Guards in Tianjin City Shuankou Forced Labor Camp Instigated Inmates to Torture Falun Gong Practitioners
In February 2003, the Tianjin City Shuankou Forced Labor Camp began the arbitrary persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. Prison guards from the First Brigade instigated inmates to deprive practitioners of sleep, and to force them to stand overnight in a military posture with legs straight and motionless. They intended to exhaust the practitioners and break their will. Practitioners in the Third Brigade were also persecuted, and were only allowed to sleep from 4:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. daily. Except for meal breaks, practitioners had to stand on the icy cold ground with bare feet, or were tortured with other methods, such as beatings with a wooden club or fists, being jabbed with needles, being tied on or hung from beds, and having their shins rolled over with a wooden club.
