Prior to the 2005 Chinese New Year, policemen at Shijiazhuang City's Beijiao Prison aggravated the torture against determined Falun Dafa practitioners. Policeman Zhang Zhiguang, political head of the No.7 Division, incited criminals to torture Falun Gong practitioners and deprived practitioners of their basic rights. Practitioner Mr. Wang Bin was tortured continually. Though his ribs were broken from beatings, he is still forbidden to sleep or communicate with his family.

2. [Gaotang County, Shandong Province] Practitioner Peng Shuming Arrested While Making Falun Gong Truth-Clarifying Materials
It was discovered that at about 4:00 a.m. on February 8, 2005, practitioner Mr. Peng Shuming from Gaotang County, Shandong Province was arrested while making truth-clarifying materials. He has been on a hunger strike for over four days.

3. [Yichang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Chen Jizhen Arrested When Distributing Truth-Clarifying Discs
At about 2:40 p.m. on March 2, 2005, Chen Jizhen from Yichang City, Hubei Province was arrested while she was distributing Falun Gong truth-clarifying discs around the residential area in Dongshan Village, Yichang City.
4. [Beijing] Wang Shurong Sentenced to Two Years of Forced Labor for Clarifying the Truth to Pupils
In December 2004, Ms. Wang Shurong, a practitioner in her 60s living at the Xueyuan Road area in the Haidian District, Beijing, clarified the truth about Falun Gong to some pupils. Afterwards, police arrested and sent her into Beijing's Qinghe Detention Center. In January 2005, she was sentenced to two years of forced labor for her determination to practice Falun Gong. During the detention period, police denied all visits from her family.
5. [Shuibin County, Heilongjiang Province] Latest News on Zhang Jingdong
In early January 2005, because practitioner Mr. Zhang Jingdong did not drink water or take food for eight days and his life was in peril, personnel from Shuibin County Court, Police Department, and 610 Office were afraid of being held accountable. They sent Zhang into the Enforced Training Team at the Xianglan Forced Labor Camp. After torturing Zhang for one and a half months, they transferred Zhang into the No. 4 Ward of the Jiamusi City Prison on February 28, 2005 without informing Zhang's family.
On March 9, Zhang called his family to have them deposit some money [for his daily use]. Only then did his family find out about his whereabouts. On March 11, Zhang was able to meet with his family. During the visit, two team heads in the prison monitored their conversation. Because Zhang would not give in, one team head claimed that if Zhang did not give up Falun Gong, the prison authorities would deprive him of the monthly family visit. The head also grabbed the visitor certificate issued to his wife away from her, because she did not deny that she was a practitioner.

6. [Xishui City, Hubei Province] Fan Chengfang and Zhi'er Sent to a Brainwashing Class
Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Fan Chengfang from Guankou Town, 65 years old, was director of the Guankou Town Agricultural Bank. She was recognized as a "Model Official of the County" every year during her tenure. In the beginning of March 2005, officials from local 610 Office collaborated with officials from the County Agricultural Bank. They abducted Fan Chengfang and took her to the Wuhan City Brainwashing Class. The bank sent a person named Wang Jiquan to the brainwashing class to assist in the around-the-clock persecution of Fan Chengfang.
At the beginning of March 2005, practitioner Zhi'er from the Xishui County Environmental Sanitation Bureau was abducted and taken to the Wuhan City Brainwashing Class. The perpetrators were personnel from the 610 Office and her work unit. This happened only because she often clarified the truth about Falun Dafa to people at work or while sweeping the streets.
7. [Jiutai City, Jilin Province] Partial Information about Zhang Guiyun and Zhang Xiuhua being Tortured by Police
On December 16, 2003, Liu, a policeman from Jiutai City Court, and some policemen from Jiutai City Detention Center handcuffed practitioners Zhang Guiyun, Zhang Xiuhua, Tian Rukai and Wang Dianhua with the hands to their backs, put a loop around their necks (normally only prisoners sentenced to the death penalty are treated like this) and sent them to the Jiutai City Court for a hearing. Fu Wenhe, also nicknamed Fu Laowai, a policeman from Jiutai City Detention Center, stomped practitioner Zhang Guiyun in the stomach and chest so hard that Zhang Guiyun could hardly breathe.
On December 12, 2003, personnel from the Jiutai City Detention Center sent three practitioners to the Changchun City Police Hospital for torture. They are practitioners Ms. Wang Yanqin, who has heart disease and just had surgery for lung cancer; Ms. Gao Shulan, who is 65 years old and has high-blood pressure and impaired brain function; and Ms. Li Jianying, who has severe pain in the stomach and chest and cannot eat after having been subjected to beatings and being put on the Tiger Bench.

8. [Dianbai County, Guangdong Province] Huang Ai'wen Detained for Distributing Truth-Clarifying Materials
Ms. Huang Ai'wen from Shalang Town was arrested while distributing truth-clarifying materials in Foshan City. She has been sent back to Dianbai County's No. 1 Detention Center. Her parents and husband went to the police department and to the 610 Office, and requested to visit her but were refused. Ms. Huang Ai'wen has been on a hunger strike all along. Her family members go to the police department daily to demand her release, but personnel from the police department and from the 610 Office have responded with only threats.

