Facts of the persecution

On June 24, 2004, Dafa practitioner Wang Jinbo, held at Division Two in the Chaoyanggou Forced Labor Camp in Changchun City, was brutally beaten by guard Sun Haibo and two inmates until he suffered dizzy spells and chest pain. His legs and feet were numb and he could not eat. Wang Jinbo's family entreated the guards, "Prosecute Sun Haibo and the two inmates, Sun Lei and Li Mingzhi, who beat Wang Jinbo; release Wang Jinbo so he can be treated and taken care of. You must at least feed him!"

Dafa practitioner Zhang Qiuhua in Weifang City exposes the persecution he suffered: "After [the persecution began on] July 20, 1999, the police constantly came to my home to harass me. In July 2002, I went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa and officers from the town government took me back and beat me. They hit my palms and the soles of my feet with wooden planks and whipped my back with tree branches and bamboo sticks. They detained me at the Birth Plan Committee building for nearly one month, during which time they brutally tortured me. In the spring of 2001, the officers from the police station abducted me and sent me to a brainwashing session held by the town government. In the fall of 2001 I went to distribute truth-clarification materials and was arrested by personnel from the police station. I was handcuffed to a metal chair for 24 hours. The next day I was sent to a detention center. After I was held there for a few days, I was sent to another brainwashing center."

In late 2001, the police constantly harassed Dafa practitioner Yuan Zehuan at her home in Tanghe County, Henan Province because she refused to give up "Truth, Compassion, Tolerance." She left home in order to avoid harassment. In the spring of 2004, Yuan Zehuan was abducted when distributing truth-clarifying information in Pingdingshan City. She was later sent to a detention center in Tanghe County. Li Zhenmeng Li Chao and other officers at the Political and Security Section from the police department threatened and tortured Yuan Zehuan and they tried to frame her. In August 2004, Yuan Zehuan was secretly sentenced to eight years in prison.

Dafa practitioner Mr. Zhou Xueliang in Chongqing City was arrested in late September 2002 along with his wife Ms. Deng Dezhen when they were posting up truth-clarification posters. They were held at Jiulongpo District's Detention Center. Mr. Zhou was held for several months and his wife was sent to Maojiashan Forced Labor Camp in Chongqing City for one year of imprisonment. In September 2003, he was abducted and sent to the Jiulongpo District Brainwashing Center. In early March 2004, Mr. Zhou was abducted when posting truth- clarification materials and was brutally beaten. He was later sent to the Jiulongpo District Detention Center in Chongqing City and then to the Xishanping Forced Labor Camp in Chongqing City with a one-year sentence.

My name is Jin Lihong and I am 39 years old. I work at the Women and Children's Healthcare Institute in Qitaihe City, Heilongjiang Province. On July 21, 1999 I went to the provincial government to appeal for Falun Dafa, and on November 2, 1999 I went to Beijing to appeal. I was illegally detained for seven days. On June 25, 2000, I again went to Beijing to appeal and was detained in several different locations. On July 24, 2000 I was sent to the Xigemu Forced Labor Camp in Jiamusi City for two years of forced labor. At the labor camp I was tortured until my heart rate became abnormal; my left arm and hand lost their function; I had severe tinnitus [ringing in the ear] in my left ear and I lost some hearing. I could not sleep because of the tinnitus and was at the brink of death. I was later released on medical parole. On April 14, 2003, the police abducted me and sent me to the Hongqi Police Station. Due to relentless torture my whole body went into convulsions and my husband came and took me home. In late August 2004, the police went to my work unit and home trying to arrest me, so I left home to avoid further persecution.
