(Clearwisdom.net) A few days ago, Mr. Shen came to my office and told me excitedly, "I convinced an old lady who misunderstood Dafa. I clarified the truth about Falun Gong to her."
Mr. Shen is an author who came to Canada to visit his relatives. It was a coincidence that I met him and we later became friends. After a period of time, he came to our Falun Gong exercise site, and sometimes he even joined Falun Gong practitioners in Ottawa to participate in activities calling for ending persecution. When he is not busy, he goes to the "Senior Club" in Chinatown to talk to the old people there. Unavoidably, he mentions Falun Gong.
One day there was an elderly woman who did not know the truth about Falun Gong, and grumbled that the Falun Gong practitioners who passed out truth-clarification materials in Zhongshan Park are making Chinese people lose face. She also had doubts about where the money came from to make those materials.
Mr. Shen thought that this was a good opportunity to correct her misunderstanding. He therefore told the group, "The Falun Gong practitioners that I know are all very good people with high moral standards. I have participated in their activities several times, and everybody pays for everything from their own pockets."
"Their exercise site is right beside Zhongshan Park and everyone is welcome to join. No one will ask who you are. Rather, they will ask your last name and nothing more than that. It is just to greet you." Mr. Shen turned to the elderly woman and said, "You could be just like me and participate in their activities, to see if anyone will pay you anything or not."
He also told them that in order to clarify the truth to people and to protest the persecution of Falun Gong taking place in China, the practitioners have devoted themselves quietly and for a long time to truth clarification activities.
Finally, the woman said,"If that is so, we Chinese people should elect Falun Gong practitioners to be our leaders in the future."
"That is impossible. Teacher Li, the founder of Falun Gong, has publicly lectured that Falun Gong is just cultivation practice and should not get involved in politics at all." Mr. Shen said this for all to hear.
The elderly woman seemed to understand it all.
It is true. Nowadays, who contributes their time, free of charge, for months and years? Who takes money from their own pockets only for the benefit of others? Who would not only do things without personal benefit, but also have to face misunderstanding to do so?
If you put yourself in their shoes, would you do the same thing?
Practitioners face the possibility of persecution, or even of being killed in China. They face lawless and godless evil authorities, who deceive and persecute people and endanger people's lives. Falun Gong practitioners have stepped out and clarified the truth to the public to restrain the evil deeds and to protect the kind people. What did the Falun Gong practitioners do that was so wrong? In order to protect the innate human rights of all people everywhere, Falun Gong practitioners, who are suffering from severe persecution, still put forth tremendous efforts. They also work hard to safeguard mankind's morality.
Practitioners' noble behavior cannot be stained by the lies of so-called "getting involved in politics," or by any slander. The high moral standard obtained by cultivating "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance" is far beyond any common concepts. This great spiritual realm is an expression of the brilliant paths that thousands and millions of Falun Gong practitioners have taken.
