Police officer and Division Chief Zhang Xianguo of the No. 4 Ward in the Changde City Wuling Prison brutally beat practitioner Ms. Zhou Zixian on August 17, 2006. Ms. Zhou then began a hunger strike that has continued for 15 days. Police force-fed her by inserting a tube through her nose on August 25. Ms. Zhou’s life is in peril.
Ms. Zhou protested against certain police officers confiscating money and letters from practitioners’ families on the morning of May 1, 2006. Policeman Zhang Xianguo did not reprimand the officers. Instead, he forced Ms. Zhou to squat on the ground. She resisted, so he beat her cruelly.

Practitioner Mr. Zhang Jieping from the Shapingba District of Chongqing City was arrested on April 15, 2006 for clarifying the truth to the public. He was taken to the Baihelin Detention Center and was tortured to near death on August 29. The perpetrators then transferred him to the district People’s Hospital. He is in critical condition.

Patrolling police officers arrested practitioner Mr. An Fengbo from Jilin City on Guanghua Road on August 30, 2006. The officers beat him on the spot, causing bruising around his eyes. He was later taken to the Changyi District Yunheli Police Station in Jilin City.

Practitioner Mr. Yuan Yifeng, about 20 years old, from Hongan County, Hubei Province, was arrested on August 3, 2006, when he was clarifying the truth in Shanghai.
Practitioner Mr. Peng Xuechuan, about 50 years old, was arrested approximately two weeks ago for writing, "Falun Dafa is Good" while on a train.

Practitioner Mr. Wang Mingjie and his wife, Ms. Liang Jun, are in their 60s. They live near the Donglin Street Cement Factory in Songjianghe Town, Fusong County, Jilin Province. Police officers broke into their home and confiscated a great deal of truth-clarifying materials on August 30, 2006. They then beat them and took them to the Fusong County Detention Center.

Practitioners Ms. An Jungai and Ms. Li Tongchi from Anguo City, Baoding Municipality, were reported to police on the afternoon of September 2, 2006, while they were clarifying the truth in Nanwangmai Village, Zhengzhang Township. Practitioner Mr. Zhu Zhonghe is a resident of Dabaizhong Village, Qingfengdian Town, Cangxian County, Hebei Province. He was sentenced to seven years of imprisonment for practicing Falun Gong. Mr. Zhu has a leg disability. Six months after he was taken to prison, he began to suffer from diabetes. At present, Mr. Zhu’s situation is serious; he requires medical attention.
11. [Tumen City, Jilin Province] Practitioner Ms. Xu Shulan Went Missing in 2005
Practitioner Ms. Xu Shulan, 64, went missing when she was out grocery shopping on the morning of November 30, 2005. Her family members searched for her everywhere but failed to find her. It is said that officers from the Tumen City National Security Team secretly arrested Ms. Xu and put her in prison.
12. [Suihua City, Heilongjiang Province] Practitioner Ms. Liu Lianbo Arrested at Home
Wang Shubo and three or four other policemen from the Beilin District 610 Office deceived practitioner Ms. Liu Lianbo into opening her door for them at 1:00 p.m. on August 29, 2006. They subsequently arrested her. Ms. Liu’s family members were not at home. Ms. Liu firmly refused to get into the police car. The police dragged her so hard that she immediately lost consciousness. The police then pressed her philtrum acupuncture point (between the nose and upper lip) and forced her into the car. Ms. Liu lost her shoes in the process.
Policeman Li Jianfei beat Ms. Liu so severely that her face became swollen and turned black and blue. She had bruises everywhere. He even gagged her with a dirty mop and taped her mouth shut; she almost suffocated. Ms. Liu was sent to a detention center in the evening and fined 1,000 yuan. Officers extorted another 300 yuan from her for damage to a seat cushion in the car that occurred during the arrest.

13. [Dehui City, Jilin Province] Practitioner Mr. Qu Guangyi Arrested
Three or four plainclothes policemen from the National Security Team in Dehui City searched practitioner Mr. Qu Guangyi on August 23, 2006. He was fixing a gas stove for a customer on the second floor of the No.1 Building on Dongshidao Street at the time. The police found 800 yuan in cash on him. They beat and arrested him. Mr. Qu was tortured with excruciating methods and sustained bruises all over his head and body. He has not been able to eat anything for two days and is currently being held at the Dehui City Detention Center. He is also having difficulty walking.
Officers from the National Security Team had previously arrested Mr. Qu in 2003. He was later sentenced to two years imprisonment in Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City. At present, his wife has to support his 80-year-old mother and their young child by herself.

