1. [Xinji City, Hebei Province] Twelve Falun Dafa Practitioners Including Mr. Cai Zengcai Arrested and Their Homes Ransacked
At 4:00 a.m. on May 25, 2006, police from the State Security Division of the Police Department of Xinji City, Hebei Province, suddenly entered the Dongchenjiazhuang Village of Nanzhiqiu Town. They illegally ransacked four Falun Dafa practitioners’ homes, including that of practitioner Mr. Cai Zengcai. They forcibly took twelve practitioners to the Police Department of Xinji City. These practitioners were later transferred to the Xinji City Detention Center. They confiscated one television set, three VCD players, three tape recorders and one cash security box. Among the arrested practitioners, there were elderly practitioners in their seventies and children in their teens.
2. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Wang Xuemin on a Hunger Strike to Protest Persecution
On May 14, Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Wang Xuemin from Chuanying District of Jilin City was illegally arrested because someone reported her to the police. She was held in the Jilin City Detention Center and is now on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. At the same time, another practitioner from Jilin City, Ms. Lei Guixiang, originally from the Jiangnan region (the area south of the Yangtze River), was also on a hunger strike to protest the persecution.
3. [Qinhuangdao City] Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Chang Lizhong Severely Tortured; It is not Clear Whether He is Still Alive
Practitioner Mr. Chang Lizhong from Qinhuangdao City was a graduate of a medical school and worked in the Radiation Department of the Qinhuangdao City Hospital of Chinese Traditional Medicine. He started to practice Falun Dafa in 2001. Three times, he was illegally arrested by officials from his workplace and by the Section Chief of the Public Security Office. In March 2006, the officials from his workplace again colluded with the 610 Office and the State Security Division. They arrested Mr. Chang Lizhong in the bike parking lot on the ground floor of his home after deceiving him into coming out of the house. He had just returned home from working the night shift. They held him in the No. 1 Detention Center, where he was inhumanely force-fed and brutally beaten with handcuffs and foot shackles on. Within only six days, he was tortured so severely that his entire body, hands, feet, and head were all swollen and he could no longer speak, eat, drink or walk. He was in a coma. Only after his wife and some of his workplace officials went to negotiate with the police many times, was Mr. Chang finally released on bail.
On May 11, only four days after Mr. Chang went back to work, his workplace officials again colluded with the police from the State Security Division to arrest Mr. Chang. They also took him directly to the Baoding City Forced Labor Camp, and sentenced him to one and a half years of forced labor. His wife and his six-year-old son went to the State Security Division many times to look for Mr. Chang, but the police were avoiding responsibility and refused to let them see Mr. Chang. At present it is not clear whether Mr. Chang is still alive.
4. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Zhang Haimin Severely Tortured in the Shenxin Forced Labor Camp
Mr. Zhang Haimin is a practitioner from Xingchen City in Liaoning Province. He started to practice Falun Dafa in 1996 and was the local assistant of the Falun Dafa practice site. On January 10, 2005, he and three practitioners went out to clarify the truth about Falun Dafa. When they were hanging the banner of "Falun Dafa is Good," they were reported to police, and were subsequently taken to the Pingluo Police Station of Yuhong District. They were handcuffed behind the back. The Director of the Police Station, Chen (surname, male), led three police officers to brutally beat the practitioners. An hour later, Director Chen came to beat them again after he drank some wine.
At about 11:00 p.m. on January 12, police took Mr. Zhang Haimin and another practitioner to the Yuhong District Detention Center. Those at the detention center noticed that both practitioners were covered with wounds and so refused to take them. At about 6:00 p.m. on January 13, these two practitioners were sent to the prison hospital. Police still asked their family members to pay for the treatment. On the night of January 14, these two practitioners were transferred to the Masan Prison Hospital. The specialists at the hospital diagnosed them with Type B Hepatitis. Although all the paperwork was ready, the sanitation department still refused to let the practitioners be bailed out for medical treatment. They also did not make any other additional recommendations. These practitioners did not receive any effective treatment, nor were they isolated from others (to prevent cross infection).
Mr. Zhang has been in Shenxin Detention Center for over a year. His face is dark; he walks very slowly and eats very little.
5. [Guangdong Province] Guangzhou City Women’s Prison Forced Drugs on Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Xie Kunxiang and Repeatedly Drew Her Blood Against Her Will
Ms. Xie Kunxiang, 54, is a practitioner from Guangzhou City. In June 2005, because of practicing Falun Dafa, she was again illegally held in the Guangzhou City Women’s Prison. Recently, the prison guard forged a hospital certificate to accuse Ms. Xie Kunxiang of having a psychiatric disease. They abusively gave her drugs and also repeatedly drew blood from her against her will. They injected her with drugs as a means of torture. When her family members inquired about her health, the prison guard did not dare to provide a clear answer.
6. [Liaoning Province] Statements to Persecute Falun Dafa Practitioners Shown in the College Admission Requirements Given by the Education System in Liaoning Province
On Page 9 and Page 10 of the Liaoning Province High School Graduates Listing, there is the following requirement: "Students whose father, mother, or guardian had any major problems and were thereby sentenced, need to indicate the time, location, and reason for the sentence, and must submit investigation materials on the person’s behavior after release, with stamps from those in charge at the sentenced person’s workplace."
In the Liaoning Province 2005 College or University Admission Policy, there is the following requirement: "An applicant's school or workplace must provide a comprehensive evaluation of the applicant's political attitude, thoughts and quality…The result of such evaluation can be put into two categories: one is qualified, the other is disqualified. Anyone who has one of the following situations belongs to the category of disqualification: 1) Those who were against the Four Fundamental Principals or Against the Reformed Speech and Behavior Rules, or who have participated in the cult organizations…"
7. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Zu Liming Arrested
At about 10:00 p.m. on May 23, 2006, practitioner Mr. Zu Liming from Huanggu District of Shenyang City was arrested at home by police from Shenyang City Police Department. They also confiscated his computer. He is currently being held illegally in the Huanggu District Police Department of Shenyang City.
8. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Bai Lanzhen Arrested by Police from the 610 Office
Ms. Bai Lanzhen is a practitioner who worked in the Shijiazhuang City No. 9 Middle School. At around 10:00 a.m. on May 24, 2006, the officials of the No. 9 Middle School called Ms. Bai and deceived her into going there under the guise of handing in her identification card. Subsequently, police illegally arrested her and took her to the Hebei Province Brainwashing Center.
9. [Beijing City] Falun Dafa Practitioners Mr. Huang Ronghua, Mr. Li Zengqi and Ms. He Xiulan Arrested
At about 11:00 a.m. on May 25, 2006, the State Security Division of the Shunyi District of Beijing City colluded with the Linmu Town Police Station as well as the CCP Committee of Dongyantou Village to illegally ransack the home of practitioner Mr. Li Zengqi. They confiscated a computer, a printer and truth-clarification materials, and also illegally arrested Mr. Li Zengqi and practitioner Ms. He Xiulan. They then went to illegally ransack the home of practitioner Mr. Huang Ronghua. They confiscated a computer, a printer and truth-clarification materials, and also illegally arrested Mr. Huang Ronghua.

10. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Falun Dafa Practitioners Ms. Jiang Xianyi and Her Son Mr. Kuo Hai Arrested
On May 23, 2006, practitioners Ms. Jiang Xianyi and her son Mr. Kuo Hai from Baishizhou region of Nanshan District of Shenzhen City were clarifying the truth about Falun Dafa outside their home and were reported to police. Both practitioners are now being held in the No. 1 Detention Center of Tongle Village, Nanshan District. Mr. Kuo Hai is being held in the No. 16 Division, while Ms. Jiang Xianyi is being held in the No. 8 Division. All of their relatives live in Hunan Province.
11. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Practitioner Mr. Wang Jianmin Will Soon Be Released from Prison
Practitioner Mr. Wang Jianmin from Changchun City was illegally sentenced to four years of imprisonment and has been held in the Shiling Prison of Siping City. He is up for release on May 30. His family members went to visit Mr. Wang at the Shiling Prison of Siping City, but the prison guards said that the 610 Office would come to take him when he is up for release.
12. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Three Falun Dafa Practitioners, Including Mr. Bo Fucheng, Arrested and a Truth-Clarification Materials Site Damaged
At about 8:00 p.m. on May 21, 2006, practitioner Mr. Bo Fucheng from Bojia Village, Xiadian Town of Zhaoyuan City in Shandong Province, was illegally arrested. At about 10:00 a.m. on May 21, 2006, Hou Renxian (male) and Xu Jiansheng (male) from the State Security Division of Zhaoyuan City, led more than twenty people and drove five police cars to illegally ransack Mr. Bo Fucheng’s home. They confiscated two computers, three copy machines, two paper cutters and about thirty boxes of print papers, thirty glue tapes, two boxes of copies of the Nine Commentaries, ten copies of Zhuan Falun, and part of the Falun Dafa lectures, as well as six thousand yuan in savings, with a total loss of about thirty thousand yuan. The truth-clarification materials site was also damaged.
At about 2:00 p.m. on May 22, practitioner Mr. Bo Fuyu from the same village was also arrested. In the evening, practitioner Mr. Cao Ximin, in his sixties, from the village, was also arrested.

