(Clearwisdom.net) During the past six years, Jiang Zemin and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) have brutally suppressed Falun Gong. Even a remote area like Anren County in Chenzhou City, Hunan Province has been involved in this persecution. The Anren County 610 Office and the Public Security Division (now called the National Security Bureau) have colluded with each other. Usually, the City Community Law Commission and the 610 Office set up "Prevention Measures." Whenever Falun Dafa truth clarifying materials were found in any town or township, these two authorities arrested practitioners on their list. They arbitrarily confiscated practitioners' property, harassed them, extorted money, fined, imprisoned, beat, extorted confessions and sentenced these practitioners. The following are details about the persecution of Falun Gong in Anren County.

The Use of Spies to Persecute Practitioners Leads to Multiple Arrests, Abuse in Detention

At the end of 2002, a practitioner put up a "Falun Dafa is Good" banner in Anren County. Anren County officials used a man surnamed Guo (first name unknown), who used to practice Falun Gong, to become friendly with the practitioners in Yongxing County, Chenzhou City, and spy on them. On April 19, 2003, they then arrested 15 practitioners and 3 non-practitioners. Led by the director of the Public Security Bureau, Deng Guangtan, and the head of the Community Security Division, Chen Yunqing, they brutally beat the practitioners. They slapped them very hard until they lost consciousness. Then they woke them up with cold water to continue the beating. They physically punished the practitioners by depriving them of sleep for three days straight and handcuffed their hands behind their backs to iron bars. They also instigated other prisoners to torture practitioners and extort "confessions" from them. Practitioner Mr. Xu Yunyan's leg was almost broken from being beaten and he couldn't walk for at least 3 months.

If the police really couldn't find any evidence against practitioners and couldn't continue to hold them, the police would nevertheless extort 4,000 to 20,000 yuan from them before releasing them. A female practitioner's parents were doing business out of town. In order to rescue their daughter, they gave 50,000 yuan to the 610 Office, which the police called a "sponsor fee." This didn't even include the "fines." Five practitioners were transferred to the County Court and were sentenced from 3 to 9 years in prison. These practitioners were, Mr. He Renchun (9 years), Mr. Chen Yiyuan (8 years), Mr. Xu Yunyan (7 years), Ms. Cao Linfang (7 years), and Ms. Cao Linying (3 years). Male practitioners were sent to the Wangling Prison in You County, Zhuzhou City. Female practitioners were sent to the Changsha Women's Prison. The practitioners have been suffering inhuman tortures in prison.

Relentless Persecution against Three Sisters and Their Families

There are three sisters in Anren County who are all practitioners. The oldest sister is Ms. Li Liumei (58 years old). She lives in Chenzhou City. The second one is Ms. Li Hualin (56 years old), who lives in Lianshi Village in Zhushan Township and the youngest is Ms. Li Guilin (54 years old) who lives in Zhushan Township in Anren County.

On February 26, 2001, the police from the Community Security Division deceived Ms. Li Huanlin into going to a detention center. On March 26, she was allowed to leave on bail. Her family had to spend 5,000 yuan for her bail and paid 1,000 yuan for her food and 500 yuan as a "gift" to the officers.

On April 9, 2002, the youngest sister, Ms. Li Guilin went to the Community Security Division to deliver "truth clarifying" materials and was arrested. The police suspected that her older sister, Ms. Li Liumei had given the materials to her, so they arrested her, confiscated her property and put her in prison. On July 9, Ms. Li Liumei's family spent 5,000 yuan to bail her out and paid 1,000 for the food. Ms. Li Guilin had to spend 4,000 yuan for the bail fee and 1,000 yuan for the food before she could go home.

By the end of August, Ms. Li Liumei was sentenced to the Baimalong Forced Labor Camp in Zhuzhou for a year and a half. Ms. Li Guilin was sentenced to two years. When Chen Yunqing came to arrest her, she wasn't home. After she learned about the sentence, she never went back home and decided to work and live elsewhere. After the police tried a few times to find Ms. Li Guilin at home, they arrested her husband, Wang Leren, brought him to the detention center and locked him up as a hostage. Mr. Wang was not a practitioner and lived in the detention center, terrorized day after day. When the police finally caught Ms. Li Guilin, Wang Leren had been imprisoned as a hostage for 38 days.