14. [Fushun City, Liaoning Province] Personnel from the Liaoyang City Court Sentence Practitioner Ms. Yang Chunling to Seven Years of Imprisonment
Officers from the Liaoyang City Court sentenced practitioner Ms. Yang Chunling to seven years of imprisonment. She is currently being held at the Liaoyang City Detention Center.
Prior to this term, Ms. Yang had already been held at the detention center three times for clarifying the truth about Falun Gong. She was sentenced to two years of forced labor in Dalian City on April 3, 2002, and was sent to Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. In the camp, officers from Liaoning Province’s "United Assisting Education Group" beat her until she lost consciousness. Police head Guan Liying illegally extended her term by five months.
On October 13, 2005, Ms. Yang was arrested at home along with her new husband, practitioner Mr. Yang Benliang, and other practitioners. Police from the Dalian City National Security Team fractured her arm at the time of her arrest. Ms. Yang staged a hunger strike in the Liaoyang City Detention Center. She became extremely weak and was later bailed out for hospitalization. She was again arrested at home in Fushun City in the middle of April 2006.

Practitioner Ms. Tang Yunxia worked in Chengdu City. Officers from the Xinhua Road Police Station arrested her on the evening of June 26, 2006. She was transferred to Pengzhou City on July 21 after being tortured for several days and nights. Officers from Pengzhou City’s National Security Team and from the 610 Office sent Ms. Tang to Xinjin Brainwashing Center for further persecution. Tang Yunxia’s 70-year-old father is paralyzed and bedridden; her 16-year-old teenager is left at home without care.
Practitioner Ms. Zeng Qingfang and a dozen practitioners from Mengyang Town, Pengzhou City, went to visit fellow practitioner Ms. Zhang Zhifen at 10:15 a.m. on August 28, 2006. Within ten minutes of their arrival, officers from the Mengyang Town regime, the 610 Office, and the local police station broke into Ms. Zhang’s home. The practitioners were arrested and sent to the Mengyang Town Police Station. Some practitioners were eventually released to their families; others managed to escape, but Ms. Zeng Qingfang was sent to Xinjin Brainwashing Center the next morning.

Ms. Sang Yunlan, 45, is a practitioner from Lanjia Township, Taiyingzitun, Changchun City, Jilin Province. She was reported for clarifying the truth about Falun Gong and was then arrested at home on August 30, 2006. Ms. Sang is currently being illegally held at a detention center.
19. [Tangshan, Hebei Province] Practitioner Ms. Wang Xin Sent to Kaiping Women's Forced Labor Camp
Ms. Wang Xin started to practice Falun Gong in July 1994. She was held at the Tangshan City No.1 Detention Center from August 20 to September 23, 2001. Because Ms. Wang did not give up practicing Falun Gong, her employers, the city’s Industrial and Commercial Bank, fired her in 2002.
Ms. Wang was reported and subsequently arrested by officers from the Youyi Road Police Station on February 12, 2006, for distributing truth-clarifying materials. The Lunan Police Station then sent her to Kaiping Women’s Forced Labor Camp on March 12, 2006.
Ms. Wang's mother is 86 years old and has been paralyzed and bedridden for over three years. She is unable to take care of herself. Ms. Wang's husband has retired but needed coronary bypass surgery due to myocardial infarction. Ms. Wang's daughter has just enrolled in a college, and the tuition is high.
20. [Xuyong County, Sichuan Province] Practitioner Ms. Wang Manqun Facing a Trial at the Luzhou Court
Ms. Wang Manqun, a retired employee of the Forestry Administration Bureau, was reported for clarifying the truth about Falun Gong and distributing copies of "The Nine Commentaries" to the Bureau administrators. Policeman Ma Yuliang from Xuyong County arrested her and ransacked her home on April 4, 2006. She was sent to the Luzhou Detention Center that same day. The Luzhou "Procuratorate" has submitted an indictment to the court. The trial will start around September 10.
21. [Beijing] Practitioner Mr. Yang Xiliang Arrested and Held at the Fengtai District Detention Center
Mr. Yang Xiliang, in his 40s, lives in the Heyidongli Community of the Fengtai District in Beijing. He was sentenced to four years of imprisonment in 2000 for practicing Falun Gong but persisted with the practice. Police officers from the Fengtai District broke into his home on the evening of August 30, 2006, arrested him, and took him to the district detention center.

