(Clearwisdom.net) Ms. Zhao Yinglan was from Jiansanjiang Farm, Heilongjiang Province. Five people in her family were illegally detained for their belief in Falun Gong and following the principles of "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance." On March 20, 2006, Ms. Zhao's daughter-in-law, Ms. Cao Xiufang, was arrested again. Because of all the sorrow, worry, and pain she went through, Ms. Zhao died on June 16, 2006.
Ms. Zhao Yinglan was 69 years old and lived in the [living quarters of the] Qixing Brick Factory of Jiansanjiang, Heilongjiang Province. She was very ill before 1996 and frequently went to see a doctor. However, after practicing Falun Dafa in 1996, her physical health improved and she no longer needed any medication. Her entire family also practiced Falun Dafa.
After the Chinese Communist Party began to persecute Falun Dafa in 1999, police and staff from the 610 Office often harassed her. Five people in her family were arrested and detained, including her two sons, one daughter, and two daughters-in-law. Four of them (except her younger son, Tian Baoxing) were sent to the forced labor camp. Her elder son, Tian Baoyu, was sentenced for six years.
Practitioner Tian Baoyu was sent to the labor camp after the persecution started on July 20, 1999. He was tortured in Jiamusi City. In September and October 2001, when his detention term expired, local police and 610 Office agents took him back and sent him directly to Jiansanjiang Detention Center. After vehement demands from family members and the local community, the police released Tian Baoyu. In 2002, however, they once again put him in the detention center along with two other practitioners, using the excuse of "meeting." In January 2001, the police transferred him to Suihua Forced Labor Camp.
Given these long and agonizing experiences, Ms. Zhao Yinglan could no longer bear it. Out of sheer terror, she was became bedridden again and needed to be looked after. In early 2006, she stayed in the home of Tian Baoyu, whose wife, Ms. Cao Xiufang, took care of her.
On March 20, 2006, six police officers confiscated their household belongings. They arrested Ms. Cao Xiufang and sent her to Jiansanjiang Brainwashing Center. On the following day, four police officers went to the home of Ms. Zhao Yinglan's daughter and harassed her.
After being terrorized again and again, Ms. Zhao Yinglan died on June 16, 2006.
The Jiansanjiang Agricultural Administration Bureau has constantly persecuted Falun Dafa practitioners since July 22, 1999. Numerous practitioners were detained for long periods of time or forced to do intensive labor on a farm. Many other practitioners were also arrested and sent to Jiamusi Labor Camp or Suihua Labor Camp for further persecution. Ms. Cao Xiufang was sent to Jiamusi Forced Labor Camp.
In October 2006, the police went to more practitioners' homes and confiscated their belongings. Several practitioners were arrested, including Jin Jinzhe, Tian Xianhua, and another practitioner. After being detained in Jiansanjiang Brainwashing Center, they were secretly transferred on October 15. It was said that Tian Xianhua was detained in Qianjin Town Detention Center in Jiansanjiang.
