1. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yang Hong Released Only When Her Life Was in Imminent Danger; Police Plan Further Persecution
It has been reported that Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Yang Hong has lost weight significantly after two months of custody at the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. She suffered from blood shortage in her heart muscle, a high pulse rate, and deterioration of kidney functions. On June 8, she was transferred back to the Huludao City Detention Center. On June 9, Ms. Yang was released "on parole." She weighed only 35 kilograms (77 lbs.). According to reliable sources, the Lianshan District Branch Police Department in Huludao City, the district's procuratorate, and the Xinggong Police Station are working on a plan to escalate the persecution against Ms. Yang. She is to be sent to the Dabei Women's Prison, and a warrant for her arrest has already been issued.
2. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Falun Dafa Practitioner Jiang Wangying Protests Persecution in the Brainwashing Center with a Hunger Strike
At 9:30 a.m. on June 15, 2004, leaders the Hanyang District "610 Office" (1) in Wuhan City, Hubei Province ordered officials of its subsidiary "610 Office" in the neighborhood administration office at Wulidun, officers of the Wulidun Police Station, and security officials of the Huayuan Group Company Ltd. to forcibly take Jiang Wangying from work to a brainwashing center in Hanyang District. In protest of the indecent treatment and inhumane torture, Jiang has gone on a hunger strike.

At 4:00 or 5:00 p.m. on May 19, Falun Dafa practitioner Yu Shiquan in Hongtou Town, Qingyuan County, Liaoning Province was arrested by the police. An hour later, four officers led by Ruan Li from the Qingyuan County Police Department ransacked Yu's home. They found Falun Dafa books, banners, and truth-clarifying materials. Yu is currently being held in Fushun City, Liaoning Provice.
4. [Lingyuan, Liaoning Province] Nanjie Police Station Arrests Falun Dafa Practitioner Mr. Zhao Guozhi
On the morning of June 20, Lingyuan Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Zhao Guozhi was raising public awareness of the persecution against Falun Gong at Beiqiaozi. Informants called in the police, and Mr. Zhao was arrested by officers from the Nanjie Police Station. He is currently being held at the Lingyuan City No. 2 Detention Center. Mr. Zhao, 33, was an employee at the Charcoal Factory of the Lingyuan Steel Company. At the beginning of November 2000, he was sentenced to two years of forced labor and sent to the Xidaziying Forced Labor Camp in Chaoyang. In the labor camp, he was inhumanely tortured numerous times and suffered other physical and mental abuses. After his release, he lost his job and has been making a living by doing deliveries on a tricycle.

5. [Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province] Beiqiao Police Station Arrests Eight People Including Falun Dafa Practitioner Ms. Yuan Ruilan
Around 3:00 p.m. on May 26, 2004, officers from the Beiqiao Police Station in Chikan District, Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province broke in and arrested eight people. Among those arrested were Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Yuan Ruilan, 68, and her husband, who is not a practitioner. Ms. Yuan has been sent to a brainwashing center, and her husband was released after being unlawfully held in custody for 48 hours.

Ge Yunling is a Falun Dafa practitioner in Pingdingshan City, Henan Province. Ge has been taken into custody and the Zhanhe District Court is to hold a trial in the No. 6 Courtroom of Criminal Offenses on the morning of June 22. Ge's family tried to hire attorneys, but were told by the attorneys that the Judiciary Bureau prohibits anyone to defend on behalf of Falun Gong practitioners.

Since February 28, 2004, the brainwashing center in Fengrun District has again been holding brainwashing sessions. By the end of May, sixteen Falun Dafa practitioners had been taken there from their homes for brainwashing. Zhao Xuelun, of the Fengrun District Health Bureau was called from home to the bureau under false pretenses and forcibly sent to the brainwashing center. Zhao has since remained in the brainwashing center. On April 28, Zhang Muying, a 67-year-old retired teacher from Chezhoushan Middle School, was forcibly taken from home to the brainwashing center. Zhang is still being held there.
