Facts of the Persecution

1. Mr. Hu Chougai's daughter demands her father's release

My father, Mr. Hu Chougai, 40 years old, is from Chenxi County, Hunan Province. On March 13, 2004, personnel from the Wang Anping Township government held my father in custody and later that same day sent him to the Chenxi County Detention Center. The next day he was taken to the county's National Security Division for interrogation. They hung my father up from a window frame for several hours. Then they used fire tongs to clamp my father's fingers. They hit him hard with their fists and kicked him.

When I went to visit my father on March 18, I saw that the area around his eyes was black and blue. He was semi-conscious and his fingers were trembling. The lawless perpetrators collected some unfounded evidence through indecent means and are now preparing to send my father to prison.

My mother has already been illegally sentenced to forced labor and is currently being detained in the Changsha Women's Forced Labor Camp. The only ones left at home now are my older brother, our aged and ill grandparents, and me (under-age).

I hereby demand the release of my father!

2. A family of three died while trying to avoid the persecution

Dafa practitioner Ms. Gao Xiang, was from Malan Village, Shahekou District, Dalian City. She was unlawfully arrested numerous times for practicing Falun Gong and suffered much during the persecution. In order to avoid the constant harassment from the police, Ms. Gao and her family left their home and moved away. They moved into their new residence in the Lübo residential precinct in Dalian City around 10:30 p.m. on November 22, 2002.

To our great sorrow, the family of three, Ms. Gao Xiang, her daughter Ms. Zhang Xinxin and her husband Ms. Zhang Jiaqing died from gas poisoning around mid-day the next day.
