(Clearwisdom.net) I have been making calls to China to expose the persecution for more than two years. My overall awareness is that our fellow practitioners in China have been suffering from the persecution of genocide for more than six years. I feel we should have more and more practitioners participating in calling China, and everyone should feel duty-bound; however, this is not the case in reality. I feel many practitioners have not firmly resolved to break through the psychological barrier, and consider this area as the forbidden zone. I would like to share my understanding of the Fa, as a reference for everyone.

When I searched for persecution cases on the Internet a few days ago, I saw a news report on Dajiyuan (the Chinese Epoch Times) that a female practitioner, Ms. Sun Yan, who was a teacher from Dalian City, was tortured by the method of "Five Horses Splitting a Body" (1). I felt very sad. When I retold this story, a practitioner said, "Don't talk about it any more. It is too cruel to hear." This kind of tragedy, however, is happening to practitioners every day in China. The Minghui (Chinese language version of Clearwisdom) website puts the facts of the persecution on the front page, and the Latest News from China on that day was about cases of arrest and persecution. Here I would like to quote a short paragraph from this news: "What is hard for people to imagine is that the guards encouraged inmates to insert hot pepper into her vagina, and strike her private parts with a mop handle and the corner of a chair's back. Blood flowed down her legs onto the floor. They also pulled a thick knotted rope back and forth against her vagina, causing severe swelling and profuse bleeding. As a result, she had trouble urinating and limped for a year." The Epoch Times titled their article, "Acts of Gangsters in Torturing a Female." I thought this was much worse than the behavior of gangsters. This should be called the acts of the devil!

Teacher said in Zhuan Falun, "It is a xinxing issue if you do not help stop a murder or arson when you see it. How will you otherwise demonstrate that you are a good person?" Besides, they are our fellow practitioners.

In "Explaining the Fa During the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U.S. West Fa Conference," a practitioner asked Teacher,

"I often feel like every day I'm busy, every day I'm caught up in doing things, and yet the results aren't good. And sometimes I feel indifferent towards certain Dafa work and rescuing fellow students. How should I change this state?"

Teacher answered,

"I can only tell you to schedule your time reasonably. Everyone's time is limited, and Master knows that. So [you should try to figure out] how to budget your time reasonably. You have to rescue your fellow cultivators and Dafa disciples--we can't let the evil persecute them wildly and without restraint."

As the saying goes, "Rescuing people is like fighting a fire." Why do we all give way to the ambulance on the road? Isn't human life precious? I want to ask, "Can we feel the persecuted practitioner's suffering and danger, or have we already become numb?"

Furthermore, I do not think making calls to clarify the truth is merely rescuing fellow practitioners. In "Teaching the Fa at the Washington, D.C. Fa Conference" Teacher said,

"Wherever there's a problem, that is where you need to clarify the truth and save people. Don't take a detour when you run into difficulties. When you see something that does us harm, or when you see something blocking our validating the Fa, don't take a detour -- you should face it, and clarify the truth and save those beings."

I think that the police officers as well as personnel in the forced labor camps and the courts that illegally put practitioners on trial and so on are controlled by the evil. They ignorantly commit crimes against Dafa, and they are also the objects for salvation. In addition, the damage they have done to Dafa practitioners seriously affects the overall salvation of sentient beings. All these are big problems and they occur in most evil places. Of course, we need most to exert more righteous thoughts, gather more wisdom, and apply full force to deal with it.

I believe that we all understand from Teacher's lecture that Dafa practitioners' main body is in China, because the persecution is severe there and the poison is also severe. In this case, I am thinking, whether we should also take time to pick up the phone and say a few just words for the practitioners in China, and directly express our support to them. Meanwhile we can hold anti-torture displays, July 20 candlelight vigils and other activities. Would this not be more significant? In "Teaching the Fa at the 2003 Atlanta Fa Conference," a practitioner asked Teacher,

"On this holiday, please accept all Dafa disciples' respect and gratitude. We will definitely do well and make Master happier and less worried."

Teacher replied,

"Thank you! (Applause) Dafa disciples are all still being persecuted. You want me to be happy, but I can't be. How many Dafa disciples are being persecuted in those evil labor camps in China at this very moment! But I do appreciate your goodwill."

If we are able to realize Teacher's heavy heart, then should we not take more concrete and direct actions?

We often say the progress of Fa-rectification is rapid. If we still have fear or other barriers in truth-clarification, should we not move fast to get rid of it further? In "Hurry Up And Tell Them" Teacher told us,

"As Dafa disciples tell people the facts, it's like sharp swords shooting out together from their mouths, shredding apart the rotten demons' lies. Lose no time and save them, hurry up and tell them."

So in these several years, have we sharpened our swords? Although I have clarified the truth directly for over two years, I feel deeply that I have many shortcomings, and need to make great efforts and break through.

Recently, I heard people say, "Now is the age of the media, it is too slow to clarify the truth one by one." I would like to put forward my opinion. In "Teaching the Fa at the Meeting with Asia-Pacific Students" Teacher mentioned,

"Clarifying the truth directly and clarifying the truth via the media complement each other. You can't rely on just one way of clarifying the truth."

I think that even if everyone gets a copy of a newspaper from every media source outside of China, the police officers and personnel of forced labor camps or courts may still not see them. Therefore, we still need to use the phone to deliver the news or directly frighten the evil. This is the most effective and direct way to reach them. Moreover, it does not involve any specialty or technique, and the media can still be utilized to its fullest.

Now, let's review Teacher's words in "Teaching the Fa at the 2003 Midwest-U.S. Fa Conference."

"Never mind that the evil beings are so rampant, they're all quaking with fear and trepidation, they're afraid. Of course, before being completely cleaned out the wicked beings will still direct evil people to do bad things. The evil people lose all rationality when they're being controlled by the evil, but once they calm down they're afraid. Every phone call from our students shocks them to the point that they can't sleep at night, they're that afraid."

In Teacher's article, He points out that our phone calls have such a powerful effect in shocking the evil. Why don't we actually do it?

Every fellow practitioner, I think that besides Dafa practitioners, people who care about practitioners being arrested and tortured are limited. Practitioners in China also tell us personally that phone calls have a good effect in terrifying the evil, and hope that we can make more phone calls.

The telephone is the most convenient tool, and normally we like to use it to make contacts, but when we need to clarify the truth to the Chinese people, we are actually afraid to use it. Is this something for us to cultivate?

Note:

(1) "Five Horses Splitting a Body" - in this torture method the practitioner's four limbs are pulled tightly in four directions. A sheet is tied around the waist, pulled tight and tied across the room. The practitioner feels pulled in five directions. Beating the practitioner intensifies the feeling that the body is being split in parts. See illustration on http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2005/3/9/58287.html