Mr. Qi Manjun, around 55 years old, is a retired worker of the Minqin Farm of the Yaojie Mining Administration Bureau, Gulang County, Gansu Province. He was reported and then arrested when distributing truth-clarification materials at the Bayi Farm on August 13, 2006. He has since disappeared.
25. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Supplementary Information Regarding the Arrest of Practitioner Ms. Chen Yufang
Officers from the Dongli District Jianzhu Police Station in Harbin City arrested practitioner Ms. Chen Yufang and ransacked her home on June 19, 2006. They ordered her family members to pay 1,000 "yuan," but the family refused. Ms. Chen is now being held at the city’s No.1 Detention Center. Police notified the family that Ms. Chen would be sentenced to one year of forced labor. When the family went to the detention center to request her release on July 3, Guo Zhihua from the National Security Team said that Ms. Chen had been sent to Wanjia Forced Labor Camp. The family inquired at Wanjia Forced Labor Camp by phone but were told that Ms. Chen was not in the labor camp.

Three female plainclothes police officers broke into the home of practitioner Ms. Liu Dongxian in the family dorm affiliated with the Taoyuan County Hospital at around 3:00 p.m. on August 28, 2006. They arrested Ms. Liu. Eighty-year-old practitioner Ms. Xie Huijun, who was walking in the street across from the Xinhua Bookstore, was also arrested. Ms. Xie was illegally held at the Taoyuan County Agriculture Modern Research Institute. The police released her after extorting 3,000 yuan from her adult children. Ms. Liu Dongxian is now in the Taoyuan County Detention Center.

Practitioner Mr. Zhang Lidang from the Xihu District in Wuhan City was taken to the No.1 Detention Center of Wuhan City in early August 2006. He was transferred to Chenjiaji Brainwashing Center in the Jiangan District of Wuhan City 15 days later to be further persecuted.
30. [Penglai, Shandong Province] Practitioners Ms. Zhou Yumin and Ms. Zhou Yuling Face Possible Prison Sentence
Dafa practitioners Ms. Zhou Yumin and Ms. Zhou Yuling from Penglai were arrested in May and July 2006. Where they are currently being detained is unknown. A reliable source recently revealed that Yu Chunming, secretary of the Political and Judiciary Committee in Penglai, pressured his subordinate agencies to sentence detained Falun Dafa practitioners to prison.
31. [Hebei Province] Update on Five Practitioners Held at Pingquan County Detention Center
Wang Xuzi, head of Taitoushan Police Department in Pingquan County, Hebei Province, and officers from the same police department, arrested seven practitioners on August 16, 2006. Five of these eight practitioners are being held at the Pingquan County Detention Center. Practitioners Ms. Han Shuzhen; Ms. Tao Suqin, in her 60s, from Taitoushan; Mr. Yu Huanying, 67, from Xiaojigou Village, Taitoushan; Mr. Yu Huanying’s daughter, Ms. Yu Shumei; and a female practitioner who had gone to Mr. Yu Huanying’s home were arrested by officers from Taitoushan Police Department. Mr. Yu’s home was ransacked by the police, who also took 8,000 yuan in cash, one notebook, printer(s), books, and other items worth about 20,000 yuan. The police also ransacked Ms. Tao Suqin’s home and took a recorder, an MP3 player, Dafa books, and personal belongings worth about 1,000 yuan.
A practitioner whose name is unknown refused to give personal information to the police, and he has been on hunger strike for more than ten days at the detention center. He is extremely weak and his life is in danger. The detention center authorities firmly refused to release him and they are strictly withholding information.

Practitioner Ms. Long Guoji, around 50 years old, is from Yingde City, Guangdong Province. She lived at No. 16 West Heping Road in Yingde City. Ms. Long went to Beijing in 2000 to appeal for justice for Falun Dafa and was detained at Sanshui Forced Labor Camp in Sanshui City, Guangdong Province. After her release, she was frequently harassed by officers from the Yingde City National Security Bureau, which also doubles as the 610 Office, and officers from the Chengbei Police Department in Yingde City. 39. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Practitioner Mr. Liu Tai Persecuted for Belief in Falun Dafa
Practitioner Mr. Liu Tai, 59, lived in Huanggainao, Guyuan County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province. The local CCP (Chinese Communist Party) officials were afraid that Falun Dafa practitioners would go to Beijing in October 2004, so they went to practitioners’ homes to watch them. One day, Tian Haijiang, head of the township police department, along with Yang Zhanlin and Li Hai, went to practitioner Mr. Liu Tai’s home. Mr. Liu was reading Zhuan Falun, so the officers turned his home upside down looking for more Dafa books. They reported Mr. Liu to the county police department, and Meng Xiangui from the Politics and Security Section led a few people to arrest him. The officers pinned Mr. Liu to the ground, beat and kicked him, and handcuffed him behind his back. They took him to the county detention center. Several days later, they sent Mr. Liu to Gaoyang Forced Labor Camp in Hebei Province, releasing him after one year.
