(Clearwisdom.net) Fellow Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Gao Rongrong passed away on June 16, 2005 after suffering years of persecution. Gao Rongrong had been rescued recently, yet she was arrested again and died from the results of the ongoing severe persecution. We fellow practitioners in Shenyang City should all learn from this serious lesson and look inward to find our shortcomings. The views in this article might be a bit extreme; fellow practitioners, please read it with a good understandings and correct any mistakes.
Comparing the two rescue efforts, we could see that the first successful rescue of Ms. Gao involved almost all the practitioners in Shenyang City. Looking back later, I think we went to an extreme at that time. No matter what stage we are in, we must insist on clarifying the truth and exposing the evildoers at the same time. Though the priority of different activities at various times might be slightly different, we should not ignore any of them at any time. We should not require all the practitioners to stop what they are doing to participate in the same activity; rather, we need to organize our efforts from a broader perspective. Such an extreme attitude also caused busy practitioners to do another, "most important" activity. Because of this, they were unable to make enough efforts to rescue Gao Rongrong after she was arrested again, and neglected to expose the evil and to clarify the truth about Dafa to the local people.
What we did well during the first successful rescue was this: every one of us put Gao Rongrong's cause as a higher priority, though it did not mean that everyone was involved in every single step. Each fellow practitioner did his or her best to make their contributions; some increased the time of sending forth righteous thoughts to better eliminate the evil on the local level; some collected information about the persecution against Gao Rongrong; some went to the hospital where Gao Rongrong was, in order to send forth righteous thoughts in close proximity. Through all the Shenyang City practitioners' efforts, carried out with righteous thoughts and righteous deeds, Gao Rongrong was successfully rescued even under the evildoers' close monitoring. This greatly shocked the evil, including the most evil head, Jiang Zemin. The enforcers named the rescue, "Case No. 26." Working as a whole body, practitioners showed the power of Dafa.
Many local practitioners, nevertheless, paid too much attention to the "rescue effort" itself and ignored the fundamental basis - how to view this incident from the Fa's standpoint. These rescue efforts and activities could not replace actual cultivation. As a result, when Gao Rongrong was successfully rescued and the "mission" had succeeded, many fellow practitioners felt relieved after this success and then had a sense of complacency. Right then, the evil took advantage of our omissions, such as our attachments to showing off, being over-zealous, and being self-satisfied. Many practitioners did not mind their speech well enough, and inadvertently provided spies with clues.
In the meantime, we did not base our rescue efforts on the foundation of exposing the persecution and offering people salvation. When practitioners suggested sending a videotape of Gao Rongrong overseas, our coordinators did not take the suggestion seriously, and did not record credible evidence of the persecution that Gao Rongrong suffered. We merely hid Gao Rongrong away, and thereby missed a great opportunity to clarify the truth. At first, after our successful rescue, the evildoers did not dare to further persecute Ms. Gao. After a while, since the evildoers did not see any of our truth-clarification efforts, they started spreading rumors saying that criminals had abducted Gao Rongrong. Seeing that we still did not react to these rumors, the evildoers further searched for clues of Gao Rongrong's hiding place and arrested her again.
After Gao Rongrong was arrested again, most practitioners did not pay attention to the incident and instead simply exchanged the information among themselves. We did not make any truth-clarification materials about the persecution that Gao Rongrong suffered, and did not work well with her family members, either. As a result, we lost opportunities to gather more information about the persecution and lost an opportunity to expose the evil to the local people; we lost another chance to clarify the truth and save people.
The key problem is that many fellow practitioners do not have a correct understanding of the concept of one whole body, and do not have strong righteous thoughts. Some practitioners and coordinators thought that the second arrest of Gao Rongrong was caused by her personal shortcomings and the shortcomings of the several practitioners who executed the rescue. Some thought it was because Gao Rongrong needed to eliminate her last bit of karma, or that she might have contracts with the old forces. We did not look inward, to see if we, Shenyang Dafa practitioners as a whole body, had any omissions; we did not cooperate well as a whole body. When Gao Rongrong was in critical condition, an evildoing police officer said "Why isn't she dead yet?" This showed us how rampant the evil was! We did not shock the evil strongly enough.
