Facts of the Persecution

My name is Liu Chunhua. I am 34 years old and a resident of Liu Taizhuang in Fiyedong Village, Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province. I was forced to do hard labor for one year because I went to Beijing to appeal to the government on behalf of Falun Gong after the persecution began on July 20, 1999. I was sent to the Chaoyangxi Dayingzi Fored Labor Camp, where I suffered corporal punishment and cruel torture and was forced to do grueling physical work. After returning home, I was sick and could not work. I was then sentenced to three more years in a forced labor camp and again sent to the Chaoyangxi Dayingzi Fored Labor Camp for printing many leaflets explaining the true facts about the so-called "Self-Immolation" in Tiananmen Square. I went on a hunger strike and did not talk or sleep, so I was sent to the Chaoyang psychiatric hospital for an examination. Even after the doctor diagnosed me with schizophrenia, I was sent back to the labor camp after four days.

Falun Dafa practitioner Li Zhenwen and his wife Zou Limei visited practitioner Cui Ling's dwelling at seven o'clock on September 7, 2004. (Cui Ling had been forced to become destitute to avoid persecution and had rented a house.) Police from the southern office of the Qingdao City Police Station unlawfully burst into the house and abducted them. Li Zhenwen and Cui Ling are now being unlawfully held in the Qingdao Dashan Detention center. Zou Limei's mother bailed her out, and she is now four months pregnant. Allegedly, the police still want to put Zou Limei back in prison.

Zhao Jiayu, who lives in Ertang Village in Shapingba Jingkou Village, Chongqing City, is 52 years old. Because she persevered in practicing Falun Gong, she was unlawfully sentenced to a forced labor camp for two years, from July 19, 2000, until August 14, 2002. She was free for a short time and was then abducted and sent to the Geleshan Brainwashing Center. There she suffered all kinds of physical and mental torture. The police tried to pressure her into giving up her belief in Falun Dafa and tried to get her to write the "Three Statements," which defame Falun Dafa.

When Xie Zhaoqi and Liu Shaoman, two older men, hung up a "Falun Dafa is Good" truth-clarifying poster on the evening of September 7, 2004, they were abducted by the police from the Chuangxin Police Station in the Xinglongtai area of Panjin City. The Xinglongtai police sent them to the Panjin City Administrative Detention Center, where they were unlawfully persecuted that evening. The policemen proceeded to harass and threaten them without let up, asking where they had gotten the poster. No one in their families was allowed to see them.
