1. [Datong City, Shanxi Province] Practitioner Ms. Peng Jufen Arrested for Distributing Truth-Clarification Materials
On the afternoon of November 2, 2005, Ms. Peng Jufen from Datong City, Shanxi Province, was arrested while distributing truth-clarification materials at Datong City Electric Technician School. She was detained at the school before being taken to the Laopingwang Police Station by officer Dong Ping. She was later transferred to the Chenzhuang Second Detention Center in Datong City and has been detained there ever since.
Ms. Peng's family reported her missing to the local police station. Officers at the local station told the family members that Ms. Peng's disappearance had nothing to do with them, so they could not be of any help. Furthermore, the family would have to search for Ms. Peng themselves. On the afternoon of November 5, 2005, only after Ms. Peng's family members and friends unsuccessfully searched all of Datong City, did they find out that Ms. Peng Jufen had been arrested.

2. [Zhuji, Zhejiang Province] Persecution Facts of Practitioner Ms. Fu Xiaolian Exposed; Her Son Is Sentenced to Three Years of Imprisonment
Practitioner Ms. Fu Xiaolian from Zhuji, Zhejiang Province, was arrested and taken to the Xinchang Brainwashing Center. She was then sentenced to one year of forced labor because of her steadfast belief in Falun Gong. The news of her persecution was published on the Internet. This made the local government very nervous and now they are trying to find out and arrest those who published the news on the Internet.
The authorities then searched Ms. Fu's home and arrested her son, Fu Yue, who also practices Falun Gong. They also searched Fu Yue's office and confiscated his personal belongings, including a laptop computer. They severely beat him and tried to get a confession from him. Without any evidence, the authorities believed that Mr. Fu published the news on the Internet and forced him to write a so-called guarantee statement. Fu Yue was then sentenced to three years of imprisonment and is now detained at Zhejiang Prison.
3. [Mianyang City, Sichuan Province] Practitioner Mr. Deng Jiangang Brutally Tortured at Xinhua Forced Labor Camp in Mianyang City
In December 2002, practitioner Mr. Deng Jiangang from Pengshan County went to Beijing. Having benefited much from the practice, Mr. Deng wanted to appeal on behalf of Falun Gong. He was arrested and brought back to Pengshan County by local policeman Xiao Deyuan. He was then beaten so savagely that he lost his hearing and developed poor eyesight. Even after he was disabled from the beatings, he was still sentenced to two years of forced labor.
At Xinhua Forced Labor Camp, he suffered all kinds of tortures that included being tied up, shocked with electric batons, and repeatedly beaten with a club. The guards deprived him of sleep and forced him to sit through brainwashing sessions. They also instigated other inmates to beat and monitor him. A criminal inmate once broke four of Mr. Deng's ribs.
The labor camp authorities beat and torture practitioners to try and force them to give up their belief in "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance." If practitioners are steadfast in their belief, the forced labor camp refuses to release them when their term is up. Instead, they continue to try to "transform" the practitioners. Mr. Deng's term was illegally extended for another eight months. He was not released until August 25, 2003.
On May 13, 2004, while Mr. Deng was telling people the facts about Falun Gong, he was arrested again by policeman Xiao Deyuan and sentenced to one year of forced labor. He is currently detained at the Xinhua Forced Labor Camp.

4. [Beijing City] Practitioners in Haidian District Persecuted
On November 20, 2005, 58-year-old Ms. Geng Xinping was arrested for distributing truth-clarification materials. She is now detained at the Haidian Detention Center.
In early September 2005, 57-year-old practitioner Ms. Yi Li was arrested and detained at the Haidian Detention Center for distributing truth-clarification materials. The Procurator's office has taken up her case and is ready to issue her sentence.
Before President Bush's visit to China, the Haidian Detention Center transferred the practitioners from their cells to a "hidden" place in order to cover up its persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. The authorities also told the other inmates that if any outside people came to inquire about the situation, they were not allowed to reveal that practitioners were detained there.
5. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Practitioner Ms. Wu Yangzhen Arrested and Taken to Sanshui Brainwashing Center
In the morning of November 17, 2005, practitioner Ms. Wu Yangzhen from Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, was arrested from her home by more than a dozen people from the local police station. Her family members were not told where she was detained. Only after the news of her arrest was exposed on the Internet did the police station notify her family of her location. However, her family members were not allowed to visit her and could not give her any necessities such as extra clothes.
The party committee secretary at Guangdong Province Measurement Research Institute, where Ms. Wu worked, asked the police station to arrest and "transform" her. Ms. Wu Yangzhen's family went to her work unit, their neighborhood committees, and the police station to ask for a permit to visit her. However, none of the organizations responded to their request.

6. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Practitioner Ms. Zhang Qingxi Sentenced to Three Years of Forced Labor
Practitioner Ms. Zhang Qingxi from Quan Village, Yuanshi County, Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province, was tricked into leaving her home. She was then taken directly to the Shijiazhuang City Forced Labor Camp. No one notified her family of her arrest. Her family and friends searched for her everywhere and finally learned that she had been sentenced to forced labor.
Her family members went to the county police department to ask about her situation. However, the police department didn't know anything. The county's 610 Office officials told them that she might be sentenced to one year of forced labor but were unsure. Her family then asked officials at the Shijiazhuang City Forced Labor Camp, who told them that Ms. Zhang was sentenced to three years of forced labor. Her family member have not been allowed to visit her.
Ms. Zhang's husband returned home after four years of going from place to place to avoid persecution, only to find out that his wife was illegally sentenced to forced labor.
7. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Two Practitioners Arrested for Distributing Truth-Clarification Materials
Around 9:00 p.m. on November 29, 2005, Ms. Huang Guohua and Ms. Su Xiaohua, both in their 40's, were arrested by policemen from Sizhuang Township Police Station while distributing truth-clarification materials in Sizhuang Township. Both practitioners are from Tianxi Village, Dongmaying Township, Gaobeidian City.
That same evening at about 10:00 p.m., six or seven policemen from Sizhuang Township Police Station and Dongmaying Township Police Station searched Ms. Huang and Ms. Su's home.
The policemen did not show their identifications before illegally searching the women's home. It was reported that the local policemen never show their identifications when searching practitioners' homes.
Ms. Huang Guohua and Ms. Su Xiaohua are now detained at the Gaobeidian Detention Center.
8. [Baoding City, Hebei Province] Practitioner Ms. Li Yanfen Sentenced to Forced Labor Again
On September 20, 2005, practitioner Ms. Li Yanfen was arrested and taken to the Baoding Forced Labor Camp. She then went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution. The police brutally force-fed her and left the feeding tube in her esophagus, causing an infection in her throat. As a result, she constantly coughed. The policemen then removed the tube and force-fed her directly through her mouth.
Ms. Li Yanfen's husband, Xiong Yiding, is also a practitioner. He is detained in the First Brigade at Baoding Forced Labor Camp.
