Facts of the Persecution

1. Ms. Cheng Ailing Is Being Severely Tortured in Shandong Province First Women's Labor Camp

Ms. Cheng Ailing is 48 years old, and lives in the Taichengjinqiao Residential Area in Tai'an City, Shandong Province. In August 2000, she was abducted to the Shandong Province First Women's Labor Camp by the police, and served a three-year term. She was released in the spring of 2003, but only one year later, she was abducted again by police on April 1, 2004, and sent to the same labor camp for another three-year term. She is now locked in solitary confinement, and has endured all sorts of tortures. She had to stay in this small cell 24 hours a day, while police force her to watch videos slandering Falun Dafa and Master Li. Ms. Cheng has extreme pain in both her arms and shoulders, and is having difficulty changing her clothes.

2. The Persecution of Ms. Qian Xiuzhen's Family

Ms. Qian Xiuzhen is in her 60s, and lives in Xushui County, Baoding City, Hebei Province. Her first son, Jin Qi, has a college education. In the spring of 2000, Ms. Qian and her first son were arrested and taken to the township government offices, and detained several days just because they practice Falun Dafa. The CCP Township Secretary Qi Baoxiang (male) extorted two thousand yuan from her family, then released them. In November 2000, Ms. Qian was abducted; and her first son was abducted four days later from his home; both were held by the township government. Her family paid one thousand yuan to bail her out on December 26, 2000, but she was abducted again to the township government two days later, on December 28. She was sentenced to one year of forced labor, and her first son Jin Qi was sentenced to three years of forced labor.

After her release from the labor camp one year later, Ms. Xu was sent to the Xushui County Detention Center. During Ms. Qian and her first son's detention, her second son, who did not practice Falun Gong, could not bear the pressure and took poison and died. Ever since then, their family has had no money at all to pay the 610 Office's extortion. Thus, the 610 Office kept her in the detention center until she was sentenced to four years in the prison. Her son Jin Qi was released home in 2002, from the labor camp, but was arrested again in March 2003. Police and 610 Office officials secretly sentenced him to three years of forced labor again, and sent him to the Baoding Labor Camp. The camp has refused his family visitation since October 2004; his wife (not a practitioner) could not bear the pressure and divorced him.

3. Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Liu Enying from Benxi City, Liaoning Province Is Interrogated with Torture

Ms. Liu Enying is 33 years old, and lived on Zhuanshan Street, in Benxi City. On April 30, 2005, she was abducted from her parent's home by police from the Fujin Substation. In order to find out about Falun Dafa materials sources, police tortured her and hung her up on the heating pipes for a long period of time. Director Zhang Yang (gender unknown) had policemen carry a small ladder in, tied towels around her wrists, then cuffed her two wrists together after put the ladder between her arms and placed the ladder so she was hanging without touching the floor. Police then shackled her ankles, and tortured her by stepping down on her shackle chains and swinging her by the shackle chain.

4. Ms. Li Xiuhua Persecuted at Daowuai Police Station and Women's Prison of Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province

Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Xiuhua from Harbin City, used to be an employee of the Human Resources Office at the Harbin Steel Factory. She went to Beijing to appeal on September 2, 1999 and was abducted on Tiananmen Square. She was taken back to the Seventh Division of the Harbin City Police Department, where she was detained for 15 days. On July 16, 2000, she was abducted again, and was detained in the Seventh Division of the Harbin City Police Department for 48 days. On November 2, 2000, she was abducted by police from her home, was tortured using a "Carrying a Sword on the Back" (1) and Half Squat (2). Policemen also punched and kicked her viciously. She was illegally detained 11 months in the Hangyun Detention Center in Heilongjiang Province, and released after she went on a hunger strike to protest. On February 28, 2003, she was arrested by policemen from the State Security Division and taken to a hotel, inhumanly tortured, tied up, and then hung up without touching the floor until she passed out. Police took her down, saw that she was still alive, then hung her up again. After she regained consciousness, police put her on an Iron Chair (3), shocked the joints of her body with an electric baton, and force-fed her a mustard solution through her nose. After this inhuman torture that went on for three days, police jailed her in the Seventh Division of Harbin City Police Department, and sentenced her to 12 years in prison. She was sent to the Harbin Women's Prison on August 27, 2003, where she was tortured in a small cell (4) for seven days. Ms. Li Xiuhua went on a hunger strike to protest, and was brutally force-fed. Prison Guards left the rubber tube in her stomach 24 hours without taking it out. She was cuffed onto the metal railing, where she can only stand, but cannot sit down. She was locked in the small cell for 51 days. On August 2, 2004, Ms. Li Xiuhua went on hunger strike again, she was force-fed with a large quantity of salt, and injected with nerve damaging drugs. She was tortured like this four and half months.

