(Clearwisdom.net) On July 20, 2006, Falun Gong practitioners in Singapore held activities to protest against the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong. Two groups of Falun Gong practitioners went to protest in front of the Chinese Embassy in the morning. They collected signatures on street after the protest and held a candle-light vigil in the evening in memory of their fellow Falun Gong practitioners who died from the persecution in the past seven years.

Mr. Wang Xiujiao, a Falun Gong practitioner who participated in the signature collection activity, said there were local residents as well as many tourists on business streets. Falun Gong practitioners in eleven Asian-Pacific countries started a simultaneous hunger strike on July 20, the day the persecution was launched seven years ago. Many practitioners in Singapore participated in the hunger strike and started at 8pm on July 19. Mr. Chen Zhoucheng found it was a great opportunity of truth-clarification to his colleagues. When his colleagues asked him why he didn't join them at the cafe on that day, he started telling them about the hunger strike and then about the CCP's cruel crime of harvesting organs from living Falun Gong practitioners. His colleagues were shocked and learned about Falun Gong and the persecution.
Falun Gong practitioners held wreaths and banners at a memorial service by the riverbank in the evening. With heavy heart, they expressed their grief and respect for their fellow practitioners in China who paid their lives for standing firm on their belief. They also called for the people in Singapore, governments and people of conscience around world to collectively stop the persecution.