After Ms. Li Hualin went home, her family asked her to work out of town, fearing that she would also get arrested. To clarify the truth, she wrote a letter to the county government and to Chen Yuqing from the Community Security Division, who was in charge of persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. Based on where the letter was sent from, the officers went to a construction site in Zhuhai City, but found no one. They then went back to Anren County and confiscated all of the valuables from Li Hualin's and her daughter's homes. On September 27, the police went to Ms. Li Hualin's daughter's home in Dongguan and threatened her. They told her that if she didn't turn in her own mother, they would take her to prison as a hostage. Ms. Li Hualin had no choice but to go to the detention center the second time. Her family spent a large amount of money again to bail her out. The total amount of money her family spent has added up to over 10,000 yuan.

Ms. Li Guilin suffered from even more brutal persecution in the Baimalong Forced Labor Camp in Zhuzhou City. When she was released after two years, she was just skin and bones and couldn't see anything. Her back and leg muscles were swollen and numb and she couldn't walk properly. The Anren 610 Office frequently harassed her. In June 2004, after they continuously got the answer from her, "I want to steadfastly practice Falun Gong," the police confiscated Ms. Li's property once again. When they found a Falun Gong book, they used it as a pretext to arrest her again. She went on a hunger strike in protest. They finally released her when she started to vomit blood.

Ms. Li Liumei was again suspected to have given her sister the Falun Gong book. The police searched and ransacked her home but didn't find anything. Ms. Li Liumei was hence spared being arrested again. One day, when she saw the police coming to arrest her again, she went to her balcony and jumped off in an attempt to escape. She wasn't seriously injured, but from then on, her husband, worried about the family's safety, suppressed her from practicing Falun Gong.

In July, Ms. Li Guilin's daughter had a baby and her son-in-law brought Ms. Li to Chenzhou to take care of her daughter. The police from the 610 Office and the Community Security Division went to Ms. Li's home and didn't find her. The police lied to her husband, Wang Leren, saying that they were worried about her health. Wang hence took the police to their daughter's home. The police, upon seeing Ms. Li, grabbed her, forced her into the police car, brought her to the Baimalong Forced Labor Camp and sentenced her to a year of forced labor.

The police again arrested Ms. Li Hualin. She escaped with righteous thoughts and began a life of being homeless. Because she feared being arrested, she couldn't even go home during the holidays.

The Persecution of Mr. Peng Zongwen

Dafa practitioner, Mr. Peng Zongwen, who is over 50 years old, is a former employee of a manganese mine in Manaoshan. He went home (Hexi Village in Chengping, Anren County) after retirement. Mr. Peng was not spared from this inhumane persecution against Falun Gong. The 610 Office and the police often watched and harassed him.

In May 2004, the police from Anren County went to practitioner Mr. Li Jianxun's home in Hexi Village, confiscated his property and took him to the Community Security Division. The police threatened and coerced him to tell them where he got some new Falun Gong books. The next day the police entered Mr. Peng Zongwen's home, but found nothing. They still arrested Mr. Peng. The police went to Mr. Peng's home after 2 days and searched his neighbors' houses but still couldn't find any "evidence" against him. They held Mr. Peng in the detention center and released him only after he went on a hunger strike for 20 days, putting his life in danger.

On May 24, 2005, the police again broke into Mr. Peng's house to search and confiscate his property. They found nothing and wanted to rob Mr. Peng of the money he had saved for his daughter's wedding. Mr. Peng's wife yelled, "No wonder you people frequently come to our house and overturn everything. You always want to rob us! If any of you dare to make a move today ..."

The police took Mr. Peng away. It has been three months and Mr. Peng is still detained. His daughter called the Anren 610 Office and asked, "You don't have any evidence to legally hold him. Why do you imprison my father for so long?" They replied, "We were not done with him from the last time (Mr. Peng's arrest in May 2004)." His daughter asked, "Last time you didn't have any evidence either. I am home every day and have never seen my father do anything wrong. What evidence do you have to keep him there?" The police responded, "Do you think your father is a simple man? We couldn't get a word out of him. If he were an ordinary farmer, he would have been so scared that he would have told everything."

The Persecution of Mr. Wang Yeqing

Mr. Wang Yeqing is about 32 years old and is a practitioner in Chengping Township, Anren County. In January 2001, Mr. Wang had just gotten married. When he went Beijing, the 610 Office and police from the community security division went to his home, took away all his furniture and sentenced him to two years in a forced labor camp. After Mr. Wang came home from the labor camp, the 610 Office still continued to harass him.

In September 2003, a Dongguan patrol officer arrested Mr. Wang because he put up several posters saying, "Falun Dafa is Good." Mr. Wang went on a hunger strike in protest for over 20 days and was sent back to Anren County because his life was in danger. The police robbed Mr. Wang's parents of over 1,322 pounds of grain and threatened to sell their pigs to pay off their travel expenses.

