(Clearwisdom.net) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 28 cities and counties in 9 provinces. In this report, 5 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 60 practitioners were illegally arrested.
1. [Yishui County, Shandong Province] Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Li Xiuying Arrested
At around 8:00 p.m. on March 1, 2008, Ms. Li Xiuying from Zhangjialouzi Village, Yangzhuang Town, Yishui County was arrested while she was distributing truth-clarifying materials in Nanduozhuang Village. On the next day, her home was searched and her property confiscated. Her eleven-year-old and five-year-old children have been left at home, with no one to take care of them.

2. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Falun Gong Practitioners Ms. Hou Yumei and Ms. Hou Xiufang Arrested
On February 27, 2008, Ms. Hou Yumei and Ms. Hou Xiufang from Changfuzhuang, Liaolan Town were reported to police while they were clarifying the truth at Lianlan Farmer's Market. On the way home, they were arrested by police from the Liaolan Town Police Station. Ms. Hou Yumei's home was searched and one TV, one VCD player, four cases of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, and some truth-clarifying materials were taken away.
3. [Beijing] Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Lu Changchun Arrested
Ms. Lu Changchun was arrested on February 29, 2008, and he is being held in the detention center at North Chaoyang Road. His family members are not allowed to visit him.

Falun Gong practitioner couple Mr. Pan Zhiming and Ms. Gai Aiqing live in Songjianghe Town, Fusong County, Baishan City. On the evening of March 2, a dozen policemen took them away. A computer and other property at their home were confiscated.
In 2000, the couple was persecuted because they validated Dafa. Their family was not reunited until 2003.

7. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Li Yuandong Arrested and His Wife Forced to Become Homeless
On the afternoon on August 1, 2007, Chengdu Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Li Yuandong went to visit his friend. Police from the Chengdu City National Security Bureau and the Shuangnan Police Station arrested him. His whereabouts are still unknown.
On the evening of August 2, a group of people from the Chengdu City National Security Bureau, the National Security Team of the Qingyang Police Department and the Caotang Police Station went to Li Yuandong's home with the intension of arresting his wife, Ms. Huang Fangping. At that time, only Li Yuandong's daughter was at home. These intruders pried open the metal fence on the balcony and entered Mr. Li's home through a window. They searched the rooms and took the computer used by Mr. Li's daughter. Ms. Huang Fangping was forced to become homeless.

10. [Beijing] Couple Mr. Liu Qinghai and Ms. Wang Xiuzhi Arrested at Home
At around 9:00 a.m. on February 26, 2008, the Falun Gong practitioner couple, Mr. Liu Qinghai and Ms. Wang Xiuzhi, were arrested at their home in Bulaotun Town, Miyun County, Beijing. They are currently being detained in the Miyun Detention Center.
11. [Fusong County, Jilin Province] Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Lin Qinghui Arrested
At around 3:00 p.m. on March 2, 2008, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Lin Qinghui was arrested at his mother's home in Songjianghe Town, Fusong County. Six other practitioners including Mr. Li Dongmin were also arrested. They are currently being detained in the Fusong County Detention Center. They have been tortured for confessions.
12. [Xuanhua City, Hebei Province] Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Zhao Yonglan Walked Away from Police, and Her Family Members Are Harassed
On February 13, 2008, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhao Yonglan was seized and taken to the Shuangmiao Police Station because she was clarifying the truth near Zhaojiawo in Dachanggai Township, Xuanhua County. The next day, she managed to walk away. In order to find her, the police have been following and monitoring her family members.

On February 28, 2008, Zhang Hongjun, Head of the Tiedong Police Station in Shulan City, Jilin Province, and police officer Xu Zhiguo seized Ms. Qiao Hongyan. Ms. Qiao is being detained and persecuted in the Nanshan Detention Center of the Shulan City Police Department.

16. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Practitioner Mr. Zhu Hongbin Beaten and Injured by Prisoner Zheng Hongyu
Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhu Hongbin is being detained in the Fifth Division of Hongweixing Prison in Daqing City. Yang Yalong, instructor of the fifth division, ordered prisoner Zheng Hongyu to beat Mr. Zhu. Mr. Zhu was injured during this beating.
17. [Kaifeng City, Henan Province] A Male Falun Gong Practitioner Arrested
At around 11:00 a.m. on March 3, 2008, three policemen from the Gulou Criminal Police Team in Kaifeng City seized a male Falun Gong practitioner south of the Zhenhe Shopping Mall in Kaifeng City. The practitioner was hit and kicked.

