Facts of the Persecution

Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Zhang Feiyu used to live in Yangtian Township, Chicheng County, Hebei Province. Since the Jiang' regime started its brutal persecution of Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, Zhang has been detained many times because of his belief in Falun Gong. He has also suffered heavy financial penalties and as a result he has been placed heavily in debt. To avoid further persecution, he was forced to leave his home and wander about, living in hunger and cold most of the time. His family members have also been put into a state of anxiety for a long time. His mother has even passed away due to the constant state of pressure and worries.

At around 10:00 p.m. on May 10, 2004, Pan Hongxin, the head of the police station of the Kaoshan Township, Longan County, Jilin Province, and Li Shuxiang, the vice head of the police station, led a group of policemen to break into a practitioner's home where they abducted all the practitioners who were gathering there, including Liu Huanzhang, Zhao Lide, Lou Xuanxin, Wang Yongzhan, Sun Xitian, Bi Xianju, Li Tiejun, Zhang Yanhua (female), Hong Zhiguang, and Li Yaping (female). They all have been detained at the Wugongli Detention Center.

On June 4, 2004 in Shulan City, Jilin Province, a group of policemen abducted practitioner Wang Wenpeng, his wife, and his son who is a middle school student. They even took Wang Wenpeng's computer, printer and other personal belongings from his home.

At 8:00 a.m. on June 9, 2004, five people including Hu, the Director of the Chibi County Education Commission of Hubei Province, along with Wangbo, a policeman from Jiyuqiao Police Station, violently dragged Huang Chengxiu, a 71-year-old female practitioner, into a police vehicle. When they arrived at the Jiyuqiao Police Station, Wangbo started beating her face and also cruelly broke Huang Chengxiu's left hand. They then sent Huang Chengxiu to a brainwashing center in Wuhan. A doctor examined her health condition and found that her left hand bone was broken and that all her internal organs were in very bad condition from an electrocardiogram check. The brainwashing center refused to accept her. They were forced to send her home at 1:00 p.m. that day. Huang Chengxiu's right hand had been previously disabled and now her left hand is also broken. She is now unable to take care of herself without any help.

Practitioner Li Xueqing, Mei Jiguang, and two other practitioners from Macheng City, Hubei Province went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong on January 6, 2001. As a result, they suffered being arrested, beaten, and were sent to a detention center and then to a forced labor camp. Li Xueqing and Mei Jiguang's houses were destroyed. Their two families are now without any place to stay. Their family members have become homeless and wander about in the streets.
