(Clearwisdom.net) The Central News Agency (CNA) reported on December 14, 2007 that New Tang Dynasty's (NTDTV) Holiday Wonders shows were warmly received last year in over 30 cities around the world, including New York. This year, they will expand to over 60 cities including New York, Baltimore, and Tampa. The Taiwan section was scheduled to hold over 20 shows in April 2008. NTDTV and Divine Performing Arts of New York hope to bring dance performances that truly represent Chinese culture to China in the future.
The programs and cast of the Holiday Wonders this year are even stronger than those of last year. The US performances will begin on the evening of December 18 and continue through December 26. In addition to the Beacon Theatre of Manhattan, New York, the performances will be presented in Baltimore, Tampa, Atlanta and other cities.
NTDTV held a press conference today to explain their plan for the Holiday Wonders performance tour this year. Chinese tenor Guan Guimin said that the shows will present performances completely different from that of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), and will focus on pure and authentic Chinese culture. It will also display an integration of Western and Eastern arts.
Mr. Guan believes that Divine Performing Arts and its unique choreographies, gorgeous costumes, and large digitally animated backdrops will bring the audience a refreshing experience of Chinese culture.
Actor Wang Xuejun from Divine Performing Arts said that the CCP advocates atheism, and denies the connection between religions, gods and Chinese culture. However, in NTDTV's shows, the reverence for Heaven and gods is manifested in all the performances. Lead dancer Vina Lee emphasized that Chinese classical dance, which is truthful and beautiful and has the cultural characteristics of 5000 years of history, will bring authentic Chinese culture to the international audience.
Regarding the large group of more than 300 people and the global performance tour in over 60 cities, production manager Chen Ying thanked all the donors who supported the troupe behind-the-scenes. She also hoped that people from all walks of life in China and abroad would continue their support for NTDTV shows, allowing the international community to see cultural programs that are different from those of the CCP, which only praise the Communist Party. They would like to promote authentic Chinese culture.
Since 2004 when NTDTV hosted Chinese New Year Spectacular shows, and since last year when NTDTV held the Holiday Wonders shows around the world for the first time, they have received rave reviews. There are more and more sponsors and people wanting to join Divine Performing Arts.
The CCP has attempted to block NTDTV's Spectacular shows. During the last year, the CCP sent out 60 art and cultural performance groups to perform in different places around the world in an attempt to dilute the influence of NTDTV and the Divine Performing Arts. At the same time, the CCP rejected NTDTV's application for performing in Mainland China.
Most members of Divine Performing Arts are from China. They said that they could not wait to go back to Mainland China to perform. If possible, they would immediately go back to perform and offer their compatriots an opportunity to appreciate the essence and inner meaning of authentic traditional Chinese culture.
