Facts of the Persecution

1. Mr. Wang Fengyu is in his 50s, and practices Falun Dafa in Longquanguanzhuang Village, Fangxia Town, Laiwu City, Shandong Province. The police arrested him in March 2002, and sent him to a brainwashing center in Xiaoyi Township, Laicheng District. The police forced him pay 300 yuan per month while staying there. The Laicheng District Political and Judiciary Committee secretary, Lu Qiping, and Chairman Liu Min forced Falun Dafa practitioners to watch videos that slandered Falun Dafa, then write down their experiences, and attempted to forcibly make them write the Three Statements renouncing their belief. Mr. Wang Fengyu used wisdom to escape from the center, but from then on, the police have made sure that his home has had no peace. The police from the Fangxia Substation constantly go to his home to severely harass and terrorize his 15 years old daughter. For two and a half years, Mr. Wang has been destitute and homeless in order to avoid being illegally arrested at home.

2. Ms. Mo Yongyan is 53 years old, and practices Falun Dafa in Gan-an County, Jilin Province. On the afternoon of November 15, 2004, she was selling shoe-liners in Jingzifang, and was unexpectedly arrested by the police, who then ransacked her home. Her husband, Yi Weiping went to ask about her case and attempted to visit her, but his requests were denied.

3. Ms. Liu Yanjun is a Falun Dafa practitioner, and a teacher employed by the Donggang City, Third Middle School. She went to Beijing to appeal in 2000, and the Donggang City Court sentenced her to six years in prison. In the Liaoning Provincial Women's Prison, she was tortured until she almost died, and was released on a medical parole in November 2002. On May 13, 2004, she was arrested again and returned to the prison. While there, she was cruelly beaten until nearly paralyzed. She still cannot eat. Her husband, Wang Yuanjing, was also a Falun Dafa practitioner, and was formerly employed as the Vice Chairman of the Donggang City Party Committee, Taiwan Affairs Office. He died in 1999 as the result of persecution by the Donggang City Party Committee and police.

4. Mr. Zou Yanming is a Falun Dafa practitioner in Nong-an County, Jilin Province. Because he firmly cultivated Falun Dafa, the police from the Luyuan District arrested him in Changchun City, Jilin Province on November 6, 2002. The police ransacked his home, and beat him brutally. As a result, his arm lost all feeling. Because of the injury, he could not take care of his daily needs for a long time. On December 6, 2002, the police sentenced him to two years at the Chaoyanggou Labor Camp. Mr. Zou went on a hunger strike to protest his treatment, and was punished by having his term of Seventy days extended. He is still under the extended term. Police said that they will send him to a brainwashing center as soon as he is released.

5. Mr. Liu Huayu is 42 years old, and a practitioner in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. On the morning of January 7, 2005, the police from the Dadong Street Substation in Dadong District arrested him, and ransacked his home. He is now held in a detention center. The police were collecting statements in his neighborhood, hoping to justify the arrest to cover up their crime, but many just people rejected their request. Mr. Liu was tortured so severely in the Zhangshi Labor Camp in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province that he had to be released on medical parole.

6. Ms. Yang Jinyan is 52 years old, and a resident of Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province. The police from the Qijiang District Substation in Zhongshan City arrested her on February 9, 2002, because she practiced Falun Dafa. She was detained at the Zhongshan City Detention Center for more than a month. On November 14, 2003, she was arrest and sent to the Sanshui Brainwashing Center, and held there for three months. The police demanded that she give up her belief. On December 7, 2004, more than ten policemen from the Qijiang Substation arrested her at home, accusing her of having spread Falun Dafa. They have held her in the Zhongshan City Detention Center for more than two months. Her husband, Mr. Gu Jingren was suspended from his job because Ms. Yang practices Falun Gong.

7. Ms. Tao Hongmei is a Falun Dafa practitioner in Acheng City, Heilongjiang Province. She went to Beijing to appeal for the first time on September 25, 1999, and was arrested by policemen from the Tiananmen Square Substation. On September 30, 1999, local police officers Sun Weixue and Cui Xue picked her up from Beijing, and detained her for 116 days in the Acheng City No.1 Detention Center. She was arrested again only eight days after she was released. She went on a hunger strike to protest, and was released two months later. After October 2000, she went to Beijing to appeal several times, and repeatedly escaped being arrested. Her righteous actions greatly shook the evil. On February 8, 2001, she was arrested and sentenced to a labor camp. The camp put her under "Personal cangues" (1) for one month. Beginning on August 27, 2002, police monitored her 24 hours a day, and did not allow her to move, or talk, while forcing her to sit on small stools. Because she refused to cooperate with the perverse persecution, she was locked in a small cell (2), and shocked with electric batons until her body was covered with bruises. In August 2004, she was arrested when passing out truth clarifying materials in the countryside, and we have heard that she was detained in a Harbin City detention center for 5 months. On January 6, 2005, the Acheng City Court sentenced Ms. Tao Hongmei together with Ms. Yang Lixia.

8. On December 5, 2004, a large number of police from Dehui City, Jilin Province stormed into all of the rental housing inside the Dahua Factory Family Housing Area, and ransacked each home. They even broke into units where no one was present, entering rooms through the windows. The police even slandered people who reported their burglaries on the government hotline as a "riot." Former City Police Station Director Guo Guangtian (male) was always actively involved in the persecution, which resulted in more than ten Falun Dafa practitioners being tortured to death. City Police Vice Director Wang Chengsen (male) arrested thirteen Falun Dafa practitioners between October 2002 and January 2004, and extended their terms a total of fifteen months. On December 18, 2003, when the Dehui City Court put thirteen Falun Dafa practitioners on trial, Mr. Sun Qian's brother, Sun Ke, condemned the police. Wang Chengsen instructed policemen to beat him until her was severely injured. Then he fabricated false statements and evidence, and sentenced Mr. Sun to one year at the Yinmahe Labor Camp located in Jiutai City. The current City Police Station Director Zhang Guochen (male) once sentenced thirteen Falun Dafa practitioners to the labor camp, and he is responsible for the death of Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Liu Chengjun.

(1) (There were "known cangues" and "undercover cangues") Cangue, the name of an instrument of torture, is now used to indicate the person who is designated to supervise the behavior of practitioners.

(2) The detainee is locked up in a very small cell individually. The guards handcuff the practitioners behind their backs in a fixed position, in which the practitioners can neither move nor lie down. The small cell is very damp and no sunshine comes in. Detainees have to urinate and defecate in the cell. Only half of a regular meal is served to detainees locked up in a small cell. At night rats run around. The stench in the small cell is so bad that it is difficult to breathe.
