(Clearwisdom.net) Today's News from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 18 cities or counties in 8 provinces. In this report, 20 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention and at least 8 practitioners were "illegally arrested".
1. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Practitioner's Family Under Surveillance
Approximately six to eight plainclothes officers continue to stake out a practitioner's home at Unit 1, 100-1 South Lejiao Road in the Shenhe District, Shenyang City.
2. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Mr. Chen Guangsheng Turned in to the Police for Persuading Others to Quit Communist Party and Its Affiliated Organizations
Mr. Chen Guangsheng is a physician in Maling Village, Zihe Town, Zichuan District, Zibo City. He was turned in to the police for spreading information about the persecution and persuading others to withdraw from the Chinese Communist Party and its affiliated organizations. At around noon on September 16, 2008, seven plainclothes officers or officials broke into Mr. Chen's home. They confiscated a copy of Zhuan Falun and other items. At around 2:00 p.m. Mr. Chen was taken to a brainwashing center at the Zibo City Legal Education Center. At the same time, the police called Mr. Chen's son and daughter who work out of town, and demanded that they send in 3,000 yuan to cover their father's living expenses in the brainwashing center.
3. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Liu Lijie Taken into Custody
On the evening of September 28, 2008, Mr. Liu Lijie, from Xinbin County in Fushun City, was taken into custody in Wangqingmen Town, Xinbin County. The police confiscated his car and searched Mr. Liu's home. Mr. Liu Lijie is being held at the Xinbin County Detention Center.

4. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Ms. Ma Ping and Ms. Liu Yanfang Taken into Police Custody
Ms. Ma Ping and Ms. Liu Yanfang are employees of the China Agriculture Bank in Jinlin City. On the evening of September 30, they were taken into custody by the police while distributing materials with content about Falun Gong. The two practitioners have been taken to a detention center.
5. [Tianjin] New Persecution Crimes at the Dagang District Health Department
Since 1999, officials at the Dagang District Health Department in Tianjin have actively assisted the Communist Party in the persecution of several practitioners in the health department and subordinate organizations. Over the past nine years, they have expelled two practitioners and lowered several other practitioners' salaries. Recently, the officials have changed practitioner Mr. Guo Yonghong's position at the Dagang District Women and Children's Health Center. Mr. Guo's bonus was also taken away for the month.
6. [Tianjin] Domestic Security Officers in Tanggu Police Department Harass Ms. Xu Meizhen
On September 25, Yang Guanghui (gender unknown), of the Domestic Security Section of the Tanggu Police Department in Tianin, Wang Jianhua (male), an officer at the Donggu Police Station in the Bohai Petroleum Residential Community, and other officers broke into and unlawfully searched Ms. Xu Meizhen's home in the residential community.

7. [Hubei Province] Situation of Practitioners Held in Xiangfan City
Mr. Zhu Guangyuan and Mr. Chen Xinan have been taken to the Xiangfan City No. 2 Detention Center. Mr. Cheng Xiaobao, Mr. Zhang Yi, and Mr. Kong Xiangsheng have been taken to the Shayang Forced Labor Camp.
8. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Liu Jufen Held in Detention Center
On September 29, Ms. Liu Jufen, from Jintang County, was turned in to the authorities while talking to people about Falun Gong in Fuxing Town. At around 6:00 p.m. Ms. Liu was taken to the Jintang County Detention Center, where she still remains in custody.
9. [Shandong Province] Practitioners in Binzhou City Held in Custody
It has been reported that Ms. Wang Yuefang, Ms. Bian Suling, Ms. Shao Hong'e and Ms. Hu Jinfeng have been taken to the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp. The practitioners were taken from the farm fields near their homes and sent directly to a labor camp. Ms. Hu's child has been left at home alone. Ms. Su Cuirong, Mr. Gao Weichao and Ms. Zhang Xianghua have returned home.
10. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Xu Gui'e Taken into Custody
On the afternoon of September 9, Ms. Xu Gui'e in Qingshan District, Wuhan City, was taken into custody by the police, who were staked out at the Dianshi Computer School. She went there to sort out the clothes of a practitioner with the last name Zeng, who taught at the school and had been taken into police custody. Ms. Xu was taken to the Beihu Brainwashing Center in Qingshan District. Mr. Sun Yuqing was also held at the brainwashing center. He was taken there by officers from the 610 Office at the end of a 15-day administrative detention.
11. [Sihui City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Lin Liming Taken to Sanshui Forced Labor Camp
Two days before the Mid-Autumn Festival, on September 14, 2008, members of the 610 Office and officers from the Dongcheng Police Station unlawfully held Ms. Lin Liming in custody for two days. They tried to force Ms. Lin to sign a statement promising to stop practicing Falun Gong. Two days after the Mid-Autumn Festival, the police took Ms. Lin to the Sanshui Forced Labor Camp.
12. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Guo Chengyun Held in Custody
Ms. Guo Chengyun lives in the Beidao area in Zhifu District, Yantai City. In early August she was taken to the Zhifu District Legal Training Center for brainwashing. At the end of September, Ms. Guo was transferred to the Fushan Detention Center for further detention.
13. [Tieling City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Wu Bo's Wife Taken into Custody
On the evening of October 1, officers from the Daxing County Police Department in Changtu County, Tieling City tried to arrest Mr. Wu Bo, who lives in Bianjia Village. At around 8:00 p.m. the officers broke into Mr. Wu's home. Mr. Wu managed to escape. His wife was taken to the police station and their 11-year-old child was left at home alone.

14. [Nanyang City, Henan Province] Ms. He Tianqiong Forced to Leave Town by Domestic Security Officers in Zhenping County
Ms. He Tianqiong tends over an acre of farmland during the busy fall season because her husband and son work at odd jobs far from town. Ms. He's daughter-in-law is close to having a child, and she also has an eleven-year-old grandson.
At around 11:00 a.m. on September 12, a group of officers arrived in police cars to arrest her Ms. He. Ms. He was not at home. The police returned three more times in the following days. Ms. He is unable to return to her home.
