(Clearwisdom.net) As a result of the Singapore authorities' prosecuting nine local practitioners on the charge of "illegal assembly" on July 14, Australian practitioners held a press conference in front of the Singapore Embassy to Australia on the afternoon of July 19, 2006. They also delivered an open letter to the Singapore Ambassador from the Falun Dafa Association of Australia. The first secretary of the Embassy received the letter and other materials about the CCP's persecution of Falun Gong, and expressed that she would pass on the letter to the Ambassador.

The first Secretary to the embassy receives the letter

In the letter, the Falun Dafa Association of Australia stressed that they were very much concerned about the two trials that Singapore authorities initiated against Falun Gong practitioners in Singapore. They think that the charges do not have any legal bases or rationality. One of the incidents happened last October, but the charges were filed only after the CCP human rights criminal Li Lanqing visited Singapore. In addition, an array of incidents intending to deport Falun Gong practitioners and to ban practitioners' activities happened shortly before this. Apparently, the Singapore authorities are trying to curry favor with Li Lanqing and the CCP. Li Lanqing was the head of the "610 Office, which was established especially for the persecution of Falun Gong.

Clarifying the truth to police officers

In the letter, it was pointed out that on July 6, former Canadian secretary of state for the Asia-Pacific region and Member of Parliament, Mr. David Kilgore and human rights lawyer, Mr. David Matas released an investigation report on the CCP's excising organs from living practitioners. The report concluded that large-scale organ harvesting from practitioners has been going on, and still continues. While the entire world is concerned about this investigation, the Singapore authorities participate in the persecution of Falun Gong. This will severely tarnish the international image of Singapore. They hope that Singapore authorities can make the right choice, and drop the unreasonable charges against practitioners immediately.
