Mr. Tan, 35 years old, was employed at the Baojie Company in Guangzhou City. He received awards from his company for being an outstanding employee several times and was always praised by his Western boss and colleagues. He is a good person and had a successful career due to cultivating and practicing "Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance." Because he persisted in practicing Falun Dafa, he was sentenced to a forced labor camp for several years. After his release, he lost his job.
On September 23, 2007, when Mr. Tan repaired his friend Mr. Huang's computer at Mr. Huang's home in Tangxia, Tianhe District, he was arrested by the police. At the same time, another practitioner from Huizhou City in Guangdong Province, whose name is unknown, was also arrested. The police went to Mr. Tan's home to confiscate his family's belongings that evening. Currently, Mr. Tan is imprisoned at the Yuexiu District No. 2 Detention Center. His family members have gone several times to deliver him clothing, but every time the guards haven't allowed them to see him. They were only allowed to leave some of his clothes and money for him. His family members still don't know his situation. (Note: There is no information regarding the other practitioner who was also arrested at the same time.) Mr. Tan's mother is not only old; she also has a mental disorder, therefore he had to give up his specialized job and work as a computer engineer in order to take care of his mother. He also got married not too long ago. At present, no one takes care of his mother.