At 9:00 a.m. on March 10, 2005, personnel from Xianning City's 610 Office, the police department, the National Security Team and the Yihaoqiao Police Station collaborated with practitioner Ms. Wang Xia's work unit and arrested her at work. Ms. Wang works for the Infectious Diseases Section at the Xianning City Central Hospital. They also ransacked her home, confiscated a computer, two printers and a lot of truth-clarifying materials. Her home materials production center was destroyed. At present, Wang Xia is being held at the Xianning City Detention Center. Her teenage son is left at home without care. Around the Chinese Lunar New Year, surveillance cars constantly appeared near Wang Xia's home.

10. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] A Dozen Inmates Implicated for Dafa Practitioners' Hunger Strike
Peng Lifeng, a guard in Daqing City Detention Center, forbade a dozen inmates who aren't practitioners to eat while practitioner Zhang Shuyun (who is currently still detained at Daqing City Detention Center) was staging a hunger strike. This went on from December 2004 to January 2005. Peng claimed they would not be allowed to eat until the "Falun Gong" starts to eat. After skipping two meals, the inmates vented their resentment against Zhang Shuyun, and verbally abused and bullied her.

Practitioner Ms. Zhang Meiping, 54 years old, is a practitioner from the Chaoyang District. On January 6, 2005 police arrested her while she was posting Dafa truth-clarifying signs in the Chaoyang District Farm. They put her into the Chaoyang District Police Department. Her situation is unknown currently.
12. [Urumqi City, Xinjiang Autonomous Region] Police Arrest Hou Jihong for Distributing Truth-Clarifying Materials
During the night of March 10, 2005, police from the Shaqu District Police Department arrested Hou Jihong from Urumqi City while she was distributing truth-clarifying materials in her own residential area. Her current whereabouts are unknown.
13. [Tonghua County, Liaoning Province] Police Arrest Liu Zhimin While He is Making Truth-Clarifying Materials
During the night of March 13, 2005, police arrested practitioner Mr. Liu Zhimin from Tonghua County while he was making some truth-clarifying materials. His computer was also confiscated. Right now he is being held at the Tonghua County Detention Center.

On January 20, 2005, personnel from the Seventh Street Police Precinct in the Tiexi District arrested practitioner Ms. Shi Guirong from Shenyang City when she was clarifying the truth about Falun Gong at Zhaogong Park. At present she is being held at the Subei Detention Center in Sujiatun.
15. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] National Security Team Members Arrest Several Practitioners
On March 8, 2005, personnel from the No. 4 Team of the National Security Division from the Changchun City Police Department arrested practitioners Wang Enguo, Ms. Fang and Wang Peng from the Changchun Automobile Factory; Li Zhiguo from Songyuan City and Yang Hui (pen name) from Gongzhuling City. Practitioner Li Zhiguo came to Changchun City to buy lumber for his home construction and brought the MRI results of his brother's cerebral tumor with him to show to a doctor. He went to a hospital with Wang Enguo, and they were arrested when they came back.
The police looted Wang Enguo's home, confiscating a computer, a printer, a copier , Falun Gong books and truth-clarifying materials, 8,000 yuan in cash, a bank deposit book worth 6,000 yuan and a motorcycle.
Policemen Gao Jun (the team leader), Li Yong, Sun Deming and Liu Wenbin took part in the arrest, and now some policemen are staying at Wang Enguo's home. When Wang Enguo's mother-in-law arrived, police searched and interrogated her. Wang Enguo's wife walked away with the power of righteous thoughts. At present, two children are left at home without care. The practitioner couple's son is in the second grade and their daughter is only 15 months old.
16. [Dong'e County, Shandong Province] Practitioner Lei Yudong Arrested
On March 8, 2005, policeman You Lingsi from Dong'e County, Shandong Province and three others who wore plain clothes and drove an unmarked car to practitioner Mr. Lei Yudong's home. Nobody was at home at the time, so they waited. When Lei Yudong returned, You Lingsi and others forcibly broke into and ransacked Lei's home without any legal warrant. They turned his home and store upside down. They confiscated a copy of the book Zhuan Falun and arrested Lei.
On February 27, 2005, this gang of police officers arrested practitioner Ms. Gao Yuzhen and extorted 1,000 yuan from her.

