Good Deeds Receive Fortune

A cancer patient recovered from illness after frequently reciting "Falun Dafa is great." He recorded his experience: I am seventy-three years old. I live in Jiayu County, Xianning City, Hubei Province. On January 13, 2003, I was diagnosed with esophogeal cancer. I went to hospitals, but the treatments were ineffective. In September, I could not eat or drink. A Falun Gong practitioner brought me materials about Falun Gong. My son asked the practitioner, "Can Falun Gong cure illness?" She said, "As long as you truly respect our Master, there is nothing Falun Gong can not do." She asked me to say, "Falun Dafa is great." I recited it constantly. Amazingly, I recovered from cancer. Falun Dafa gave me a second life.

Facts of Persecution

1) My name is Xiong Shuqin. I am a Falun Gong practitioner from Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province. Since practicing Falun Gong, I have recovered from many illnesses. On April 1, 2000, I went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. I was illegally arrested and sent to the Beijing Liaison Office for Heilongjiang Province, where I was detained. Later on, I was sent back to Shuangcheng City, where I was illegally detained for over fifty days. The police forced Falun Gong practitioners to pay various fines and "fees." When I was released, they forced my son and daughter to hand over 1,000 yuan. After I returned home, my work unit refused to continue paying me my pension. They forced me to pay 5,000 yuan and required that I pay 100 yuan every month. Where could I, an elder person in my 70s, find so much money?

2) Since July 20, 1999, the Party Committee of Jiayue County, Zhucheng City in Shandong Province has tried to force Falun Gong practitioners to write letters stating that they would give up Falun Gong. Ma Guilong refused to write such a letter. As punishment, they illegally detained and brutally tortured him for over twenty days.

At the end of 2000, seven Falun Gong practitioners from Jiayue County went to Beijing to appeal to the government to end the persecution. They were illegally detained. Authorities forced each of them to pay 5,000 yuan. Police searched the home of Falun Gong practitioner Dou Jinbao, abducted him several times, illegally detained him, and sent him to a brainwashing class because he went to Beijing to appeal. In 2003, he was illegally sentenced to a three-year prison term. At present he is still being detained at the Changle Labor Education Center in Shandong Province.

Falun Gong practitioners Ren Bingyu and his wife Meng Qingying went to Beijing to appeal. Police searched their home many times, abducted them, and demanded nearly 20,000 yuan from them. In 2003, Ren Bingyu was illegally sentenced to three years in prison. He is still detained at Changle Labor Education Center. His son, Ren Junpeng, is a student at Zhucheng City First High School. Li Xianyang, the school principal, dismissed him from school for telling people the facts about the staged "self-immolation incident on Tiananmen Square" and for telling them that Falun Gong practitioners are against killing.

3) My name is Wang Meijuan. I am a Falun Gong practitioner. I work in the Cotton Textile Factory in Zhucheng City, Shandong Province. On February 25, 2000, I went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. I was stopped at the local train station and was taken to the Chengguan Police Station. Around noon, I was transferred to the Renmin Road Police Station. In the afternoon, I was transferred to the factory for detention. My elder sister paid 3,000 yuan to bail me out. Since then, my salary was cut off, and I was treated as a laid-off worker. The police also illegally monitored me.

4) My name is He Di. I am a Falun Gong practitioner in Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province. On September 23, 2001, several practitioners and I went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. Police seized us, took us back home, and then monitored us around the clock. On September 30, 2001, the Minzhu Police Station in Zhanjiang City called me to the police station and detained me for twenty-four hours. On October 4, I went to Beijing to appeal again. Police arrested me and sent me to the Tiananmen Square Branch Office of the Public Security Bureau. They interrogated me, demanding my name and address. I did not cooperate. They brutally beat and kicked me. Eventually they released me. In April 2002, I was seized and sent to the Xiashan Farmers Hostel. I did not cooperate with their criminal acts and escaped in four days. Afterwards I had to become homeless, as it was unsafe to return home. In March 2003, I was seized again and sent to a brainwashing class. I went on a hunger strike to protest. Seven or eight people brutally force-fed me. My lips were badly injured. They also deprived me of sleep.

Vicious Deeds

In the evening of April 24, 2002, nearly ten officials thoroughly searched the home of Falun Gong practitioner Zhao Junwen. Those involved in the search included Cao Wenmin (Chairman of the Department of Security of Zhengmingsi Village, Lijia Town, Dalian City Development Zone), two security guards from Zhengmingsi Village, Xing and Zhong (vice chairman and chairman, respectively, of the Frontier Office in Zhengmingsi Village). On April 25, Zhao Junwen was sent to Jinzhou Detention Center where he was illegally detained for half a month. Later on a Lijia Town official Xiao Chengde and Cao Wenmin went to Zhao Junwen's home again to force him to write a letter denouncing Falun Gong. Zhao refused. On February 25, Xiao Chengde and Lin Maojiang from the Legal Department, Cao Wenmin and Xing, from the Frontier Office, and others abducted Zhao Junwen and sent him to a brainwashing class. It is at the Linhai Grand Hotel in Heishijiao, Dalian City, Liaoning Province.
