Three of Mr. Cao Jiwei's Relatives Arrested by 610 Office Head When Requesting a Family Visit

(Clearwisdom.net) On the afternoon of February 22, 2007, Deputy Head of the Loucun Township Police Sub-station Wang Jinshi and his men arrested practitioners Mr. Li Zhenfang and Mr. Cao Jiwei. The police confiscated 5,800 yuan and other valuables worth 3,000 yuan. Wang Jinshi cruelly beat Mr. Cao Jiwei. He pulled his hair, slapped his face, and stepped on his hand and ground it into the gravel. He then tied a rope around his neck and pulled it tight. He also took off Mr. Cao's shoes, threw them away, and ordered him to walk barefooted to the police substation. Upon arrival at the substation they continued to beat Mr. Cao before taking him to the Laishui County Detention Center where he was beaten again. Mr. Cao's eyes were black and blue and swollen shut.

They could hardly believe that standing in front of them was their beloved son and brother that they had been missing for many days. Mr. Zhang Guoli was so thin and disfigured that he was almost unrecognizable. The moment he stepped into the room, he fell down and lost consciousness.

Practitioners in the Binhai Development Zone of Weifang City, Shangdong Province Were Persecuted (23 Cases)

Since the persecution began on July 20, 1999, certain divisions of the Binhai (formerly Haihua) Development Zone government and Haihua Corporation, especially the Haihua Public Security Sub-bureau, have not ceased torturing and mistreating practitioners. More than 50 practitioners have been arrested and detained without legal justification. Of these practitioners, eight have been taken to forced labor camps, around ten have lost their jobs, and some were fired. Practitioners have suffered abuse or even worse �" torture. Officers tortured them during interrogation in an attempt to extract confessions, and many practitioners were also fined. Every practitioner in that area has been subjected to brainwashing tactics. They have suffered physical and mental trauma because of the continued harassment.
