(Clearwisdom.net) At around noon on July 11, 2005, as Ms. Zhang Peiyun was returning home after having lived in exile for four years, she was arrested by several policemen from the National Security Team of the Panzhihua City Police Station in Zaoziping, Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province. One of the policemen threatened her, "Let's watch and see how I torture you to death!"

Ms. Zhang Peiyun, 60 years old, is a practitioner from Zaoziping, Panzhihua City. Since she began practicing Falun Dafa and using "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" as a guide for her conduct, her morality has improved greatly. Many diseases that troubled her for years disappeared, and she became very healthy. Because she has adhered to her beliefs, however, this benevolent woman has suffered severe persecution over the past six years.

In late July 1999, Ms. Zhang was on a taxi with Dafa books that she had brought along with her to read. When the traffic police searched the taxi, they discovered her Dafa books and arrested her. When the policeman asked her where she had gotten the books, she refused to answer. The policeman threatened, "Do you dare to test me? I'll throw you into the Jinsha River and drown you, and no one will ever know." Ms. Zhang was detained for 24 hours and released.

In October 1999, Ms. Zhang made an appeal to the government on behalf of Falun Gong and was detained for 15 days. When she appealed a second time, she was again detained at the Panzhihua City Renhe Detention Centre for another fifteen days. While in detention, Ms. Zhang went on a hunger strike to protest, but several armed policemen pinned her down on the floor, force-fed her brutally, and stepped all over her. Ms. Zhang was badly tortured and her entire face was covered with blood. She was sentenced to imprisonment for a year and half by the Panzhihua 610 Office.

On July 6, 2001, the Panzhihua City Renhe District People's Courts conducted a trial of Falun Gong cultivators, and Ms. Zhang, who had already served her sentence, went to audit the trial. The police arrested her that same afternoon and brought her to the Panzhihua City Yanbian County Detention Centre, where she was persecuted. The police hung Ms. Zhang up by her handcuffs so that only her toes touched the ground. Policemen Tian Ping and several others from the city police station then beat her brutally, causing Ms. Zhang to have problems breathing. Only when she was on the brink of death did they take her down. After another month of imprisonment, Ms. Zhang was released, her arms and legs covered with bruises and wounds. When family member went to ask the police why they had beaten her, the station chief replied viciously, "So what if we beat her up?"

Due to constant harassment at home by the policemen, Ms. Zhang could not live normally at home anymore and was forced to live in exile.

Ms. Zhang's recent arrest on July 11, 2005 occurred as she was returning home after her four years in exile. After a policeman threatened, "Let's watch and see how I torture you to death," Ms. Zhang was taken to the Panzhihua City Yanbian Detention Center to suffer persecution. On August 16, she was taken there again to face more persecution.
