(Clearwisdom.net) There are about one hundred Falun Gong practitioners being held in the No. 7 Division of the Shandong Province No. 2 Forced Labor Camp. Those who refuse to give up their beliefs are being persecuted brutally.
Most of the practitioners held there are between 40 and 70 years old. The labor camp is broken into eight sections. There are five inmate monitors in each section, and one of them is designated the section head. The fifth and sixth sections are strictly controlled units. People in the fifth section are forced to sit on the bench every day, including those who have been tortured to the point of disability and cannot sit up normally. In the sixth section, some are forced to work, while others are forced to sit on the bench. Out of the detained practitioners, the vast majority are firm in their belief, while some are partially or unwillingly cooperating with the camp authorities. The guards are especially paranoid about practitioners communicating with and encouraging each other, and do everything they can to try to keep practitioners from writing solemn declarations once they renounce Falun Gong in some way. The guards have separated the most determined practitioners. Below are some specific cases of persecution.
1. Practitioner Li Baolin, who is in his sixties, was assaulted in the guards' bathroom because he refused to report his presence at night in September of 2007. He was handcuffed to a bed for over a month. Later, he was sent to the fifth section and forced to sit on the bench everyday.
2. In September of 2007, practitioner Fu Weizhong was locked in the guards' bathroom for a month because he refused to write a report on his thoughts.
3. In February of 2007, Wu Kejian was physically abused for several months because he refused to do forced labor. Later, he was sent to the fifth section to sit on the bench everyday.
4. In September of 2007, practitioner Guo Wenxue was handcuffed by Li Gongmin to a bed in the captain's bathroom from around 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. the next morning.
5. Practitioner Sun De went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. After he was physically abused in the captain's office for six months, he was sent to the fifth section to sit on the bench everyday.
6. In August and September of 2007, after the guards returned from a meeting outside, the persecution worsened. They brutally tortured practitioners who refused to do forced labor or who wrote solemn declarations. They threatened the practitioners with imprisonment in jail. For practitioners who refused to do forced labor, they extended their terms indefinitely. They also assaulted practitioners who were found with copies of Master's lectures.
