Whereas, this day marks the celebration of Falun Dafa (or Falun Gong), and honors its founder, Li Hongzhi, who introduced this ancient practice of mind and body cultivation in 1992 to the general public, and which has since grown to be practiced in over 60 countries worldwide; and
Whereas, the benefits of practicing Falun Dafa are numerous and varied, ranging from improved health and newfound energy, to mental clarity, stress relief and peace of mind, reaching beyond the pursuit of health and fitness to the goal of great wisdom and enlightenment; and
Whereas, studies have shown Falun Dafa to have significant effects in disease healing and health promotion, benefiting people both physically and mentally and offering self-refinement of both mind and body.
Now, Therefore, I, Rita L. Mullins, do hereby proclaim Sunday, May 13, 2007 as World Falun Dafa Day in the Village of Palatine and wish them well in their activities.
