitioners hanging up these banners. Because the village secretary accepted the truth about CCP, the majority of the villagers, too, chose to withdraw from the CCP or the CCP's two youth leagues when Falun Gong practitioners visited them door to door.
The village secretary is very interested in what practitioners have to say. Every few days he invites practitioners to his home to read new Falun Gong truth-clarification materials. When practitioners told him the story of Han Xin, a famous Chinese general who endured the humiliation of crawling between a thug's legs, he admired them for learning from Han Xin's great heart of forbearance.
One day, a village thug made an unreasonable request about the harvest. The village secretary told him that it required some discussion, but he immediate attacked the secretary. The secretary had to have a gash stitched up. During the attack, the secretary did not fight back at all. He said that he remembered how Han Xin responded to the thug and about the heavenly law of all bad deeds being ultimately punished. Over 90 friends and relatives visited him after they heard about the attack, and they swore revenge on his behalf. The village secretary patiently persuaded them to give up on the idea of revenge and managed to ease their anger. When the thug heard that the village secretary dissuaded over 90 friends and relatives from taking revenge on him, he was deeply moved. He went to the village secretary to beg for forgiveness. The village secretary told him about the Falun Gong principles and suggested that he learn "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" and that he should change himself to be a better person.
That very day, the secretary and his wife started to study Zhuan Falun, the main text of Falun Gong. The person who attacked him is now a changed man, as well.
