(Clearwisdom.net) The Divine Performing Arts company presented its first show in Kaohsiung City Taiwan with great success. After the show, Mr. Lu Zhaoqi, a well-known artist, poet, and board member of the Nanfeng Oil Painting Association in Taiwan, was so emotional that he stayed in his seat. Mr. Lu is an expert in oil painting and has a very keen sense of observation. He praised the Chinese Spectacular as the most beautiful Asian art performance he had ever seen, calling it a "soul dance."

What impressed Mr. Lu most was that this group of young Chinese, who have grown up in the West, are so wholeheartedly committed to the promotion of the essence of ancient Asian culture through their most beautiful and elegant movements and body language.
He pointed out that in today's popular arts, there are so many vulgar interests and so much impurity, along with so much chaos in the world. He has encouraged all his friends who want to find inner peace to come to the Chinese Spectacular, because "This is absolutely a show of pure culture and arts," and "Every dance, every gesture, and every musical note displays a pure land on earth. I almost forgot theater protocol when I was watching the show and I really wanted to clap my hands when I was not supposed to do so, because I felt that every moment in the show was very precious and hard to come by."

Mr. Lu, who has been engaged in painting and writing for 25 years, said, "I'm used to looking at things from a professional perspective, including things like color, line and figure, the overall stage design, and so on, or appreciating arts and performances from a humanistic point of view. The most beautiful thing about the Divine Performing Arts, is that apart from the youthfulness of the performers, they have exquisite costumes, which fit in very well with the backdrops which help the themes unfold. With all these combined, it creates a meticulous and perfect, professional stage effect. This is truly outstanding and very rare."
"Besides exquisite costumes, beautiful dancers, and marvelous backdrops, every performer is so serious and conscientious. It would not be an overstatement to say that they dance with their lives. I would call it a 'soul dance.' I was very touched. Although I have clapped my hands countless times today, I would applaud again for these young people!"
When talking about the soul-touching performance "Descent of the Celestial Kings," Mr. Lu said, "When the celestial kings harness the heavenly horses, those we hear in legends, they whizzed over our heads. The fantastic effects of lighting and sound brought the legends to life, and it was very rare and extremely touching. People say that the secular world is the best place for cultivation, and the Chinese Spectacular has indeed presented a beautiful realm like pure land in the human world, and it gives all of us hope."
A Comprehensive Window to Reflect the Cultural Brilliance of 5000 Years
It is extremely difficult to comprehensively depict the culture of China's 5000 years of history, or that of even more ancient times, on a stage in less than two and a half hours. "The Divine Performing Arts selected the best parts of [history], like a small section, or a small window, and it comprehensively reflected the cultural brilliance of our 5000-year history. As a Chinese I am very happy and very proud after watching the performances. At last we can see such an inspiring show on stage, which makes us feel so proud. It is really moving."
A Grand Feast Filled with Truthfulness, Compassion and Beauty that Dispels Evil and Exalts Virtue
Mr. Lu praised the Spectacular as a grand feast filled with truthfulness, compassion and beauty. "The arrangement of the whole performance keeps a balance of vigor and softness. For example, there is the vigorous 'Drummers of the Tang Court,' and there are also very beautiful and soft dances like 'Ladies of the Manchu Court,' 'Fan Dance' and 'Nymphs of the Sea,' which are full of oriental charm. In terms of lighting and sound effects, color and dance arrangement, and the professional dancing skills, every detail, every dancer demonstrates the perfect performance as a whole."
Mr. Lu believes that the performance also plays a role in dispelling evil and exalting virtue. "The dances show the standards by which to distinguish good from bad, righteousness and evil, and they display a noble spirit of upholding the truth. I heard about the persecution of Falun Gong from the news. I think beliefs should be respected, especially when the belief positively inspires people, teaches them to be good, and brings them satisfaction." With reference to justice and morality, Mr. Lu believes that only when people are allowed to live in harmony will these virtues be valued.
