(Clearwisdom.net) My mother-in-law has been practicing Falun Dafa for many years, but she wasn't very diligent until last year. Now she regularly practices the exercises, studies the Fa every day, and reads "Minghui Weekly." Furthermore, she seizes the time to clarify the truth and persuade people to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and it's affiliated organizations.
I'm very glad to see that she has improved greatly in cultivation. Previously, she didn't understand the importance of clarifying the truth, and she sometimes told me that it was unnecessary to clarify the truth to so and so, believing that it wouldn't make a difference because she thought the person wouldn't listen.
Because of her improvement in cultivation, she and I now have more experiences to share with each other. She often asks me questions because I've been practicing longer than her, which is not to say that I've cultivated better than she has, but I try to answer her questions based on my own understanding. Sometimes she doesn't understand my answers right away, but she usually sees my point after a few days. In this way, we've formed a cultivation environment. For my part, I've been touched by her diligence. Sometimes when I come home, I find her sending righteous thoughts, so I join her without hesitation.
Owing to her diligence, my mother-in-law can get through tribulations in cultivation more easily. In 2005, my employer threatened to dismiss me. She didn't complain, but instead she supported me. Her eldest daughter asked her, "What if he's dismissed?" My mother-in-law replied, "How could that happen? And even if it does, he can easily make lots of money, as smart as he is." Although what she said didn't completely negate the old forces' arrangements, her words encouraged me to get through the tribulation. With Teacher's compassionate care, I finally got through it and kept my job. Of course, it's no coincidence that my mother-in-law witnessed my tribulation, as it was a chance for her to improve.
My mother-in-law has five daughters, and her husband passed away a long time ago. The difficulties she experienced forged her bad temper. There is often friction between a mother and her daughters, especially during the Chinese New Year when they are all together, but this year was different. My mother-in-law kept smiling all day long despite the inappropriate behavior of some of her daughters. She maintained her xinxing and didn't get angry the way she used to.
She has become more diligent. After she finishes her housework, she begins to do the exercises. She reads Minghui Weekly and sends forth righteous thoughts hourly.
Of course, there's no such thing as smooth sailing in cultivation. One day, just as I arrived at work, she called me and asked me to come home immediately. Her voice sounded normal, and I thought perhaps another practitioner needed to see me, but when I got home, I found her in bed. She said, "I'm having a tribulation. I felt a little faint while I was washing the clothes, and I lost my balance. I held on to the water pipe, and one side of my body was out of control, but I wasn't scared. I said, 'Falun Dafa is good!' I was able to move slowly to the bed. I thought I should call you, but I couldn't reach the phone. I kept saying, 'Falun Dafa is good,' though, and I was finally able to get my legs on the bed. I still wanted to call you, since we're both Dafa practitioners and I knew you'd understand. It took me four tries before I succeeded in dialing the right number... but I knew I could make the call!"
She added that parts of her hands and arms were still numb, but she was sure it was going to be okay. Her thoughts were very righteous. I said, "You did well, and it's due to your diligence in cultivation. Do you remember how the practitioner mentioned in Zhuan Falun didn't get through it when he suffered the symptoms of a stroke because of a lack of righteous thoughts? You did well, and you can break through the tribulation of life and death." Her righteous thoughts became stronger, and she said, "There's no problem. You should go back to work!"
I am so happy for her, and I hope she becomes even more diligent in Dafa cultivation.