13. [Jiuquan City, Gangsu Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Ji Yijun Arrested
Around noon on May 24, practitioner Ms. Ji Yijun was reported to police when she was distributing truth-clarification materials. She was illegally arrested and her home ransacked. She is currently being held in the Jiuquan Detention Center.
14. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Chen Jinchang Arrested
Practitioner Mr. Chen Jinchang from Meizhou City was arrested by police from the Fuda Police Station on the morning of May 26. Police first went to his home, but did not find him there. They then went to his workplace to arrest him.
15. [Xinji City, Hebei Province] Eight Falun Dafa Practitioners Arrested
At about 3:00 a.m. on May 25, 2006, police headed by Geng Chao (male) drove police cars to illegally ransack the homes of Falun Dafa practitioners in Dongchenjiazhuang Village of Nanzhiqiu Town. They confiscated one television set. Eight Falun Dafa practitioners are currently being held at the Xinji City Detention Center.
16. [Heilongjiang Province] Police from the Daqing City Prison Broke a Rib of Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Li Hai during Beatings
At about 1:30 a.m. on March 1, 2006, Wang Yingjie (male), who is the Deputy Warden of the Daqing City Prison, led the Prison Political Division Chief Yuan Hongjun (male), Li Tie (male), and prison guards Fan Lijun (male), Chen Xuesong (male), Wang Jiewen (male) and others, to the Third Group of the Second Division, and started to torture Falun Dafa practitioners held there. The practitioners were Mr. Xia Yong, Mr. Li Hai and Ms. Li Huifeng. They pulled the practitioners from the bed to the ground and started to punch and kick them. Later they used belts to slash them. They forcibly dressed Ms. Li Huifeng in prison clothes and subjected her to "Locking up in a small cell" (1) and locked her onto the iron chair and beat her with batons and fists. Later, they put Ms. Li Huifeng through the "Big Hang Up" (2) for more then seven hours. After she was released from the hanging, she was again put through "Locking up in a small cell." Prisoners were forced to watch her all day and all night. One of Mr. Li Hai’s ribs was broken due to the beatings and he could not lie on his side for one month.
17. [Guilin City, Guangxi Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Cao Xiaorong and Her Entire Family are Closely Monitored
Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Cao Xiaorong and her entire family have been monitored for two years. The telephone lines are monitored and blocked. Police also drilled holes on the roof of Ms. Cao Xiaorong’s home and pumped in concentrated smoke that could disrupt one’s nervous system. Her eight-month old grandson could not escape from the poisonous smoke and died. Recently, they arranged spies in her neighborhood. At the same time, there are many spies hiding in the markets, stores, rice powder shops and salons, trying to illegally arrest her and her family members (who practice Falun Dafa).

18. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Liu Yaqin Illegally Held
On May 10, 2006, practitioner Ms. Liu Yaqin from Harbin City was illegally arrested when she was clarifying the truth about Falun Dafa in Beijing City. She was taken back to Harbin City by the Quxian Police Station of Nangang District of Harbin City and subsequently held in the Harbin City Gu Township Women’s Detention Center, also known as Duck Circle.
19. [Kaifeng City, Henan Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Song Zengce Arrested While Clarifying the Truth
On May 15, 2006, Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Song Zengce was arrested when he was clarifying the truth about Falun Dafa. He is currently being held in the Beijiao Detention Center.
20. [Langfang City, Hebei Province] Practitioner Mr. Wang Xinying Arrested
On May 22, 2006, Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Wang Xinying was arrested and taken to a brainwashing center.

At about 7:00 or 8:00 a.m., on May 23, 2006, practitioner Ms. Wang Zhijun was arrested by more then ten police officers at her home. At that time, she was still in her pajamas. When they were arresting her, she called out "Falun Dafa is good." Ms. Wang Zhijun is currently being held and tortured in the new brainwashing center located in the Dajinding Region of Tangjia District of Zhuhai City.

1). Locking up in a Small Cell
The detainee is locked up in a very small cell individually. The guards handcuff practitioners on their back in a fixed position, in which the practitioners can neither move nor lie down. The small cell is very damp and no sunshine comes in. Detainees have to urinate and defecate in the cell. Only half of a regular meal is served to detainees locked up in a small cell during the daytime. During the night the rats are running around. The stench in the small cell is so bad that it is difficult to breathe.
2)."Big Hang Up"
There are two forms in this torture: (1) With both hands cuffed behind the back and only toes touching the ground, one is hung by a rope that is tied to the metal window frames; (2) One hand of a practitioner is cuffed to one bunk bed and the other hand to another bed, and the two beds are pulled in the opposite directions.
