1. [Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Mingyuan Tortured Almost to Death

Mr. Li Mingyuan has been tortured to near death in the Shenyang No. 1 Prison. His blood pressure reading was as high as 250. There is a shortage of blood going to his heart, and he is on oxygen. His wife went to the prison and demanded his release, but the authorities refused to release Mr. Li. When his wife went again the following day, the authorities threatened the wife, telling her they would not let her visit her husband in the future.

At around 9:00 p.m. on November 24, 2007, two female practitioners in Zhanjiang City were taken into custody while they were posting self-adhesive signs in Xiashan District. About seven police officers searched their homes around 11:00 p.m. the same night. The police confiscated a Falun Dafa book.

Ms. Ma Lianzhen, 64, is from the Laochengnanguan area in Suixi County In April 2006, she was turned in to the police for clarifying the truth. Officers of the Laocheng Police Station in Suixi County detained her for five days.

On July 14, 2007, Ms. Ma was turned in to the police by security guards at the gate house for distributing truth-clarification materials at the Zhongrui Farm Market in Suixi County. Zhou Weixiang, director of the Laocheng Police Station, and other officers took her into custody. Ms. Ma was detained at the county detention center. On October 12, the county court placed Ms. Ma on trial and unlawfully sentenced her to three years in prison. She was taken to the Suzhou Women's Prison on December 20.

On December 2, 2007, Ms. Sun Jifen was taken into custody by the local police while she was clarifying the truth at a farm market in Lijianugu Village under the jurisdiction of Liuting Neighborhood Administration Office. The police also took the bicycle she used for transportation. Ms. Sun is being held at the Dashan Detention Center in Qingdao City.

On December 22, 2007, Zhang Yanguang (male) and other officers of the Zhougezhuang Police Station in Damoujia Town climbed over a wall, entered Ms. Wei Shuping's home in Shijiazhuangzi Village, and took her into custody. The officers confiscated Falun Dafa books and took Ms. Wei's husband, Mr. Sun Yongliang, and her brother-in-law, Mr. Sun Yongxin, who is not a practitioner, to the Zhougezhuang Police Station. Ms. Wei was taken to the Gaomi Detention Center. Mr. Sun Yongliang and Mr. Sun Yongxin were released the same day. Also on December 22, the police took another female practitioner in Huaijia Village to the Gaomi Detention Center.

11. [Wangqing County, Jilin Province] Ms. Wu Yingzi Taken into Custody

Ms. Wu Yingzi of Korean nationality is around 60 years old. At about 4:00 p.m. on December 25, 2007, she was turned in to the police while distributing truth-clarification materials. Officers of the Wangqing Town Police Station in Wangqing County made the arrest.

12. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Liu Desheng Held in the Daqing City No. 5 Detention Center

On December 20, 2007, Feng Haibo (male), head of the Daqing City Domestic Security Division, Liu Tianwei (male), head of the 610 Office, and half a dozen other officers arrived at Mr. Liu Desheng's home. They confiscated a notebook computer, a DVD burner, and 101 discs. The police took Mr. Liu into custody. Mr. Liu Desheng, 63, is being held in the Daqing City No. 5 Detention Center. He has been on a protest hunger strike since the first day he was taken into custody.

13. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Haibo and Mr. Zhang Liang Unlawfully Sentenced to One Year of Forced Labor

On November 9, 2007, Mr. Wang Haibo and Mr. Zhang Liang from the Hanting area were taken into custody by the Weifang police and Domestic Security officers while they were at work at the Weifang City Shanghai-Style Food Factory. A dozen other practitioners, including Mr. Sun Guanxin, were also taken into custody at the same time. The practitioners have been taken to Weifang Detention Center. The police also tried to extort cash from Mr. Wang Haibo's family but were unsuccessful, as only elderly people living in dire conditions were at home at the time. According to people familiar with the case, Mr. Wang Haibo and Mr. Zhang Liang have been sentenced to one year of forced labor and were taken to the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp.

14. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Mr. Huang Yade Recently Sentenced to Three and a Half Years of Forced Labor

On June 1, 2007, Mr. Huang Yade was taken into custody. He has been held at the Songshan District Detention Center and was recently sentenced to three and a half years of forced labor. Mr. Huang is appealing his case.

15. [Shuangyashan City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Wang Haiyang and Ms. Dong Mingfen Taken into Custody

On December 19, 2007, Mr. Wang Haiyang went to visit Ms. Dong Mingfen, who is in her 60s and lives in the Nanxiaoshi area in Jianshan District, Shuangyashan City. The officers that had Ms. Dong's home under surveillance took Mr. Wang and Ms. Dong into custody. Ms. Dong was home alone at the time. The officers ransacked the place and took into their possession cash that belonged to Ms. Dong's daughter-in-law. The police also took Mr. Wang's computer, which he used for work.

