(Clearwisdom.net) Every week during our weekly group Fa study session, there is always something that propels me to improve. Be it a spontaneous gesture, or a sharing of a fellow practitioner, these things often prompt me to look within. In this environment of studying and cultivating together, I don't want to miss this opportunity to meet and share our understandings for a few hours a week. Whenever I find that I have not done as well as other practitioners, besides feeling ashamed, I urge myself to catch up. This is the form of cultivation that the Teacher left for us. It is the fastest way to improve, and it creates a good environment to forge Dafa practitioners.
A practitioner once shared that in order to promote some truth-clarification TV programs, female practitioners were encouraged to dress up in ancient Chinese costumes as "Celestial Maidens" to capture people's attention. Since there were only a few female practitioners available, she also had to dress up. "Celestial Maidens" aren't supposed to wear eyeglasses, but she has very poor eyesight. So she had to do it without being able to see well.
After hearing her story, everyone was touched. I asked myself: If I knew that they needed people to dress up as "Celestial Maidens," would I be brave enough to sign up? The first question that came to my mind was, "Would I look good in the costume?" What I cared about was primarily my personal interest, without considering the Fa first. Actually, whenever I am needed in a Dafa activity, I should take the initiative to supplement it. The power of the one body is the greatest when the particles are pure.
The same is true with holding anti-torture exhibits. I heard that some practitioners didn't want to act as the policemen or as torture victims in difficult poses. They were still focused on themselves. Actually, if our righteous thoughts are strong, our benevolent Teacher and other gods will all give us strength. In "Further Understanding" (in Essentials for Further Advancement), Teacher said: "
If we can truly let go of selfishness and melt into the Fa, then our manifestation in other dimensions is surely one of great enlightened beings that are shining with golden light, standing uprightly all the way between heaven and earth.
Every practitioner is a particle of Dafa. If everyone in the body took the initiative to do what needed to be done at any given time, our power would be very strong. So let's not wait for or rely on others. We should actively participate and use our skills and abilities. Whenever something is needed, we should actively supplement it, use the power of the one body, validate the Fa, and save sentient beings. I hope all fellow practitioners can find their shortcomings and catch up in this environment of studying and cultivating together. We should not let down Teacher's compassionate salvation and hope. Step forward! Not much time is left. The sentient beings are waiting for us!
I would like to share a passage from Teacher's short address, To All Students at the Nordic Fa Conference to conclude this article:
"Every student should, in addition to participating in group activities, in his daily life fully take the initiative of a Dafa disciple, establish his own mighty virtue in the process of clarifying the truth, and do well on his own Dafa disciple's path. So in clarifying the truth, don't wait, don't rely on others, and don't just hope for changes in external factors. Every one of us is creating history for the future, that's why everyone is not only participating in group activities, but also taking the initiative to look for things to do. As long as something is good for Dafa, you should take the initiative to do it, take the initiative to work on it. Every person you come into contact with in society is someone to clarify the truth to, and what's manifest in clarifying the truth is Dafa disciples' mercy and their salvation of the world's people. I hope that every Dafa disciple will fully take initiative and fully play his role as a Dafa disciple."
