Facts about the Persecution

Jiang Xiaofeng is a Falun Dafa practitioner from Shenyang City who went to Ireland for higher education from 1998 to 2000, and returned to China in May 2000. We recently learned that he has recently been arrested and sent to the Zhangshi Forced Labor Camp in Shenyang City.

Ma Yan, a Dafa practitioner in Kunming City, Yunan Province wrote a letter to the National People's Congress and the Supreme Prosecutor which explained, "On the afternoon of July 27, 2004, authorities from the Kunming Electric Plant told me to go to the plant for a 'study.' When I arrived, I saw Li Rui from the Xishan District National Security Bureau in Kunming City, and Dong, the head of Xishan District '610 Office,' waiting at the factory hotel. From July 27 to July 30, they ate and lived at the electric plant, and I had to report there everyday. Li Rui and Dong 'accompanied' me during my 'study.' In order to stop Li Rui and Dong from violating the constitution by using government money to set up an illegal brainwashing class, violating my human rights, and depriving me of my personal freedom, I make this appeal."

Dafa practitioner Ren Jianguo filed a lawsuit in Nanchong City, Sichuan Province, stating the following: "On August 14, 2002 I was abducted by perpetrators from Shunqing District's National Security Bureau in Nanchong City. They tortured and interrogated me, and illegally arrested me on September 20, 2002. On May 20, 2003, the Shunqing District Court sentenced me to three years in prison. Defendants: Li Xuebin, head judge of the Shunqing District People's Court; He Xuewen and Rao Shiwu, jury members; Yong Lihua and Zhang Lijun, examiners at Shunqing District People's Prosecutor; Chen and Zhang Youxuan from Shunqing District Police Department National Security Bureau; police officers from Jialing Detention Center in Nanchong City, and inmates at Division 12 of Chuanxi Zinu Prison, who persecuted Dafa practitioners. Brief of the case: The defendants deprived the plaintiff of her personal freedom and freedom of belief, and they profoundly violated the constitution of China and criminal laws. Requests: 1. Immediately end the persecution and unconditionally release all detained Falun Gong practitioners including Ren Jianguo. 2. Compensate the plaintiff for financial and emotional loss during the illegal detention. 3. The National Security Bureau should return illegally confiscated Dafa materials and private belongings. 4. The defendants must publicly apologize to the plaintiff, including broadcasting such apology via media channels. 5. Prosecute the defendants for their involvement and criminal violations."

Wang Yan is a female division head at the Shuanghe Forced Labor Camp in Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province. She tortured many Dafa practitioners with a method called the Tiger Bench. Some practitioners were tortured with this method for 40 days and 40 nights. Wang Yan also force-fed Dafa practitioners. She hit the practitioners faces until blood came out their mouths, she played Dafa-slandering videos daily, and forced the practitioners to do slave labor. Another division head, Zhao Lijuan, stripped some practitioners naked to search for Dafa scriptures, and often shocked the practitioners with electric batons. Guo Li, head of the Administration Division worked very hard in persecuting Dafa practitioners, and tried to force them to give up their beliefs.

On the morning of July 29, officers from the Hecheng District "610 Office" and the police department in Huaihua, Hunan Province went to the home of Dafa practitioner Qiu Hongying in the Hecheng District. They abducted her at around 2:00 p.m. and sent her to the Wushui Road Detention Center.

Dafa practitioner Kang Yi is a doctor at the Jangjin City People's Hospital. In September 1999 he went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa, was sentenced to one year of forced labor, and was sent to the Xishanping Forced Labor Camp where the guards brutally beat him, hung him from a window, and locked him in a dark room to torture him. His sentence was later extended by one year. In September 2001 he was sent directly to the Jiangjin brainwashing class and held there for one-and-a half years. In March 2003 he was sent back to the labor camp, and on June 22, 2004 he was sent back to the brainwashing class.

Recently, the persecutors in the Beibei District, Chongqing City abducted many practitioners and sent them to brainwashing classes. Among the abducted practitioners are Yang Rongxiao, Zhou Decheng, and Yang Li. Several practitioners from Shuitu Town and Jingguan Town were also abducted.

Perpetrators from the Wanzhou District "610 Office" and the Longbao Police Department in Chongqing City abducted many practitioners in late July, including Zhang Chengying, Xiang Youwei and his mother, and He Keping, who is paralyzed from previous persecution and tortures. These lawless officials are still monitoring other practitioners and have ordered all school students to monitor their parents, friends, and neighbors. If they report a person who practices Falun Gong, they will receive 200 Yuan in reward money.
