(Minghui.org) Ms. Yang Yucui, 51 years old, is retired from the training office at the Bohai Sea Petroleum Company. Because she refused to give up her belief in Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance, agents from the Chinese Communist Party arrested her, ransacked her home several times, and put her into a detention center. During the 2002 Lunar New Year's Eve, she was seized again. The arresting officials were from the Bohai Sea Petroleum Public Security. They took her from her hometown in the Northeast area of China to the Tangku District Detention Center. She was sentenced to five years in prison and remains at the Tianjin Women's Prison.
Ms. Liu Xiumei, 59 years old, is a relative of one of the employees at Bohai Sea Petroleum. After beginning Falun Gong cultivation in 1997 she became very healthy. In the evening of January 19, 2001, agents from the Tangku Public Security suddenly rushed into her home and arrested her and her practitioner husband, whom they detained on criminal charges. After being detained for 12 hours at the police station, she signed the guarantee statement under high pressure. Back home, she felt guilty in her heart and anxious about her husband. She became melancholy. Gradually, illness began to encumber her. She died in August 2003. As death approached, she told her family that she was wrong, and she expressed her regret to Dafa and Master.
Ms. Zhao Huilan, over 60 years old and a retired teacher, was originally the education section director of the first middle school at the Bohai Sea Petroleum Corporation. In the second half of September 1999 she went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Dafa and was interrogated after her return. In August 2000 she held up a banner in Tiananmen Square. Local police arrested her and transferred her to Beijing's Fangshan District for three days. Then they took her back. She was held for a month in the Tanggu Detention Center, followed by a year and a half of forced labor. Communist regime agents from the police station eventually extorted 35,000 yuan from her family for her release. In the middle of April 2001 she was arrested again in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. The next day her captors transferred her to a temporarily location in Taizhou for one month. Agents from Tianjin's Tangku Police Department then sent her to Zhaojiadi for imprisonment for four months. In addition, she was also sentenced to two and a half years of forced labor. Her family eventually was coerced into paying 50,000 yuan for her release. One evening in October 2004, the police intruded into her home with the excuse of checking registered permanent addresses. They also called Ms. Zhao to come to the Donggu Police Station and the Binghai Police Station for an inquiry.
Ms. Zhang Fenxiao, 57 years old, is a retired teacher from the second elementary school affiliated with Bohai Petroleum. She devoted many years to teaching children how to write and achieved remarkable results. Ms. Zhang began practicing Falun Gong in 1996 because of illness and benefited greatly. This enabled her to devote more time than ever to her work. In 1997 she was recognized as the district's outstanding head teacher. In 1998, students' parents nominated her as head teacher for experimental language and literature classes. In October 1999 she went to Beijing to petition on behalf of Falun Gong according to the law and to clarify the truth. The police detained her. After her family paid 30,000 yuan in extortion money, she was released but had to live under surveillance for half a year.
She wrote a letter to the Communist regime's Party committee in her district and to the municipal Party committee at the National People's Congress to report the truth in March 2000. The 41st paragraph of China's constitution accords every citizen that right. In spite of that right, the police interrogated her. In May and June of 2000, she wrote letters to the Bohai Sea Company's inquiry section to report the real situation according to the "State Council Inquiry Work Rules." Following that, personnel in the education department lowered her retirement benefits and other welfare benefits and paid her a mere 200 yuan living expenses per month. New Year's Day 2001 saw her detained again for handing truth clarification material to a taxi driver. This resulted in a two-and-a-half-year forced labor sentence. When Ms. Zhang returned home in 2003, the Binhai's Xincun Residents Committee frequently harassed her by telephone and monitored her. They even made personal appearances at her home and impeded her personal freedom.
Ms. Ding Youlin was a staff member of the Bohai Sea Petroleum Water and Electricity Company. She is 44 years old. In October 1999 she went to Beijing to appeal. The police fined her 700 yuan. In January 2001, when the Lunar New Year was approaching, the police ransacked her home, arrested her, and detained her for 15 days. In February 2001 another arrest took place. Police officers and persons from the Water and Electricity Company then took her to a brainwashing center, attempting to make her give up her belief in Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance. In February 2002 her home was ransacked again. She was detained for one month and then sentenced to forced labor for one year. Even though a physical examination determined that she was pregnant, she was still not released. Having no choice, her family managed to bribe officials to bail her out and thereby permit her to serve her sentence outside. Since April 2000, the company has continued to violate the country's labor laws according to which she was entitled to fair compensation. The officials issued her only living expenses. They terminated her wages and all welfare benefits.
Ms. Zhang Huizhen, another employee of the Bohai Sea Petroleum Transport Company staff, is 42 years old. In January 2001, exercising a citizen's lawful right based on the national constitution, she went to Beijing to petition the Communist regime to stop persecuting Falun Gong. Beijing police arrested her. After her return home, she was incarcerated at the Tanggu Detention Center. Bohai Sea Petroleum Police Station agents charged her with "endangering public security" and deprived her of her freedom for one month. She resumed work after her release. Her employers didn't comply with the labor law rules for compensation. An employee gets paid according to the amount of work assigned and completed. The company committed a deliberate, gross miscarriage of justice by declaring that those who cultivate Falun Gong do not have the rights to benefits, wages, or bonuses, but are only eligible to make the minimum amount for living. Since then she has received no more than a hundred yuan. So far, the company has withheld her rightful wages and benefits totaling over 100,000 yuan.
Ms. Zheng Yujuan, 45, was employed by the Bohai Sea Company until she retired in 2001. In October 1999 she went to Beijing to clarify the truth to the government. Her employer's security office agents fined her 700 yuan. Public Security Office head Yang Xiancai detained her for 30 days in June 2000 because she did the Falun Gong exercises outdoors. On February 2001, agents from the Public Security Office transferred her to a brainwashing center held in Tianjin's Tanggu District. On July 4, 2001, others from this security office sent her to the Anding Hospital for torture for about 70 days for writing a declaration to continue to firmly cultivate Dafa. In February 2002, agents at the Tangku area police station suspected her of distributing truth-clarifying materials and detained her again for about 30 days. In May 2004, the Bohai Sea petroleum public security office police ransacked her home and detained her for 15 days. Since April 2000, her employers have only paid her basic living expenses. At each arrest the captors extorted money from her.
Ms. Li Shufang, 51 years old, was a Bohai Sea Petroleum Company staff family member. In January 2001, she went to Beijing to report the truth about the Falun Gong to the government. She was "illegally imprisoned" by the Beijing public security for one day and one night. Bohai Petroleum agents and officers from the local police station sent her to the Tanggu Detention Center and held her for one month. She was fined 7,000 yuan and not issued a receipt. By the end of April 2004, personnel from the local police station had ransacked her home and detained her for 15 days. In May 2005, police harassed her twice during the night with the excuse of checking registered permanent addresses.
