Facts of the Persecution

1. Ms Chen Aiye Recounts Being Persecuted by Police

My name is Chen Aiye. I am 43 years old, and from Xileng Village, Xubao Township, Wenxian County, Jiaozuo City, Henan Province. I began to practice Falun Dafa in June of 1996. In February 2000, I went to Beijing to validate the Fa and was arrested by policeman from Wenxian County and taken back. I was detained in the county detention center for 35 days. In June 2001, several policemen arrested me at work and took me to the township police station. Then they ransacked my home and confiscated my Zhuan Falun. Zheng Guoying of the township police station and Jin Jin, the Deputy Head of the police department, took me to Wenxian Detention Center. After catching me practicing the exercises in the detention center, prison guard Zhang shackled me. Not long after that I could no longer use my feet, which had been injured. I went on a hunger strike to protest my unlawful treatment. After seven days into the hunger strike, I was force-fed under the scorching sun.

2. Appeal by the Family of a Falun Dafa Practitioner: Immediately Release Li Shaotie

My family member Li Shaotie is a Dafa practitioner. Two months after he practiced Falun Gong all his illnesses disappeared. He was then full of vigor and became more broadminded. The neighbors praised him because he was a good man. However, such a good man was arrested by the Jiamusi Railway Police Department and sentenced to three years of forced labor, simply because he talked to people about the persecution of Falun Dafa. On September 14, 2004, without any legal procedures, Li Shaotie was sent to Suihua Forced Labor Camp where he suffered inhuman torture. He was deprived of sleep. Whenever his eyes closed, he was verbally abused and beaten. On September 16, he was again cruelly beaten. In the beginning of October, the criminals began to beat him again. He shouted, "Falun Dafa is good!" Then four or five prison guards beat him brutally. Division Head Jiang Kuibin continuously beat his face with an electric baton until his face became dark purple and disfigured. One of his teeth was broken and his mouth was injured and full of blood. Jiang Kuibin then began to shock him with an electric baton and kick his legs with leather shoes until they were all dark purple. Jiang also stepped with his leather shoe on Mr. Li's toes and twisted it. Mr. Li was wearing slippers at the time. His toes began bleeding and he lost consciousness.

3. The Deputy Head of the Juancheng County Police Department Liu Jitang Is Actively Participating in the Persecution

Liu Jitang, the Deputy Head of the Juancheng County Police Department continues to inhumanly torture Falun Dafa practitioners. He was the Secretary of the Disciplinary Inspection Commission of the County Police Department and was in charge of detention centers. At that time Liu instructed prison guards to force Dafa practitioners to verbally abuse their Teacher in front of all the criminals. He would only release them after he thought that their swearing was sufficiently depraved. By the end of 2004, Liu had been appointed the Deputy Head of the Police Department and leader of the 610 Office. He became adept in deceiving people, ransacking practitioners' homes, and tracking and arresting practitioners. He began an unrestrained persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners. He reintroduced ransacking, which had not been done for quite some time. On China's Lunar New Year's eve, practitioners Mr. Li Xiuping and Mr. Wu Fumin were arrested and two other practitioners were forced to leave home and become homeless to avoid being arrested and persecuted.

On January 13, 2005, policeman Chen Baodong confiscated practitioner's Ms. Shen Shuge's mobile phone. Chen phoned Ms. Shen and told her that he would return it, but as soon as Ms. Shen went to the police station she was unlawfully detained at the County Detention Center. The policeman threatened to send her to a forced labor camp.

On February 2, 2005, at 4 a.m., Falun Dafa practitioner Wu Zhiyong was arrested and taken to the County Detention Center. The police threatened to arrest more Falun Dafa practitioners after the Chinese lunar New Year.

4. Persecution Suffered by Practitioners in Tianjin Area

Falun Dafa practitioners Ms. Yang Yuting, 36 years old and Ms. Zhang Xiujuan, 41 years old, both from Dongli District, were sentenced to two years of forced labor. Because they had been on hunger strike during their detention, the medical examination at the Dongli Hospital showed that they were in very poor health. None of the forced labor camps were willing to take them, so they were sent back home. The police threatened that these two practitioners would still be sent to forced labor camps once they were healthy again.

Ms. Li Jianchun, 49 years old, is a Falun Dafa practitioner from Beichen District. Due to inhuman torture during detention, she became partially paralyzed, and the forced labor camp refused to take her in. She is still being held at the Tianjin Municipal Police Department detention center.

Falun Dafa practitioners Ms. Shen Jianlan, 48 years old, and Ms. Wang Guilan, 40 years old, are both from Beichen District. They were sentenced to one year and three months forced labor after being reported for clarifying the truth about the persecution of Falun Gong. They are still held at the Tianjin Municipal Police Department detention center.

Ms. Fu Xhaojuan, a Falun Dafa practitioner from Hexi District, was sentenced to three years of forced labor and is now being held in the Banqiao Forced Labor Camp.

Ms. Song Yunling, 43 years old, Ms. Wu Xiulan 50 years old, Ms. Zhao Xuemin, 50 years old and Ms. Zhang Zhihong, 47 years old are Falun Dafa practitioners from Dongli District. They were sentenced by the Dongli Police Department to two years of forced labor and now being held at the Banqiao Forced Labor Camp.

It is rumored that the Tianjin Municipal Police Department unlawfully detained several dozens Falun Dafa practitioners. They sent them to prisons and forced labor camps where they have been subjected to brainwashing.

5. Crimes Committed by Policeman Zhang Deqing of Yushu City, Jilin Province

The policeman Zhang Deqing of Yushu City, Jilin Province abducted and arrested at least two hundred Falun Dafa practitioners. At least one hundred practitioners were sent to forced labor camps. He unlawfully interrogated and beat up practitioners before sending them to the detention centers, then extorted large amounts of money from their families. Another policeman, Xu Peng, demanded 20 thousand yuan from a family. If the family failed to pay, the practitioner would not be released from detention, beaten up or sent to a forced labor camp. If the forced labor camp refused to accept the practitioner, Zhang Deqing and his men would demand that the forced labor camp accept them or prepare some false documents to trick the forced labor camps into accepting them. If all this failed, he would not release the practitioners, but levy heavy fines. It could be one or several thousand yuan. Some practitioners who had been detained several times became penniless. Some had to leave the area and move to other parts of the country. Some parents were tortured to death and their children became orphans.