17. [Guantao County, Hebei Province] Several Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Ma Jinxiu, 35 years old, runs a feed store in Qiren Village, Guantao County. At around 1:00 a.m. on February 24, 2005, policemen broke into her store and arrested her. They took her husband Xu Yanli (not a practitioner) away as well. Currently Ma Jinxiu is being held at the Chengguan Police Precinct in Guantao County. Two children were left at home without care.
Practitioner Ms. Qiao Nu and her husband Jin Shan live at Zhongmagu Village in Guantao County. Some time after 5:00 a.m. on February 24, 2005, policemen broke into their home and arrested her and her husband, who is not a practitioner. At present Ms. Qiao is being held at the Chengguan Police Precinct.
Mr. Zhang Huaijun, 48 years old, lives at Ximalan Village in Guantao County. At about 1:00 a.m. on February 24, 2005, policemen broke into his home and forcibly took him and his wife away. Their mentally ill child cannot take care of himself and is left home without care.

19. [Hebei Province] Ph.D. Candidate Wang Guoxin Sentenced to Two Years of Forced Labor for Clarifying the Truth about Falun Gong
Mr. Wang Guoxin, an employee in the Educational Research Institute, Hebei Normal University, was arrested after the 2005 Chinese New Year for clarifying the truth about Falun Gong. Beijing Normal University, where he is a Ph.D. candidate, expelled him from school. Police sentenced him to two years of forced labor. Currently Wang Guoxin is being held at the Lianggezhuang Detention Center in the Chaoyang District, Beijing.
20. [Kaifeng City, Henan Province] Some Facts about the Persecution of Falun Gong Practitioners at the Daxing District Police Precinct
On March 6, 2005, personnel from the Daxing District Police Precinct arrested practitioner Zhang Zhagen from home at an eastern suburb of Kaifeng City and put him/her into the city's detention center.
In September 2004, the police arrested practitioner Ms. Xue Zhenhong from home. Policeman Wang Kai beat and kicked her many times, and then sent her to a forced labor camp. Ms. Xue was released because the forced labor camp refused to accept her. In order to find out the source of truth-clarifying fliers, the precinct personnel detained a disabled, elderly female practitioner from Qi County and held her at the Rest House of the Huanghe Water Conservancy School, which is opposite the precinct. The police then extorted a confession by torture. They handcuffed the woman and hung her up for five days and nights. They also slapped and beat her until she fainted.

21. [Anshun City, Guizhou Province] Wang Qin Sentenced to Three Years of Forced Labor Because Policemen Suspect of Her Making Truth-clarifying Materials
Practitioner Ms. Wang Qin is from Zhijin County, Anshun City, Guizhou Province. In December 2004, personnel from Zhijin County Police Department arrested her because they suspected that she was making truth-clarifying materials, though they did not have any evidence. She refused to allow the policemen to illegally search her house, so they forcibly took her away and put her into the Zhijin County Detention Center. One month later, on January 20, 2005, she was sent to a women's (Zhongba) forced labor camp against her will to serve a term of three years.
22. [Beijing] Guo Yulan Has Been Detained for Over Five Months
On September 30, 2004, practitioner Ms. Guo Yulan from Beijing Normal University was arrested for distributing truth-clarifying materials. Five months have passed, and she has refused to give up her belief. It was reported that on around March 20, the police intended to put her on trial.
23. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Zhang Julong Sentenced to Three Years of Imprisonment for Posting Truth-Clarifying Materials
Recently it was reported that practitioner Mr. Zhang Julong, 43 years old, a worker at the Dongli District Xingguang Factory, was sentenced to three years of imprisonment at the Nangang District Court. On March 7, he was sent to the "Tightly Administered Team" in the Harbin City Xinjian Prison. While he was detained at the Nangang District Detention Center, his parents were forbidden to see him.
Zhang Julong began to practice Falun Gong in 1995. In October 1999, he went to Beijing to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong but was detained for nine months. After being released, he went back to work and insisted on studying the Fa, doing the exercises and clarifying the truth.
On October 14, 2004, when he was posting truth-clarifying materials at the Qingbin Residence Area in the Nangang District, personnel from the Nangang District Police Precinct arrested him. In order to find out the source of the materials, policemen beat him savagely. Then the police required the leaders of the Xingguang Factory to pay over 3,000 yuan in "medical fees" because Zhang was seriously injured. Before he was sent to prison, his over seventy-year-old parents finally saw him. Zhang Julong said to his parents, "I haven't involved others. What I'm doing is offering people salvation. I'm innocent! They are the criminals! Please don't worry about me."
24. [Guangdong Province] Police Shock Xia Xianqiang with an Electric Baton in the Sanshui Forced Labor Camp
In July 2000, Mr. Xia Xianqiang, a Falun Gong practitioner from Meizhou City, Guangdong Province, openly validated the Fa, but police forcibly sent him to the Sanshui Forced Labor Camp. Mr. Xia was detained at the No.2 Team of the No.8 Division (it has currently been reorganized into a Drug Rehabilitation Center). The No.2 Team worked in a workshop assembling lighter parts. Because the profit is huge, policemen forced the prisoners there to work day and night. They also shocked and beat the prisoners to force them to work more. They often beat Xia Xianqiang ruthlessly. Chief Fu, who was in charge of the production, often shocked Xia Xianqiang's head, face, lips, neck and fingers for long stretches in order to try to force Xia to give up his belief.
