(Clearwisdom.net) On October 16th and 17th, 2005, Falun Gong practitioners in Moscow were invited to participate in the Fourth International Cultural Festival, which was held at the Moscow Art Centre. During the 2-day event, the practitioners gave two on-stage Falun Gong demonstrations and distributed a lot of informational materials to raise awareness of the ongoing brutal persecution in China.

Before the demonstration started, practitioners said to the audience, "We are going to demonstrate the five exercises of Falun Gong. Falun Gong is an ancient cultivation way. The practice not only helps people to regain healthy bodies but also improve their morality, making people more honest, compassionate and tolerant. It has already spread to more than seventy countries and regions in the world, with more than one hundred million practitioners. In Russia at present, there are more than twenty cities and regions, from Saint Petersburg on the Atlantic Coast to Karput on the Pacific Ocean, in which there are Falun Gong practitioners who practice the exercises and study the principles of Falun Dafa."

"However, since July 20, 1999, former Chinese President Jiang Zemin and the Chinese Communist Party have been persecuting kindhearted Falun Gong practitioners. They have put tens of thousands of people in prison, mental hospitals and labor camps. To date, it has been verified that 2,778 people have been persecuted to death. This persecution is not only against Falun Gong practitioners, but also tramples on human morality, justice, and conscience. We hope that all kindhearted people can learn the truth about the persecution, support justice and help stop the persecution."

The practitioners' introduction and the demonstration of the slow-moving peaceful exercises drew many people's attention.
