(Clearwisdom.net) At 10:53 p.m. on September 28, 2007, the two mid-Autumn Festival performances of the The Divine Performing Arts hosted by the Falun Dafa Association of Canada concluded at the Toronto Centre for the Arts. The two performances in two days were watched by more than 3000 people. Mr. Wang Weiguang, who came to Canada fifteen years ago, talked with the reporter about what he sees as the key to the success of the shows.
After watching the performance on September 28, Mr. Wang praised its quality and scale. He said, "Among all performances I have ever seen, including those hosted by the Chinese Consulate, not one can compare with the performance of the Divine Performing Arts. So many people from different cultural backgrounds came to watch the performance, which means that Falun Gong is widely welcomed."
He especially liked the Story of General Yue Fei. He believes that traditional morality has been lost in modern society. Many people do not pay attention to morality. Immigrants come overseas to pursue business and a better quality of life, which is understandable, but many of them have lost a lot by pursuing short-term interests through engaging in immoral practices.
Chinese Embassies and Consulates have their own rules when providing benefits to Chinese groups and individuals outside China. Mr. Wang pointed out that one rule is regarding a person's attitude toward Falun Gong. Some people follow the Chinese Consulate very closely in order to gain fame and self interest. They may be required to slander Falun Gong or discriminate against the group in order to win favor with the consulates and embassies.
In analyzing the reasons for the success of the performance of the Divine Performing Arts, Mr. Wang thought it was because of the unspoken support and contribution of lots of Falun Gong practitioners. Other groups cannot hold such a successful performance because they don't have so many unselfish people to contribute.
"Only with selfless contribution can such successful performances be possible. Only awakened people can reach such a quality of mind." Mr. Wang said, "The society needs more and more such people who are able to consider others."
This man told the reporter that he was a member of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and had received training to be a future CCP officer.
"Joining the CCP was just to obtain some personal interests, not for communism. Being overseas now for so many years, I understand that the CCP's ideas are nonsense." Mr. Wang said.
Mr. Wang said he had issued a statement to renounce the CCP and its affiliated organizations.
"I think Chinese people overseas should renounce the CCP's ideas and observe the ideas of other groups with beliefs and with objective and kind attitudes." Mr. Wang said, "Every group should have the freedom of speech. Even if I don't agree with you, I respect your right to speak out."
Mr. Wang emphasized that local Chinese people should treat Falun Gong fairly.
