(Clearwisdom.net) The persecution has now lasted for eight years. Why is the persecution still going on? When I personally suffered from the persecution, I always tried to enlighten to the reason. When I talked to people about withdrawing from Chinese Communist Party (CCP), I suddenly enlightened to it. I had attachments about enduring the persecution. We cannot recognize and accept the persecution that is imposed by old forces. Because I had these attachments, not being able to let go of loss in the human world, the old forces used this as an excuse to continue to persecute me. Because I had such attachments, I was unable to have true compassion when I tried to clarify the truth.
Because of these attachments, I would get very annoyed with myself when I failed to persuade people. Looking back, I realize that I was unwilling to endure and sacrifice things for Dafa and sentient beings.
We have endured the persecution for eight years. Many practitioners, just like me, have been holding on to their attachments, afraid of being persecuted and not being able to endure that persecution. We only conform to forbearance at the surface; we fail to conform truly within. We also did not put being compassionate in a very high place in our hearts. To put it simply, we didn't achieve "selflessness and altruism" in our efforts to eradicate the persecution and clarify the facts. Instead we just opposed the persecution for the sake of ourselves not being persecuted. This lack of selflessness has resulted in only a reduction of the persecution and not eliminating it from its roots.
My personal understanding is that if we are all able to really be completely selfless from the the bottom of our hearts, we will be able to truly safeguard the dignity of Dafa, and all the evil will be automatically eliminated.
For example, though the persecution has become less severe, it has not completely stopped. After looking inside deeply, I find that the starting point for me to remove my attachments seems to begin with my personal cultivation and doing the right thing to achieve consummation. It is about myself not having to go through this persecution.
Master Li mentioned in his latest article that, "Dafa disciples' cultivation is not merely for individual Consummation" ("To the European Fa Conference") I feel it is selfish of me to only want to overcome my attachments so that I can reach consummation. This is the reason, I think, why there is still the persecution and why I fail to have true compassion and tolerance when saving sentient beings.
My personal understanding is the cultivation of Dafa practitioners does not just aim at achieving our own consummation, nor just for stopping the persecution of ourselves. It is more to stop the persecution of others, of Dafa and of sentient beings, more for others than for ourselves, and more to save more sentient beings and validate Dafa in the best way.
We should remove the attachments towards the persecution and the fear of not being able to endure it. But we have to pay attention to the fundamental reasons within ourselves. Our cultivation now is not for us to reach consummation but rather for us to save more sentient beings and to end the persecution of Dafa.
After I realize my attachments, I am now able to see that they affect my ability to do the three things well. I can see that I look like I am doing things to save sentient beings, but I realize that I am only doing it for myself. My thoughts are not really genuinely about saving people or validating the Fa.
We will continue to look inside and do better to remove all of our attachments. There will be tests all the way until the last moment of our cultivation.
As Dafa practitioners, I understand that it really matters how much we can follow the principles of Truth-Compassion-Tolerance and how many sentient being we can save. If we are unable to discard our attachments we will be unable to endure the persecution. When we are able to selflessly do the three things well, and let go of just achieving consummation and stopping our own persecution, then the persecution against Dafa, Dafa practitioners and sentient beings will for sure be automatically eliminated. The persecution will end before the Fa-rectification arrives in the human world so we can save more sentient beings in a faster and better way.