Two years ago, on March 8, 2006, Ms. Dong and three other practitioners were taken into custody while they were studying the Fa as a group. The police took the portrait of the founder of Falun Gong and other materials.

Mr. Wang Haiyang, in his 30s, is a Falun Gong practitioner in the Qixingkuang area. A previous incident occurred in May 2001 when the Police Patrolling Branch in Shuangyashan City took Mr. Wang, Mr. Pan Xingfu, and Mr. Ji Songshan into custody. Practitioners Mr. Pan and Mr. Ji both died as a result of police brutality.

On September 3, 2007, Bai Lianna (female), head of the No. 6 Division at Beijing Women's Forced Labor Camp, ordered four inmates who were drug addicts to torture practitioner Ms. Lin Shuying. The inmates tried to coerce Ms. Lin into writing the so-called Three Statements. The four inmates pasted paper strips with slanderous curses written about the founder of Falun Gong all over her body. They took turns grabbing Ms. Lin's hands to prevent her from pulling the paper off herself. The abuse lasted until late that night. Everyone imprisoned along the corridor heard Ms. Lin's continuous outcries. Ms. Lin's forearms were bruised and she also lost a tooth.

19. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] More Information on the Persecution of Ms. Teng Wenzhi and Mr. Wang Zhi

Ms. Teng Wenzhi, 58, lives on Jiushou Street in Pulandian City under the jurisdiction of Dalian City. On the evening of July 3, Ms. Teng went to Nanwang Village in Pulandian City to distribute truth-clarification materials. She was turned in to the authorities. Zhou Xingyan (male), the village head, led a group of villagers to take Ms. Teng into custody and then called the police. Liu Fujun (male), the village Party Secretary, and some villagers beat practitioner Mr. Wang Zhi, who drove a mini-sized passenger car to Nanwang Village. Mr. Wang was injured and thrown on the roadside. Liu and the villagers took the car. Later, the Pulandian City Domestic Security Division held the car and parked it at the Hua'ershan Police Station in the courtyard for unauthorized use. The police never returned the car to Mr. Wang nor did they issue any paperwork.

Ms. Teng Wenzhi was held at the Pulandian Detention Center for over five months. Her family has been denied visits. Her husband became sick and was diagnosed with late stage terminal lung cancer. The children have quit their jobs in order to take care of their father. Ms. Teng's elderly mother is constantly in tears.

20. [Mei County, Guangdong Province] Mr. Luo Jinrong and Ms. Zhang Lixia Taken into Custody by Police Staking Out Public Areas

In recent months, plainclothes officers from the Chengjiang Police Station in Mei County, Meizhou City, have been dispatched numerous times to stake out public areas in order to capture Falun Gong practitioners. On the afternoon of February 19, 2007, Mr. Luo Jinrong and Ms. Zhang Liwen were captured by plainclothes police officers on a stakeout. Mr. Luo and Ms. Zhang were taken to the Chengjiang Police Station in Mei County and transferred to the Fuda Detention Center the following day.

21. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhang Weihua on Hunger Strike Protesting Unlawful Detention in Brainwashing Center

On November 18, 2007, Ms. Zhang Weihua was "unlawfully detained" by the Xindu District Police Department in Chengdu City. On December 11, she was taken to a brainwashing center. Ms. Zhang went on a hunger strike to protest her detention. She was subsequently taken to the Jinniu District People's Hospital in Chengdu City. Four people have been assigned to monitor her. Ms. Zhang Weihua has been on hunger strike for over a month.

22. [Liaoning Province] Mr. Feng Guofu Brutally Tortured at Masanjia Forced Labor Camp

Mr. Feng Guofu, 38, is from the Lingbei area in Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province. He was unlawfully taken to a forced labor camp in 2005. On October 16, 2007, Mr. Feng was taken into custody again, this time by Mohudian Police Station officers for distributing truth-clarification materials. He was sentenced to six months of forced labor after being held in Lingyuan City Detention Center for over three weeks. Mr. Feng is being held at No. 6 Division in Institute No. 2 of Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. He has been on a protest hunger strike for over a month. Wang Zhengjie, the division head, and another labor camp guard handcuffed Mr. Feng to an iron chair for an extended period of time and continuously prodded Mr. Feng with electric shocks for over half an hour. The guards directed labor camp inmates to slap Mr. Feng a dozen times. Each day, Mr. Feng Guofu is being force-fed. He is in a very weak condition, his blood pressure has gone up, and both his legs are swollen.

23. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Ms. Cui Xiaoxian and Two Other Practitioners Unlawfully Put on Trial

On December 24, 2007, the Li County Court in Baoding City placed Ms. Cui Xiaoxian, Ms. Feng Wenzhen, and Ms. Cui Shumei on trial. The defending attorneys convincingly argued that all the so-called "evidence" against them had been fabricated. Due to lack of evidence, the trial was quickly adjourned. The police took the practitioners away.

24. [Xifeng County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Yang Guoquan Faces Unlawful Prison Term

On October 8, 2007, Mr. Yang Guoquan was working at home in his orchard in Songshu Village, Gaojiadian Town, Xifeng County. Chen Biao (male) and two other officers from the Xifeng County 610 Office and the Domestic Security Division took Mr. Yang to the Xifeng County Detention Center and tortured him brutally. They fabricated some reports concerning his arrest, which were submitted to Section No. 1 of the county Procuratorate. The reports were rejected. The officers re-submitted the reports to Section No. 2, which took the reports and filed them with Xifeng County Court. The court officials are planning to escalate the persecution against Mr. Yang Guoquan.

Since the persecution began, Mr. Yang has been steadfast in his belief in "Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance." He has persisted in clarifying the truth and as a result, he was taken to Tieling Forced Labor Camp and served three years of forced labor. The police have also constantly harassed him at his home.

25. [Dehui County, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhu Hongxia's Whereabouts Unknown after Being Taken into Custody

On June 10, 2007, Ms. Zhu Hongxia from Dehui County, Changchun City, was taken into custody in a rented store-front in Liaocheng City, Shandong Province by officers of the Dongchangfu District 610 Office and the Domestic Security Division. On December 22, 2007, members of the Dehui City 610 Office took her away from Liaocheng City. Ms. Zhu Hongxia's whereabouts are unknown.

26. [Jingmen City, Hubei Province] Ms. Chai Yuhua Unreasonably Dismissed by Petro-Chemical Newspaper

Ms. Chai Yuhua, around 50 years old, is an employee of the Jingmen Petro-Chemical Company. She was permanently laid off in 2001 and was receiving compensation based on her years of service. A few months ago, Ms. Chai found a job delivering the Jingmen Petro-Cheminal Newspaper. She was recently dismissed on the grounds that she practices Falun Gong.

Ms. Chai Yuhua was unlawfully sentenced to four years in prison in 2002. She was unemployed for over a year after being released from prison.

27. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Gu Zhengkai Taken into Custody

Mr. Gu Zhengkai, 53, lives in Room 301, No. 10 Xianhe Lane, Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province. On December 17, 2007, he was taken into custody while posting truth-clarification signs on his way to work. On December 25, Mr. Gu was taken to the city's brainwashing center. The police searched his home as well the home his mother, Ms. Zhang Xihua, confiscating Falun Dafa books and cassette tapes. On the morning of December 26, the police took Ms. Zhang from Mr. Gu's home for questioning.

On December 19, 2007, Mr. Xue Xinkai was transferred from Yingkou Prison to Benxi Prison. By December 26, Mr. Xue's family had not received any notification of his whereabouts. His family finally learned that Mr. Xue was being held at the No. 1 Ward in Benxi Prison. The prison authorities have not allowed Mr. Xue's family to visit him because he refuses to be "transformed."

At 9:00 a.m. on December 21, 2007, Ms. Cui Ningning, a young girl who lives in Longmensuo Town in Chicheng County, was home alone. Her parents were out doing odd jobs. Three men suddenly broke in and searched her home. The three men took Falun Dafa books, Falun Gong exercises cassettes, and some brochures.

33. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Numerous Practitioners in Mengyin County Taken into Custody

On December 19, 2007, Ms. Wang Fafeng, a practitioner in Zhoujiagouzi Village, Mengyin Town, Mengyin County, and the wife of Mr. Zhang Jiafu, a practitioner in Tangjiazhuangzi Village in Jiuzhai Township, were turned in to the authorities while they were distributing truth-clarification materials in Jiuzhai Township. Officers of the Jiuzhai Township Police Station took them into custody. On the afternoon of December 20, officers of the Jiuzhai Township Police Station took into custody the two female practitioners' husbands, Mr. Li Zongping and Mr. Zhang Jiafu. The police also searched the practitioners' homes. Mr. Li Zongping is being held in Mengyin Detention Center. His wife, Ms. Wang Fafeng's, whereabouts are unknown. The police then took into custody Mr. Li Yuxiang and Mr. Lu Wenjiang and searched their homes. The officers took a microwave oven and other electronic appliances from Mr. Lu's home. Officers of the Jiuzhai Township Police Station and members of the Jiuzhai Township 610 Office viciously beat Mr. Li Yuxiang, who is in his 70s. Mr. Li Yuxiang, Mr. Zhang Jiafu, and Mr. Lu Wenjiang were released after the police extorted 10,000 yuan from each of their families.

34. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Jiayuan and Mr. Zhao Guotao Taken to Zhangshi Brainwashing Center

Ms. Liu Jiayuan, a practitioner in Huanggu District, Shenyang City, was turned in to the police while she was clarifying the truth. Officers of the Youyi Police Station in Huanggu District took her to Zhangshi Brainwashing Center, where she has been held for over two weeks. Mr. Zhao Guotao has also been taken to the Zhangshi Brainwashing Center by officers from the Youyi Police Station.

Ms. Du Shuxin, in her 60s, is a practitioner in Hanzhong City, Shaanxi Province. At around 7:00 p.m. on November 23, 2007, Ms. Du was turned in to the police and taken into custody while she was distributing truth-clarification DVDs in Hanzhong City. Ms. Du is being held at the Fengjing Road Detention Center in Hantai District.

36. [Chenggu County, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Zhao Xia Unlawfully Held in a Detention Center

Ms. Zhao Xia, in her 40s, is a practitioner in Chenggu County, Shaanxi Province. She is an official at the Chenggu County Archive Department. Around mid-September 2007, she was turned in to the authorities and taken into custody for clarifying the truth in Mian County, Shaanxi Province. Ms. Zhao is being held at the Fengjing Road Detention Center in Hantai District, Hanzhong City.

At around 4:00 p.m. on December 22, 2007, Chen Yaolin (male), an officer of the Chengjiao Police Station, and members of the Chuzhou District 610 Office in Huai'an City took into custody Ms. Zhu Xiaofang, Ms. Chen Meizhi, Mr. Zhu Jianhua, and Mr. Mr. Pan Kaibo. The police also searched the practitioners' homes.

On the evening of December 23, 2007, officers of the Chengzhong Police Station and members of the Chuzhou District 610 Office took into custody Ms. Yuan Aifang. They took Ms. Yuan to the Huaiyang Hotel, where officers tortured her on a Tiger Bench.

39. [Liaoning Province] Mr. Ouyang Hongbo Held at Shenyang Prison Complex

At around 11:00 a.m. on December 18, 2007, Ms. Zhang Meifang was taken from her home by unidentified people. Her whereabouts remain unknown.

42. [Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Additional Information on Ms. Zhang Guihua, Who Was Taken into Custody

Ms. Zhang Guihua, around 58 years old, lives in Xi'an Village, Heilongba Town, Kailu County, Tongliao City. On November 10, 2007, she and her husband, Mr. Xiong Shuyuan, 58, who is not a practitioner, were taken into custody at their home by officers from the Heilongba Town Police Station and members of the Kailu County 610 Office. The police also confiscated a computer, a printer, and Falun Dafa materials. Mr. Xiong has been released after the police extorted 30,000 yuan from him. Ms. Zhang remains in custody.

43. [Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Female Practitioner Xiaohui in Kailu County Taken into Custody

Around November 1, 2007, officers from the Heilongba Town Police Station in Kailu County, Tongliao City, and members of the Kailu County 610 Office broke into the home of a female practitioner with the first name of Xiaohui in Yushulin Village, Kailu County. The police took Falun Dafa books and materials. Xiaohui, who is in her 30s, was later arrested. She is being held in a prison in Tongliao City.

On November 15, 2007, local residential police officers took in to custody Ms. Zhao Shuhua in Yushulin Village, Heilongba Town. Ms. Zhao was able to get away from the control of the police with righteous thoughts and righteous actions.

44. [Hubei Province] Practitioners Unlawfully Sentenced to Prison Transferred to Fanjiatai Prison in Shayang County

At around 3:00 p.m. on December 5, 2007, Changyi City police and members of the 610 Office suddenly broke into the home Mr. Yan Jingsan, a practitioner in Dayan Village, Buzhuang Town. The police took a printer, a photocopier, Falun Dafa books, and other materials. They called in a dozen more officers, who arrived and took Mr. Yan, 57, and his wife into custody. Mr. Yan's wife was released the following day. Mr. Yan is being held at the city detention center. Thirteen days after being taken into custody, the police searched his son's home. Although they did not find anything, the son, who is not a practitioner, was taken into custody and released the following day only after he argued for his release.

48. [Binzhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Gai Jianying Taken into Custody

Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Gai Jianying, 51, works at the Binzhou City Communications Company. On the evening of December 23, 2007, officers of the Binzhou City Police Department took her into custody. The officers searched her home the same night.
