(Clearwisdom.net) On February 1, 2008, New York's Radio City Music Hall hosted the third performance of the Chinese New Year Splendor. Although it rained all day, the foul weather did not lessen the audience's enthusiasm. Many of the audience members of various ethnicities took the train from other states to come see the show. In New York, a major world arts capital, overseas Chinese have shown that one Chinese show can cause people of all races to respond - a truly a remarkable event.

An artist who saw the show said, "New York, an international, cosmopolitan city, draws in the elite from all countries. Each nationality is eager to present their own culture to the world via this art capital. The Divine Performing Arts' shows are very ancient yet modern, and they will draw attention in the New York performing arts field for sure."
World-class viola player Mr. Eric Shumsky praised the Chinese New Year Splendor with enthusiasm beyond words. He said, "It was so grand, I will never forget this night I watched the Global Chinese New Year Splendor." He added, "The show presented plenty of talented performers. The choreography was splendid. The scenery presented original imagination and profound Chinese history. Adding the fascinating dancers, all of these elements made the show beautiful and meaningful."
Art School Teacher: Perfect Combination of Classical and Modern
Ms. Suzen is a teacher at the Institute of Art in New York. Upon the recommendation of friends, she attended the February show. She said "Every time the curtain opened, the audience saw a fantastic scene. The Divine Performing Arts Company presented many spiritual realms, from ancient to current. The opening dance is very traditional and classical, but some numbers manifested current societal problems. The costumes were very elegant. The scenery design used modern technologies, giving the show a perfect combination of classical and modern."
Different Nationalities in New York Praise Divine Performing Arts
Russian immigrant Avera (74 years old), and Zimar (80) said, "This is our second time watching the Chinese New Year Splendor." They said that they especially liked the beautiful music and dances.
Psychiatrist Elizabeth and her husband came all the way from South America. They said the Chinese dances were so different from their native dances, and were so peaceful. They like the magical Chinese culture and serene and relaxed style.
Mr. Sami, from India, works in finance on Wall Street. He took his whole family to watch the show on February 2, 2008. They all praised the performance. His mother, Ms. Duen, eagerly hoped that Divine Performing Arts would tour India, especially the financial center, Bombay, and the capital New Delhi.

New York pastor Francisco is an immigrant from Cuba. He said, "Thanks to these Chinese performers presenting this show in New York, people of different nationality and cultural background can all enjoy the show." He added, "The dance is very beautiful. I learned about the human rights persecution in China, which makes me think about my country."
Philippine immigrant Mr. Michael Ecal is a lawyer. He took his family of six to see the show that day. Mr. Ecal said, "The Splendor was just too good. My favorite was the drumming dance; it was so vigorous." His father, Dr. Ecal, said, "I went to China and saw many shows there, but none were as beautiful. The dances, costumes, and scenery were all so pretty!"
Through Word of Mouth, the Divine Performing Arts' Impact Expands
Retired nurse Ms. Gloria Butler said, "The performance was unbelievably good. This is our first time watching this show. We want to tell everyone at home how wonderful it is and to not miss it."
Mr. Eric Orava is an eye doctor in New York. He loved the Chinese New Year Spectacular last year and came back again this year. He said, "I especially like the dances because they are so beautiful."
Ms. Genn works in the finance field on Wall Street. She said, "The show is superbly excellent and colorful, with beautiful music and dances. It makes people so happy and relaxed."
Mr. Omar works at a New York Cable TV Station. He said, "I love this show because it has a cultural atmosphere."
Karen, who lives on Long Island, brought her five-year-old daughter adopted from China. She was amazed by the beauty of the costumes.
Besides the local audience, many came from the neighboring state of Connecticut. Tricia and her husband brought their four children with them. They boarded the train from Connecticut to come watch the Chinese New Year Splendor in New York.
Divine Performing Arts Glorious for Chinese People
Ms. Qian Ningna is the former New York Chinese Library Association Chair. She said after watching the show, that the Divine Performing Arts Splendor was marvelous because it enabled traditional Chinese culture to step into American mainstream society. She believes this helps China gain prominence in the world and is a glorious event for all Chinese people. Ms. Qian added, "The Splendor allows the world know more about Chinese culture. Only when people learn from each other can different cultures help all nationalities to be peaceful."
A graduate assistant, Ms. Lu saw the Holiday Wonders show last Christmas season at Beacon Theater. She brought her American friend Richard to see the Splendor today. Ms. Lu commented, "I can feel that the performers sacrificed a lot [to develop such skill]. It is not easy to make such an impact on American society."