5. Persecution Facts inside Harbin City Women's Prison

Starting from October 16, 2003, Harbin City Women's Prison guards forced Falun Dafa practitioners to stand motionless for a long time every day. After one week, they were left to freeze outside six days at the east end of the Men's Prison Building. Starting on December 6, 2003, practitioners were back cuffed in the washing room or the clothing storage room. During the nights, they were back cuffed onto the freezing cold cement floor. They were tortured like this for nearly two and a half months. On April 6, 2004, Falun Dafa practitioners (all female), Chen Yunxia, Zheng Hongnan, Miu Xiaolu, Li Dongxue, Sun Guizhi, Zheng Jinbo, and Wang Fajuan were all back cuffed onto the metal bed frames by prisoners who were directed by the guards to use a torture called "carrying a sword" (1). Ms. Chen Yunxia passed out three times. On April 9, 2004, Ms. Cheng Yunxia was hung up for more than two hours, which made her sweat severely, and she could not breathe and passed out. On July 26, 2004, more that 20 practitioners were tortured with the Big Hang Up (5), and Ms. Chen Yuxia passed out again. Prison guards directed prisoners to poke Ms. Cheng Yunxia's palms and feet with four thick needles, which covered her palms and the bottoms of the feet with purple black bruises. She could not speak for 15 days due to the cruel torture. Ms. Wang Fajuan was hung up on April 6, 2004, and appeared to have suffered a stroke. Two out of eight hung up practitioners had to see doctors. Ms. Miu Xiaolu's shirt was covered with blood due to a brutal forced-feeding. Ms. Shi Shuyuan also passed out many times when tortured by being hung up. Ms. Li Dongxue, Ms. Sun Guizhi, Ms. Han Xingli, Ms. Chen Yunxia, Ms. Zheng Hongli, and Ms. Liu Yaqin were all hung up by both hands for 15 days from 4 a.m. to 10 p.m. They were then back cuffed onto metal beds during the night. Their feet, legs, arms and hands were all severely swollen.

Ms. Chen Yuxia had been abducted twice before entering the Harbin Women's Prison. The first time was from February 26 to May 16, 2000, in Nongfeng Town, Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province. The second time was on April 22, 2002, after she was abducted by the Shuancheng City State Security agents. She was tortured with wooden sticks used to crush her fingers, which caused her to pass out many times. She could not take care of her daily needs for over twenty days, and bled extensively from between her fingers.

6. Persecutors' Crimes in Jinyinchuan Labor Camp in Xinjiang Autonomous Region

The Jinyinchuna Labor Camp guards forced Falun Dafa practitioners to do heavy labor every day. Guard Zhou Hu (male), Zhou Jie (male), Qiao Hong (male), Zhou Jianguo (male) and Office Head Chen tortured Falun Dafa practitioners at will. They used electric batons to shock Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Yin Yafeng until his body was covered with wounds. Another Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Teng Wancheng was back-cuffed causing his hands to severely swell.

Notes:

(1) "Carrying a Sword on the Back": The practitioner's hands are tied behind his back with one hand over the shoulder and the other arm and hand diagonally across the lower back. (4) "Small Cell" The detainee is locked up alone in a very small cell. The guards handcuff practitioners behind their backs in a fixed position, in which the practitioners can neither move nor lie down. The small cell is very damp with no sunshine. Detainees have to urinate and defecate in the cell. Only half of a regular meal is served to detainees locked up in a small cell during the daytime. The cell is infested with rats that come out at night. The stench in the small cell is so bad that it is difficult to breathe.

(5) "Big Hang Up" There are two forms in this torture: (i) With both hands cuffed behind the back and only the toes touching the ground, one is hung by a rope that is tied to the metal window frames; (ii) One hand of a practitioner is cuffed to one bunk bed and the other hand to another bed, and the two beds are pulled in the opposite directions.
