(Clearwisdom.net) Two practitioners from the Peru Falun Dafa Association went to the Singapore Consular Agency in Lima at 11:45 a.m. on August 14, 2006. They delivered a letter from the Peru Falun Dafa Association, requesting that Singapore authorities withdraw the illegal charges against local Falun Gong practitioners, respect human rights and freedom of belief, and not join the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in persecuting Falun Gong.
A staff member at the Singapore Consular Agency listened to practitioners' introduction, accepted practitioners' letter, truth clarification materials and the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party (Spanish version). The staff member said that he would transfer the letter, materials and the book to the consul.
In the letter, the Peru Falun Dafa Association protested the Singapore government's unfair treatment of Falun Gong practitioners. Singapore authorities brought a false charge against nine Falun Gong practitioners who spread the truth about the CCP persecution of Falun Gong in a peaceful manner. The charge against the nine practitioners was "assembly without permit." The letter also tells the Singapore government that Falun Gong practitioners in Peru and Singapore together strongly condemn and demand an immediate stop of the CCP atrocities of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners and selling the harvested organs at high prices. The practitioners hope that the Singapore government be concerned about this incident and see clearly the situation, position itself correctly, and not follow the CCP in persecuting Falun Gong. The Singapore government should immediately withdraw the unreasonable charges against Falun Gong practitioners' righteous acts.
Following the Singapore media's announcement on May 28, 2006, that the former vice premier of the CCP and head of the 610 Office, Li Lanqing would come to Singapore to receive an honorary degree to be conferred by the National University of Singapore in July, a series of incidents ensued in Singapore, including attempting to deport Falun Gong practitioners, and the banning of Falun Gong truth clarification activities. On July 14, 2006, the Singapore government charged the nine practitioners who peacefully clarified the truth in the downtown area in October with "assembly without permit." On July 20, the government illegally detained and charged the three Falun Gong practitioners who were on hunger strike to protest the CCP persecution of Falun Gong in front of the Chinese Embassy in Singapore. The incidents have drawn the world's attention. Falun Gong practitioners around the world have been to the Singapore embassies and consulates in their respective countries to express protest and clarify the truth.
