(Clearwisdom.net) I am a farmer from Hunan Province. It's our benevolent Teacher, Mr. Li Hongzhi, who saved my husband and me, gave us new lives and taught us to be better people.
Prior to practicing Falun Gong I was troubled by all kinds of illnesses. I suffered from frequent headaches, dizziness and general infirmity. In 2000 my headaches got worse and I frequently had nausea and vomiting. Later I was diagnosed with a brain tumor. According to my doctor, I needed brain surgery, but there was no way to guarantee my safety during and after surgery, and I would have to make a down payment of 30,000 yuan for the operation. I'm a farmer with very limited financial resources and I'd already spent all of my savings on medical treatments trying to cure my illnesses. I had no choice but to go home and hope for the best.
While I awaited my fate, my cousin came to visit me. He told me, "Since no medication can save you now, why don't you join me in practicing Falun Gong? It's very good. As long as you follow the teachings of Falun Gong sincerely and do the daily studying and exercises, Teacher will take care of you. All your incurable diseases will be cured. I have brought you this priceless book, Zhuan Falun. Read it and you'll get better." He was so confident and sincere. I said to myself, "I'm dying anyway. Since Falun Gong is said to be so powerful, why not give it a try? I've got nothing to lose."
I started reading Zhuan Falun. There were many characters in the book that I didn't know, so my husband taught me those words. After I finished the first three chapters, I started having symptoms of diarrhea, but I was able to tolerate it. I gradually felt better and I knew that Teacher was cleansing my body and helping me get rid of my illness karma. My cousin had explained those things to me in general terms, and I'd learned something of them from reading the first chapters. From then on I felt more and more confident.
After I finished reading all nine chapters of the book, I could participate in indoor activities and the mental pressure from my deadly illness disappeared. The symptoms of headache, dizziness and swelling in my face and head also showed clear improvement. Sometimes when I was deeply absorbed in reading the book, I could see the characters glowing with a golden light at the edges. I knew it was Teacher encouraging me and reinforcing my confidence in learning the teachings of Falun Gong. After a few months I could almost read the whole book without difficulty. By then my health had fully recovered and I'd reached the state of no illness; I felt perfect. I finally experienced the happiness that can only be known by a healthy person.
In August of 2005 my husband suddenly felt a shock through his body. Then his limbs felt numb and he became hemiplegic. He had a stroke, as it turned out. I told my husband, "You should join me in practicing Falun Gong. You know how sick I was, yet I was cured by Falun Gong. Now is the right time for you to start practicing Falun Gong." My husband had witnessed my illnesses being cured and agreed to take my advice. From then on we were both Falun Gong practitioners and read the book daily. In just a few short months my husband had fully recovered.
Now my family enjoys harmony and health. Both my husband and I practice Falun Gong.
We also know many aged practitioners. They are all doing the three things our Teacher asked us to do. Teacher said in Zhuan Falun, "It doesn't matter how early on someone took up the practice, he's still a disciple." Although my husband and I are relatively new practitioners, we want to keep up and clarify the truth to save sentient beings.
Teacher, please rest assured that we diligently improve along the path of validating the Fa. We will do well the three things you've asked of us, and we will be worthy of your boundless benevolence.