In June 2004, Mr. Wang went to work at a construction site in Chenzhou. In less than 10 days, the police lied to Mr. Wang's mother to get her to tell them where he worked. The police went to Chenzhou, arrested him and sent him directly to Xinkaipu in Changsha City. Mr. Wang had to serve one and half years in a forced labor camp. After his mother learned that her son had been arrested, she cried every day. Mr. Wang's wife had to work in order to bring food home. Their son was going to elementary school and no one could afford his tuition.

The Persecution of Older Practitioners Mr. Duan Bangxiao, Ms. Chen Nianmei and Ms. Wang Zhifang

Mr. Duan Bangxiao started practicing Falun Dafa late compared to other practitioners. He was about 58 years old and from Anping in Anren County. As a result of practicing Falun Dafa, his body and mind improved significantly. In 2001, notices reading, "Falun Dafa is Good" appeared on the utility poles near the Anping area. The Anren police listed Mr. Duan as a suspect, arrested him and sentenced him to a year and half in a forced labor camp. The police threatened not to let him go home if he didn't sign a "guarantee" to stop practicing. Mr. Duan hence wrote the Three Statements against his will.

After Mr. Duan came back from the labor camp, the Anren police suspected that he posted flyers about how to avoid natural and man-made calamities when SARS was widespread in 2003. The police arrested him again and sentenced him to a forced labor camp for a year and a half.

Ms. Chen Nianmei was about 70 years old and a Falun Dafa practitioner from Qingxi in Anren County. The Anren police suspected her of distributing Falun Gong truth clarifying materials so they confiscated her property and arrested her. She went home after one day in detention. On December 25, 2004, the police suddenly arrested Ms. Chen at her home and sentenced her to a year and a half in a forced labor camp. At the time of this report, Ms. Chen is still being persecuted in the Baimalong Forced Labor Camp.

Ms. Wang Zhifang is about 60 years old and from Zhushan in Anren County. In April 2005, the police broke into her house. They searched it and arrested her. Ms. Wang was sentenced to a year and a half in the Baimalong Forced Labor Camp. At the time of this report, she is still being held in the camp.

Additional Information about the Persecution of Individual Practitioners

Mr. Lu Bosheng and his son, Mr. Lu Lianglin, lived in Anping Town in Anren County. Before the persecution started on July 20, 1999, Mr. Lu was a volunteer assistant. After the persecution started, every time something happened, the police and 610 Office wanted to "talk" to him. Because of the frequent harassment and pressure from the police, Mr. Lu was unable to practice. He died of diabetes in 2002. The police unexpectedly broke into Mr. Lu Lianglin's home in June 2004 and confiscated his property. Mr. Lu was arrested and sentenced to a year and a half. At the time of the report, Mr. Lu was still being persecuted in the Xinkaipu Forced Labor Camp in Changsha City.

Mr. Fan Sanfa is about 54 years old and from Chengping Township in Anren County. On December 29, 2000, Mr. Fan and other practitioners went to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong. Mr. Fan was arrested, sentenced to 4 years and imprisoned in the notorious Chishan Prison.

Ms. Zhou Xiaohong is 39 years old and a practitioner from Chenzhou City. The Anren police suspected her of sending home Dafa truth clarifying materials. They confiscated her property and arrested her. The police imprisoned her in the Anren Detention Center for a long time before releasing her.

Ms. Li Xiaoying was about 46 years old and from Chengping Township in Anren County. On December 29, 2000, Ms. Li and other practitioners went to appeal for justice for Falun Gong. The 610 Office, police, and staff from the township government arrested them and escorted them home. On their way home on a train, Ms. Li disappeared in the middle of the night. Her whereabouts are still unknown and she has never been heard from since then. The Anren 610 Office and those escorting her home offered no explanation to her family.

Mr. He Cangbai was 32 years old. He started practicing Falun Gong when he was in college in Chenzhou. After the persecution started, the higher officials pressured all lower levels, so that Mr. He's name was on every brainwashing list. Because Mr. He's wife went to appeal for Falun Gong in December 2000, she was sentenced to a year and a half in a forced labor camp. The repeated persecution made Mr. He more and more frightened and his temper changed a lot. He didn't want to continue his studies and was afraid of seeing strangers. He would get so frightened that he would jump up on a chair when he heard the sirens from passing police cars. He couldn't sit still and was anxious in new environments.
