(Clearwisdom.net) I was recently arrested while distributing truth clarifying materials. With Masters benevolent protection, I came out of the detention center gracefully and righteously in two weeks. I would like to share my experience here with fellow practitioners.
On January 4, I went to a village in Northeastern China to distribute truth clarifying materials. Because my righteous thoughts were not strong enough, a villager reported me and a police car followed me. By the time I noticed the police car, it was too late for me to escape. At the time I was not afraid at all. I made up my mind not to corporate with the evil and in my mind I asked Master to help me. Four police officers hit me and kicked me. They covered up my head and took me to the police station.
After taking away all the materials about the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party from me, the police started to interrogate me. I continued sending forth righteous thoughts and did not answer any of their questions. The police beat me and threatened, "We could consider releasing you if you cooperate. If not, you will be in big trouble once we send you to the police department." No matter what they said, I did not tell them anything. When they took a picture of me, I also did not cooperate. Finally they wrote a statement about the materials they found on me and asked me to sign or finger-print it. I refused this as well. At about 3:00 p.m. they sent me to the City Police Department.
Once I arrived at the police department, I realized that this was a great opportunity to eliminate the evil from a short distance, so I focused on sending forth righteous thoughts. No matter what the police said or did, I continued sending forth righteous thoughts. After a long time, a young police officer asked me, "We said so much to you, how come you did not say a word? What are you thinking? Are you thinking, When disciples have ample righteous thoughts, Master has the power to turn back the tide'?" ("The Master-Disciple Bond" from Hong Yin II) I nodded with a smile, surprised that a policeman could recite phrases from Hong Yin. I immediately realized it was Master using the police officer to enlighten me, I felt much more confident.
I stayed at the police department for about two hours, and did not say a word. Finally they wrote a short statement about me and sent me to the detention center.
Upon arriving at the detention center I was ordered to fill out a form. Since they did not know anything about me, they had to write "unknown" for the name. Later the guard gave me two pages of paper, telling me it was the rules of the detention center and that I should study them well. I refused to take them. The guard forced me, and I refused again. The guard then hit me, and I still did not take them. The guard took a uniform and told me to change, I refused. The guard said, "Everyone coming to the center must wear this." I said, "It is illegal to imprison me, I do not acknowledge this, I will not wear the uniform of a prisoner." The guard pushed me into the cell.
In the following days, the guards tried to force me many times to wear the uniform. They did not even let me eat for several meals to force me, and I felt this was a very important issue, so I refused. The guards gave up. Every day before meals, the prisoners must count off. I did not comply. The guard asked me "Why did you not count?" I answered, "I am not a prisoner, and I will not count." Some guards were very angry about this and did not let me eat, yet I refused to count. Sometimes the guard would make prisoners sit in lines, I always refused, either by facing a different direction, or staying out of the lines. At that time, I was the only Falun Gong practitioner in the detention center, and I refused to wear the uniform, refused to count or follow any other instructions. The prisoners all said, "Falun Gong is powerful."
The detention center is in a one-story building, and its temperature at night is quite low. The beds are all cold hard wood. The prisoners who did not pay money could not get any bedding and had to sleep on the hard wood beds. I was not wearing winter pants or a sweater and only had a pair of thin underpants, a vest and a thin coat. I slept on the hard wood floor in my clothing. Later a prisoner left me with his blankets when he left. I soon gave them to other new incoming prisoners. During most of the two weeks I was there, I slept on the hard wood bed without any bedding. Other prisoners complained about back pains and leg pains caused by the uncomfortable beds. Some even got colds and fevers, yet I felt very normal. My inmates were all impressed by how healthy I was. I said, "It was all because of Falun Gong." I told them I suffered many diseases before, and had severe back pain and leg pain, and that all my pains disappeared when I began practicing Falun Gong, and I had not taken any medicines for ten years. The inmates all said, "Falun Gong is really powerful, we believe now."
At the detention center, I sent a strong thought asking Master to help me eliminate all the evil factors there. I was the only Dafa practitioner imprisoned and I spent all my time sending forth righteous thoughts except for the time to eat, sleep and clarifying the truth about Dafa. I talked to inmates about withdrawing from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) related organizations. Eleven inmates agreed to withdraw, one of them even requested to withdraw his children, and he was sure his children would agree to withdraw. As a result, thirteen people were saved.
Master emphasized the importance of studying the Fa. In the detention center, I felt regret that I did not study the Fa well enough to remember Zhuan Falun. Luckily I could remember "Lun Yu" and the poems in Hong Yin. Every morning from 3:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. I recited "Lun Yu" and Hong Yin several times. I continued to correct myself with the Fa to keep my righteous thoughts strong.
January 19 was the sixteenth day after I was arrested. At 2:00 p.m. the guard said they would release me. At the office, the guard asked me to write an "I owe you" note for the meals and other fees. He said, "We will not collect any money from you, we will not ask your name either. All you need to do is write a note so that we could account for it." I realized this was another trick of the evil, and writing such a note means I acknowledged the illegal imprisonment. I "owe" them if I do not pay for the meals? I refused. He said, "You ate the food, why dont you write the note?" I said, "I should not be here to eat any meal at all, it was illegal for you to imprison me, I do not owe anyone." The guard was very angry, "You cannot leave if you do not write the note." I was sent back to the cell, all the inmates said to me, "You need not be so careful, it was just a note." I said, "This is a principle. They illegally imprisoned me, and I do not owe them, they owe me. They can not control when I leave here."
Later I looked inwards and asked myself why I could not leave? I remembered there were three inmates who did not withdraw from CCP related organizations yet. I talked to them immediately and two of them agreed to withdraw. Two more persons were saved. At about 8:00 p.m. the guard called me out of the cell and let me go. He did not say a word about the "I owe you" note at all. Finally, I left the detention center gracefully and righteously.
