Before China officially launched its campaign of persecution on July 20, 1999, I had a good job. However, when the persecution started, I went to Beijing to appeal for the injustice done to Falun Gong and its practitioners. Subsequently, I was forced to give up my job. For the last few years, I stayed at home. After reading Teacher's lecture "Teaching the Fa at the Fa Conference at the U.S. Capital," I felt that I need to find work, meet more people, and help save those with a karmic relationship.
In the past, I looked down on cleaners. Apparently Master must have sensed my attachment and purposely sent someone to offer me a job as a cleaner. In the past, I would not have accepted this job. However, with the intention of saving more people, I accepted with reluctance. In the beginning, I tried to hide my face. After a while, the feeling of "losing face" gradually faded away. I remembered some practitioners in the past had refused to take up some jobs. I now realize that was not in accordance with the Fa. We should follow the Fa to rectify irregularities and integrate with our families and society. In all situations, we need to consider the Fa and all the sentient beings that need to be saved.
Two months quickly passed. I could feel that Teacher was directing me to meet different people so I could clarify the truth to them. The place where I work is quite busy. Andy, an electrician repairing street lights, had been greeting me good morning for the last few days. I understood that Teacher had sent him to me so I could clarify the truth. I lost no time returning my greetings and started a conversation. That led Andy to resign his Communist Party membership. Two days later, Andy came to work with Bill. Knowing well now why he had come, I clarified the truth to Bill and convinced him to relinquish his Party membership as well. One happy thing was that both of them wanted to read Zhuan Falun. I gave them each a copy.
The next day, Charlie joined the workforce. After helping him to give up his Party membership, Charlie said that he had already read Zhuan Falun and had even seen Faluns appear before him. But because of the thought, "I will practice in my next life," he stopped. I told him that this was an opportunity of a lifetime. Charlie then asked where he could get a copy of the book. I hesitated for a moment and gave him my own copy, which I had had with me for the last seven or eight years.
I had difficulty persuading people to resign from Party membership one day, Teacher then arranged for three people to come to me. All of them resigned from their Party memberships and decided to take up cultivation as well.
I cannot help laughing to myself about another incident. There was an old fellow I keep running into. I purposely avoided him because he had a loud voice and I was afraid that others might overhear our conversation. This morning it was very foggy and he came looking for me again. Suddenly I realized that he was here to hear the truth. I clarified the truth, helped him with resigning from the Party, and he left happily.
To uphold Dafa and to help save more people and more fellow practitioners, we must be more aware of the people around us. They are sent by Teacher.
