(Clearwisdom.net) I am a practitioner who began cultivating in Falun Dafa in 1996. I want to share with fellow practitioners a few things related to righteous thoughts that have occurred during the past year.
Item 1: One time a practitioner and I were posting flyers about Falun Gong. We sent forth righteous thoughts before leaving home and while we were posting the flyers. Things went smoothly. When we were posting the last flyer on a lamppost, we saw two people walking toward us from a short distance away. We were both nervous, but we immediately sent forth strong righteous thoughts, "Do not let them see us." I also recited the Fa-rectification verses. I felt immediately that I was big and tall and had suppressed them. But later I felt that I should have let them see the true facts about Falun Gong so that they would not be deceived by the evil and end up helping the evil.
In the days that followed, I passed by that lamppost several times. I discovered that this particular flyer lasted longer than any other flyer that I had put up during the past few months. It lasted so long that the color eventually faded. I realized that if we always keep our thoughts very righteous, we can reduce greatly the number of flyers that will be wasted.
Item 2: One day I got a phone call from a fellow practitioner telling me that someone had reported her to the police. I told her that she should send forth righteous thoughts. After the phone call, I also sat down right away and crossed my legs and began to send forth powerful righteous thoughts, "Completely deny the arrangements of the old forces that manipulate the matters behind the scene. Follow the path that Teacher arranged for us. Clear away the evil dark minions and rotten demons, 'Fa Zheng Qian Kun, Xie E Quan Mie' (The Fa rectifies the cosmos, the Evil is completely eliminated)." I felt that my energy field was very powerful and my mind very calm. In the meantime, I felt that the person who reported her was harming himself, and the sentient beings that he corresponds with are facing bad outcomes. A few minutes later, the fellow practitioner called me again and told me that the guy claiming to have reported her told her that he was kidding with her. I realized immediately that it was a test. Just as Teacher said,
"When a tribulation arrives, if you, a disciple, can truly maintain an unshakable calm or be determined to meet different requirements at different levels, this should be sufficient for you to pass the test." ("Expounding on the Fa" from Essentials for Further Advancement)
Item 3: One time a classmate of mine was looking for a job and needed to get onto the Internet, but he had used up all the money on his Internet card, so he borrowed mine. I found that after he had returned the card, it could no longer be used. The computer indicated that the password was incorrect. My classmate tested it on his computer and it would not work either. Then he said it might be that his roommate had stolen the card and changed the password. At first, I thought that this incident was to rid me of my attachment to personal gain, and that it would be ok if I paid no attention to it. Then I felt that this way of handling it was not good for the person who stole things, because that card was for me to use on the Dafa website. So I sent forth righteous thoughts and tried to tell him what was in my mind, in order to inspire his knowing side. Afterwards, my classmate told me that the card could be used again, and the amount on it was the same as before. Just as Teacher said,
"If your righteous thoughts are strong supernormal things do manifest." ("Teaching the Fa at the 2004 Western U.S. Fa Conference")
During the past year, I have had many experiences related to righteous thoughts. They were all minor things, just as the ones I described above. I feel that as long as one's thoughts are righteous and are in agreement with Dafa, indeed all difficulties can easily be resolved.
Finally, let me finish with a paragraph from Teacher's lecture:
"If upon encountering trying circumstances your thinking can be truly righteous, then, when faced with the evil's persecution and when faced with interference, just one sentence of yours fortified with steadfast righteous thoughts can instantly make the evil disintegrate (applause), and it will make those who are being used by the evil turn and flee, it will make the evil's persecution of you dissolve, and it will make the evil's interfering with you disappear without a trace. One thought born of righteous faith is all it takes. And whoever can hold firm that righteous thought and go the distance will become a magnificent god forged by Dafa."
