New York government officials of different levels sent congratulatory letters and proclamations through NTDTV to extend their Chinese New Year greetings to all Chinese around the world, and wish the Divine Performing Arts great success in its performances at Radio City Music Hall in New York. More than 70 Congressmen and Congresswomen, State Assemblymen and City Councilors sent congratulatory letters and proclamations to NTDTV and Divine Performing Arts.
The government officials included Ms. Jodi Rell, Governor of the State of Connecticut, Congressman Ed Towns of the 10th District of New York State, Congressman Charles Rangel, of the 15th District, Congresswoman Nita Lowey of District 18, Congressman Vito J. Fossella of the 13t h District, Congressman Michael R. McNulty of the 21st District, Lieutenant Governor of New York State David Paterson, Albany County District Attorney David Soares, New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli, several more New York State senators and representatives, New York City Councilor Christine Quinn and several more city councilors. They especially commended NTDTV and Divine Performing Arts for promoting authentic Chinese culture, and presenting pure Chinese culture, bringing the audience an outstanding experience, and providing a colorful stage for the cross-cultural exchange between the Eastern and Western societies.
The Governor of Connecticut, Ms. Jodi Rell, extended her warm greetings to the viewers of NTDTV. She commended all of the participants and performers in the 2008 Chinese New Year Splendor, and said the show "reaffirms the beauty and importance of traditional values and Chinese cultural heritage as an integral part of American multicultural society."