18. [Yibin City, Sichuan Province] Five Falun Gong Practitioners Detained for More than Six Months
During the summer of 2007, Ms. Peng Jun and four Falun Gong practitioners from Xingwen County, Yibin City went to a local school to clarify the truth. They were seized. These five practitioners have been detained in the Xingwen County Detention Center for more than six months.
19. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Liu Yanqing Persecuted
On March 26, 2004, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liu Yanqing from Zhangbei County, Zhangjiakou City was reported to police while she was clarifying the truth. Policemen including Li Shanghong took her away. On the following afternoon, she was sent to a detention center. On April 7, 2004, she was released after having about 8,000 yuan extorted from her. After returning home, she has often been harassed, followed, and monitored.
20. [Beijing] Persecution Justified by the Olympic Games Started in 2001
In summer 2001, on the eve of applying to host the Olympic Games, Beijing police made a mass arrest of Falun Gong practitioners. According to inside information, about 100 to 200 practitioners were arrested. Some practitioners were sentenced to long terms.
21. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Zhang Fenglin Arrested
Mr. Zhang Fenglin, a man in his fifties, lives in Daoyi No. 3 Village, Daoyi Town, New Shenbei District, Shenyang City. Sometime around February 22, 2008, police from the New Shenbei District Police Department took him away. He is now being detained in the New Shenbei District Detention Center.
22. [Beijing] Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Li Xuejun Arrested
On February 28, 2008, police from Xicheng Police Department in Beijing went to Mr. Li Xuejun's booth in the cloth market near the Beijing Zoo and took him away. In his booth, the police found three CDs about Falun Dafa.
23. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Liu Xun Arrested
Ms. Liu Xun works at the Xinhua Pharmaceuticals Factory in Zhangdian District, Zibo City. While she was clarifying the truth in a market, she was followed by plainclothes police. In the latter part of February 2008, she was arrested at her home.
24. [Beijing] Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Guo Jianmei and Her Family Members Arrested
At 8:00 a.m. on February 25, 2008, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Guo Jianmei and her husband, who is not a practitioner, went to visit her older brother, Mr. Guo Jianhua. At that time, the police searched Mr. Guo Jianhua's home and found several Dafa books. The police took away Mr. Guo Jianhua, his wife Ms. Zhou Liling, and two children, as well as Ms. Guo Jianmei and her husband. Later Ms. Guo Jianmei's home was also searched. The two children were released in the evening. Others are being detained in the Qinghe Detention Center in Beijing's Haidian District.
25. [Jiangyuan County, Jilin Province] Practitioner Mr. Liu Jinsheng and His Wife Arrested
On February 29, 2008, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Liu Jinsheng was arrested at work by police from the Jiangyuan County National Security Team. On that afternoon, a dozen policemen drove three police vehicles to search Liu Jinsheng's home. The police took away one laptop and other property. They also arrested his wife, who was taking care of their granddaughter at home.
Currently, Liu Jinsheng is being detained at the Baishan City Detention Center. His wife is in the Jiangyuan County Detention Center.

26. [Yiyuan City, Shandong Province] Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Liu Guangxia Arrested
On the afternoon of March 1, 2008, Ms. Liu Guangxia was arrested by police as she was meeting with another practitioner. Her whereabouts are unknown.
27. [Dingzhou City, Hebei Province] Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Wang Zenghu Arrested
On February 25, 2008, Dingzhou Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Wang Zenghu went to a police station in Suning County, Cangzhou Area for business. He was reported to police because he distributed truth-clarifying CDs. After arresting him, police from the Suning County Police Department went to Wang Zenghu's home in Dingzhou City and confiscated a computer.
28. [Shenzhou City, Hebei Province] Zhang Xinhuan and Three Falun Gong Practitioners Arrested
At around 3:00 p.m. on February 28, 2008, seven or eight policemen from Yuke Township Police Station in Shenzhou City arrived in police vehicles to search several local Falun Gong practitioners' homes at Dongjingmeng Village. The police arrested Ms. Zhang Xinhuan, Ms. Guijuan, Ms. Zhang Xiuqing, a woman about eighty-years-old, and Mr. Zhenyu. At the time, Zhenyu's family paid 10,000 yuan in cash for the release of Zhenyu. The other three practitioners were sent to Shenzhou City. On the following day, the police went to search the village again and took away a practitioner's husband, who does not practice Falun Gong.
29. [Zhuozhou City, Hebei Province] Falun Gong Practitioner Mr. Lu Ling Arrested
Mr. Lu Ling lives in Changcun Village, Songlindian Town, Zhuozhou City. On the afternoon of March 1, 2008, he was arrested while visiting a Falun Gong practitioner's home at Dongyangtun Village. His whereabouts are unknown.
The police searched the home of Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Liang Rong at Changcun Village and took away Dafa books.
30. [Linqing City, Shandong Province] Police Officer Yang Yanhe Took Away Two Older Practitioners
On the morning on February 27, 2008, two Falun Gong practitioners, each about 70 years old, clarified the truth to laborers at a construction site in Linqing City, Shandong Province. Police officer Yang Yanhe from Xinhua Police Station in Linqing City was on duty at the time. He took the two elderly practitioners into custody.
31. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Falun Gong Practitioners Ms. Zhang Jin, Ms. Zhang Yanchun and Ms. Guo Lixia Sent to a Forced Labor Camp
On December 10, 2007, Ms. Zhang Jin, Ms. Zhang Yanchun and Ms. Guo Lixia were taken to Dali Road Police Station because they distributed truth-clarifying materials at the Dali Road Market in Tangshan City. Later the three practitioners' homes were searched. Truth-clarifying materials, a computer and other property were taken away.
The three practitioners were detained in Dali Road Police Station for about one month and then sent to a forced labor camp in Shijiazhuang City to serve 18-month terms. They are refusing to cooperate with the guards. The labor camp is not allowing their family members to visit them.
32. [Guan County, Shandong Province] Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Li Xiujin Arrested
At 4:30 p.m. on February 28, 2008, several police officers broke into Ms. Li Xiujin's home and arrested her. Her son, who does not practice Falun Gong, was also arrested because he tried to prevent the police from taking his mother.
33. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Additional Information about the Arrest of Several Falun Gong Practitioners
On February 24, 2008, Yumin Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Lu Guirong, Ms. Gao Yanxia, Ms. Fan Xiuzhen, and Ms. Wang Xufang from Yushu City were arrested.
On February 27, Ms. Su Lixia from Xinli Town was arrested.
On February 28, Ms. Li Shuchun from Sihe Town was arrested.
On February 29, Nanmen Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Zhang Yulian, Ms. Wu Fenghua, Mr. Li Donghe, Mr. Zhu Zhanshan, Ms. Xiao Bai were arrested by police from Zhengyang Police Station. Li Donghe was released after being extorted out of 1000 yuan. Others are being detained in a detention center.
