Facts of the Persecution

1) Sources report that at 9 AM on August 24, Shanhaiguan District Court illegally tried Wei Danquan, Chen Ying and other Dafa practitioners. We ask that practitioners send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate this persecution and appeal for the release of all Dafa practitioners in detention.

2) Shi Shulan, who resides in the Milan Hong Liyuan complex located on Fuxing Road of Hongqiao District, Tianjin City, once taught at Tianjin's Xinanjiao High School. She traveled to Beijing to appeal to the government and was subsequently detained for one month. On August 16, she still had not returned home, and on that same day, her home was ransacked while her child was home alone. She is probably detained now at Hongqiao District Police Station of Tianjin City.

3) Chengdu Dafa practitioners Mr. Zeng Tao, Mr. Li Xiaobo, Mr. Cheng Mo, and another female along with a few other practitioners have been incarcerated in Chengdu City Detention Center for about five months since March, when a few material production sites in Chengdu were destroyed. Also, Ying Qirong, a retired employee of Radio and Television Broadcasting Bureau, was abducted to a brainwashing center by the police.

4) On August 5, 2004, Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Hua Guoxiang of Fuyang City, Zhejiang Province was kidnapped by local policemen and agents of the "610 Office," and now she is illegally detained at Fuyang City Detention Center. Previously in April 2003, the "610 Office" had abducted Ms. Hua to Dongmingshan Brainwashing Center in Hangzhou City, where she was illegally detained for a month and a half, and by the time of her release, she was very gaunt.

5) Ms. Liu Caifeng of Chifeng City, Aohanqi is a Dafa practitioner from Inner Mongolia. In the Fall of 2003, to protest the persecution and avoid harassment, she was forced to leave home and kept moving from place to place. On July 6, 2004, police abducted her. In order to lure her husband into detention, the perpetrators used her as a hostage and have detained her at Ouhan Detention Center ever since.

6) Mr. Wu Changyu is a retired employee of Laoyingshan Mine of Mine Bureau in Shucheng City, Guizhou Province. In July 2001, he was sent to Shucheng's No. 37 Detention Center and detained for 15 days. In late 2001, he was forced to write the "Three Statements" and illegally detained at the Police Division for four and a half days. Then over the course of the ensuing year, 2002, his home was twice ransacked, and in June of 2002, he was pressured into rewriting the "Three Statements" and monitored for six days. On October 27, 2003, there was a brainwashing session set up solely for him in order to implement a forceful transformation. He was deprived of sleep and food, force-fed with alcohol and pinched from wrists to feet. He was also deprived of his right to do the exercises, compelled to rewrite the "three statements" and even forced to jump out of a 3^rd floor window.

7) On July 12, 2004, Ms. Gao Yueli was arrested by police from Shijinggou in Fengman District of Jilin City. Later, Jilin City TV station framed Ms. Gao and fabricated lies against Dafa practitioners. In the past, Gao had been sentenced to one year of forced labor for validating Dafa, and detained at Hezuizi Forced Labor Camp. Another practitioner, Ms. Ma Fang, was sentenced to three years of forced labor, and Ms. Ma Yan had been given an identical sentence. In August of 2004, Gao Yueli, Ma Fang, and Ma Yan were all sentenced to one year of forced labor. They are currently detained at Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp, and, to this day, no one has been allowed to visit them.

8) Xinzhou District is an outlying district of Wuhan City, Hubei Province. Since May 2004, the "610 Office" has conducted many secret meetings with the relevant people from Xinzhou's work units in order to instigate them into inciting public hatred towards Falun Gong. Ms. Hong Guizhen and Chen Lihong of Xinzhou were abducted while trying to destroy banners containing defaming words and slogans, and they were then illegally detained in Wuhan Detention Center. On July 10, Dafa practitioner Mr. Lei Shen was kidnapped and sent to Liuji Brainwashing Center for detention. On August 6, Dafa practitioner Mr. Lin Weizhong was also abducted and detained at Liuji Brainwashing Center. Lei and Lin went on hunger strike to resist the persecution, and as a result, they suffered even more atrocious punishments, including force feeding. Ms. Wu Zhenju from Yanglo Street has been kidnapped to Liuji Brainwashing Center.

9) Practitioner Ms. Tian Guiting, in her 60's, resided in Longfeng District of Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province. She was deceived into providing a confession by policemen of Daqing City's Dongguang Police Station, located in Xin Village. She was then sentenced to one year in a forced labor camp.
