(Clearwisdom.net) According to Central News Agency's report on July 26, an NTDTV reporter in Hong Kong, Ms. Liang Zhen's mother and elder brother were arrested by police officers from Luzhou City, Sichuan Province because of their practice of Falun Gong. The Chinese authorities detained them in the name of "Utilizing [slandering term omitted] to undermine the law."
Ms. Liang Zhen, a Hong Kong resident, told Central News Agency that her mother Ms. Yuan Yuju and elder brother Mr. Liang Jinhui were arrested by police officers on July 19 from the computer shop they own. The police officers confiscated her parent's apartment and their computer shop. They took away property worth nearly 20,000 Yuan.
Ms. Liang said her mother and brother are now detained in the detention center affiliated with the Luzhou Municipal Bureau of Public Security. However, the police rejected her father's request of visiting her mother and brother. Because Liang's brother is a recovered mental patient and still needs to take medicine regularly to prevent his illness from reoccurring, their family members feel really concerned about him.
Ms. Liang said that recently the Luzhou Municipal Bureau of Public Security has arrested more than a dozen Falun Gong practitioners, which indicated that the authorities are initiating a new round of persecution against Falun Gong.
