(Clearwisdom.net) Assisi is located in Umbria, in the centre of Italy. The city is named after the well-known Catholic saint, Saint Francis of Assisi, who lived there when he gave up his secular life and dedicated himself to his faith. Every year, a large parade is held in this city. On September 11, 2005, over twenty thousand people from Perugia to Assisi joined the parade, which supports justice, peace, democracy and human rights. To let people know about the persecution against Falun Gong in China, practitioners from Milan, Rome and Florence set up a stall on the parade route. They displayed poster information boards and demonstrated the five sets of Falun Gong exercises.

After reading the information on the boards and watching the exercise demonstration, the people who joined the parade that day got to know Falun Gong and see how the Chinese Communist Party brutally persecutes Falun Gong practitioners. Many people said they had seen a program about Falun Gong on Italian TV, so they already had some understanding of the persecution. There were many people who stopped to chat with practitioners and read the information boards. They patiently stood in line to sign the petition to stop the persecution.