The death of Gao Rongrong sends a warning signal to us Shenyang Dafa practitioners. In the first successful rescue of Gao Rongrong, Master gave us a good opportunity to clarify the truth and save people, to coordinate as a whole body and establish our mighty virtue. Didn't we miss this opportunity?
There were also some problems with the truth-clarifying materials. Over 90% of the truth-clarification materials in Shenyang recently have been about the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party. In the last two months, practitioners in some areas who distributed truth-clarification materials directly to the public couldn't get one piece of material or CD that was about the persecution of Dafa practitioners. The emphasis of clarifying the truth was entirely put on the Nine Commentaries. Some practitioners had a wrong concept: They simply thought that if an everyday person would only renounce the CCP, he would automatically obtain his eternal future life. They thought that by simply going against the CCP, one would be fundamentally saved.
Disclosing the evil nature of the CCP is of course an important factor and part of the course of offering sentient beings salvation in this period. It is also a starting-out topic and a bridge in clarifying the truth, to do away with the factors in people's minds that had poisoned them by the lies, and to let them recognize Dafa. The fundamental issue, though, regarding whether or not sentient beings can be saved is still what their thoughts toward Dafa are. Telling people of the contents of the Nine Commentaries cannot replace the truth clarification of the persecution of Dafa. If we take telling people the true nature of the CCP as the ultimate purpose in clarifying the truth, then our task has only been half accomplished.
I suggest that we adjust the proportions of our truth-clarification efforts to let people know about both the Nine Commentaries and the persecution of Dafa and don't focus only on one and neglect the other. When things occur that necessitate urgently disclosing the persecution to the public, we should do things in order of importance and urgency. Currently, there is not any follow-up information on almost all of the fellow practitioners who were abducted in Shenyang. The present whereabouts of several practitioners who participated in the rescue of Ms. Gao Rongrong are still unknown. Those practitioners are now locked up in prisons and are suffering huge tribulations at this time.
I suggest that all fellow practitioners whose circumstances allow them, pay immediate attention to this matter. At the same time, while constantly doing the " three things" well, we should intensively collect all the information and the persecution facts about Ms. Gao's second abduction. The purpose is to clarify the truth, disclose the evil, and eliminate the persecution. (Be careful: Telling people of the Nine Commentaries is important right now, but it is not equal to clarifying the truth; it cannot replace clarifying the truth of Dafa and the truth of the persecution.)
We also need to collect and compile the information on the current situation of all the fellow practitioners who are still locked up in prisons, because the persecution they are suffering is no less than that which Ms. Gao suffered. The same day that Gao Rongrong was disfigured, five other practitioners were also disfigured. Some practitioners' situation was even more severe than that of Gao Rongrong.
We are aware that since Gao Rongrong left us, fellow practitioners in Shenyang still haven't taken any action. The responsible coordinator/fellow practitioner hasn't paid attention to it, either. This situation has allowed the evildoers to continue to be rampant and to spread lies to people in Shenyang. They said something to the effect of, "A leader of Falun Gong died of illnesses and Falun Gong will make trouble," and so on. They sent out a large number of policemen, plainclothesmen, assistants and community administrators, dispersed over each residential area, to prevent practitioners from mourning for Ms. Gao and clarifying the truth. They even set up surveillance equipment around Ms. Gao's family and reinforced the police watch, so as to prevent practitioners from having contact with Ms. Gao's family. All this shows that what the evildoers' fear is precisely the exposure of the persecution of Gao Rongrong. Since we know of their fear, we should do even better. We should make use of this event to completely disclose the evil face of the persecutors and let the people of Shenyang see through their evil nature and how they constantly fabricate lies, ruthlessly torturing practitioners. We should clearly show that the evildoers have no shred of humanity left.
Nothing is accidental in cultivation. Every event happening today has something to do with practitioners' validating the Fa in the human world. Don't miss another opportunity again. Let us not leave regret on our cultivation path and on the path of saving sentient beings.
